Hey! Welcome to the 18+ Book Club, a place for adults on Gaia to group read stories without having to worry the content may not be "age appropriate" and discuss them in a somewhat similar manner. Providing we don't break the ToS, of course.

I'm Tommy Dionysus, known other places on the web as Candice Dionysus. I'm 27 years old, DFAB, genderfluid, and Canadian. I've created this Guild to find others like myself who love to read, and want people they can actually discuss what they've read with.

Basically the rules are as follows:

arrow You must be 18 or older
arrow You should participate at least every other month in the poll to choose the next book
arrow You should participate at least every other month in actually reading the chosen book
arrow You should participate in the discussing of any book you've read, even if just a quick statement of opinion
arrow Do not spam, advertise or post unrelated materials
arrow I will not tolerate trolling and flaming, they are childish and we are all adults - differences in opinion are fine, handle them like adults
arrow Absolutely no suggesting the Fifty Shades of Grey series
arrow No books aimed specifically at children and youths (i.e.: young adult novels, Dr. Seuss books, that kind of thing)
arrow I reserve the right to add more rules as they become necessary (IF they become necessary)

Feel free to introduce yourselves here if you like, though its not mandatory.

I think you should do a guild announcement about the fact that we're reading Frankenstein this month. Just to make sure everyone knows and that members have not already forgotten the guild's existence.

No problem. I was just pointing it out. ^_^ This should not become a source of stress. We're here to have a good time and share our thoughts on books, that is all.

Well, since this is Intro forum, I might aswell tell you about me.

I'm Eva Carline, or Lady Eva. I'm a 26 year old care assisstant who works nights in a Nursing home. I live in England with my boyfriend of five years and I'm a casual Cosplayer.

Hello! You can call me Jackie. I'm a 24 years old French literature student until the end of December. After that I'll be looking for a job as a teacher in college. (Oh, and I'm Canadian too) English is my second language so sometimes I might miss some nuances in fancier works, but I still love reading, whether it's in French or English. Fantasy is an all-time favorite genre of mine and the stuff I go back to when I need to relax, but I love all kinds of novels. I also enjoy writing fiction, although I haven't done much since I started working on my thesis. Other things I love are video games, role-playing games (Pathfinder, mainly), karate and cooking. I'm looking forward to discovering new novels and discussing them with you guys. ^_^

Hello all! I am Yvu. I'm... er... a fuzzeh. I am just someone that enjoys anonymity on the internet. I love to read and look forward to sharing with all of you. I'm currently taking classes in library science and have been reading out the a** -.- 60 books this semester alone.... but I'm always up for reading more.

Hi I just found your guild while browsing and seeing as how I loved your current read, felt I needed to join.
A little about me: I read mostly fantasy and science fiction, but will try and read anything. My favorite book of all time is a tie between Summers at Castle Auburn and Jenna Starborn, both by Sharon Shinn. I'm turning 30 this June, and I have a pet rabbit named Sammy.

I've always been a big fan of classical books, science fiction books, comic books and sometimes manga so I thought I would join a book club / guild where I can talk to adults.
