Ianthe breathed a heavy sigh. Her clawed paws were killing her as she continued to wander the seaside. Being a creature of the forest, it wasn't often that she found herself here. Generally, she was prone to find everything she needed with the rivers and the greenery around her. Today however, something drew her further. Her mind was clouded. Swirling thoughts of the impending winter left her uneasy, which in turn led her to the river, the one thing that always seemed to calm her.

Ianthe had become lost in the water and thoughts. Unknowingly she had traveled a far distance from home and found herself somewhere strange and new. Land turned to sand between her feet as she stumbled over rocks and pebbles. The smell of salt and sea rang heavy in her beak as she looked up to be greeted by a wall of endless blue.

A wide smile creeped across her beak as her eyes lit up. Making her way down the rocks quickly, she came to a halt quickly as a sudden movement caught her eye. Down, the seaside where the rocks grew larger she noticed it. A large black and white mass, standing upon the rocks. Her ears perked as she slowly moved herself back against the rocks, inching ever closer.

There was a special kind of gleam to a fish hook in the sunlight that was unique compared to any other object in Isosceles' arsenal. Ivory, flint, fangs, neatly tied up with strings and nets and ropes, stretched upon rocks, thrown out to sea...

Isosceles breathed in deep and swift, taking the sea air into his lungs. The ocean. Fishing. These were the only things that drew him closer to peace. He closed his eyes and allowed himself to settle--not his body, but his heart and soul. Soon, however, a familiar little plip reeled him back to reality.

Eyes blazing with the joy of the hunt, Isosceles moved among his hooks and began to pull in his catch. It was a small fish, but a decent enough meal. He didn't eat much anymore. He didn't remember really feeling...hungry anymore...

The sound of talon scraping rock caught his attention and he turned. It was another Gryphon. He was surprised, and then somewhere between relief and self-consciousness, he grew apprehensive. It had been a very long time since he'd conversed with another Gryphon--another living Gryphon... So the male simply stood still on the rocks and waited for some cue, some indication as to what his next step would be.
