After failing twice to procure a starseed, Cavansite had decided as she stood on a rooftop, looking down at the peaceful city. It made her sick. Finally after over an hour of just…watching she found someone that she could finally snatch a starseed from. Some poor civilian that was walking home…or walking somewhere. She didn’t know, and honestly…she didn’t care. It wasn’t something she was worried about.

Like a cat, the lieutenant stretched, then hopped off of the roof, beginning to stalk her prey. How fun was this going to be? Fun and easy and…

With a sigh, Cavansite looked around. There was something gross out there. Some sort of sickly sweet feeling that just had to belong to a senshi. This was not what she needed tonight. No, she needed a nice, easy night, and a nice easy starseed to box up and deliver to Gently. That was all she wanted, why couldn’t these meddlesome ‘forces of good’ just understand that and leave her the hell alone for the night.

…Then again…if she could deliver two starseeds…well. Gently would be doubly pleased.

“Come out, come out little senshi. I can feel you nearby, so why don’t you just come on and show yourself?”

Goretti debated coming out of his hiding spot. It wasn't often that he confronted Negaverse agents, and usually they paid him no mind. An unfortunate side effect of gaining power was that it seemed more noticeable, and he hadn't had the opportunity to benefit enough from more power not to.

And now, one was calling out to him.

For a long moment, he did not move. And then curiosity got the better of him and he slowly crept out, into plain sight.

"I'm not that little," he said almost apologetically. Though he was a chibi Senshi still, he had grown three inches already this year--and while not an imposing height, he was still fourteen. And only half a year before fifteen.

"...What are you doing?" He asked, trying to be as respectful as possible while still very suspicious.

A grin spread across Cavansite’s face, looking almost sinister under the streetlight. “Not that little? Are you sure? Have you checked a mirror lately, because you look ‘that little’ to me, of course, that’s because I’m well beyond your years, and well beyond…well, anything you could ever aspire to become…though, not to worry, after tonight, you won’t aspire to be anything anymore. After tonight, you’ll simply cease to exist!”

She paused for a moment, wanting to see and savor the effect that her words might have on him, though lunged a moment later, hand reaching out, wanting nothing more than to close her hand around the little bright jewel that resided in the senshi’s chest.

It was getting to be so annoying, failing time after time…but this one, he looked weak and small and…

And surely she could take him.

Two starseeds was sounding better and better, and much more attainable to boot.

Goretti was surprised but wasn’t caught totally unawares. He stumbled backwards, swatting desperately at the approaching hand. "Knock it off!" he said suddenly, too surprised at the Nega's brazen attitude.

"Why would you even say something like that!" he demanded. "—What you're doing is wrong and you should be ashamed! Your parents would be so disappointed in you if they knew you were terrorizing people! And you're better than that!" he exclaimed.

Truth be told, he had never met a bad Negaverse Agent. At least, not one that scared him.

This one…was scary.

But he didn't want to believe that there were really monsters in the world. He wanted to have faith in her, the way he always had, and he wanted her to make better choices—and let him keep his where it was.

Cavansite paused for a second and laughed. “My parents would be disappointed in me? Oh boo hoo. I’m not some child who cares what her parents think, you know. But I have to say, your parents are going to be worried about you, isn’t that too bad? But there’s nothing that can be done about it, you made the mistake of getting to close to a snake, so prepare yourself for my fangs.”

The lieutenant flexed her fingers, taking another slow, deliberate step towards the chibi senshi. Oh he was so scared and that was just…it was really fun.

Of course…the one issue with playing with one’s food was that sometimes the food got away. But…this kid wasn’t going to cause that much trouble

Goretti was still scared, but there was a determination in his eyes. "A snake can't bite if her mouth is glued shut! And don't think I won't!"

…And as long as his attacked hit, he figured she might take him a little more seriously. What type of person liked getting glue all over them, anyway?

She clearly wasn't backing off, and even though Goretti wanted to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, there was something about this lady that made him feel like there was no point in even trying.

He looked at her and she scared him.

There was an evil in her—or something—that just made his stomach churn.

He was fourteen, now. Basically an adult.

And looking at her made him want to run home and hide in his father's shadow.

Ignoring the lump in his throat, he took another step back and shouted: "Goretti Glue Pool!"

Quote:
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Goretti Glue Pool
A puddle of glue roughly two feet wide sprouts from beneath the target's feet and remains for twenty five seconds. Up to two people can be targeted at once now; the target(s) will find it exceptionally difficult to ply their feet from the ground, and should they manage to free themselves from the glue puddle (as it can be done, more often than not by higher level characters) each following step will also be hindered by the clinging glue. After thirty seconds, the glue turns to dust and loses all of its sticky properties. This attack can be used once per battle.

Glue pool? Really? Was this kid the senshi of glue? Oh wow. Come to think of it, he did kind of look like an elmers glue bottle in cloth form. Cavansite laughed, thinking that was so funny, and thinking that the attack name sounded like a complete and total joke.

At least she did until she glanced down and saw a puddle of…well, what had to be glue at her feet.

“Seriously, Elmer? You shot glue at me?” The lieutenant tried to lift a foot and shook her head in disgust. “Oh god, It’s sticky! You are a disgusting little boy, aren’t you? Ugh.” She tried again to lift her foot, and suddenly…the senshi’s starseed didn’t seem so glamorous anymore. No, the damn starseed was probably made of glue as well, and that wouldn’t make a good gift for her Gently, no sir.

She tried again to lift her foot and grunted in disgust. “Just you wait for when I get out of here, Elmer. I have such a great surprise for you, oh yes I do.”

And that surprise was walking right down the street, ripe for the taking.

"It had better be an apology!" the chibi shouted, and took a few more steps back. As long as the Nega was focused on him, he knew he could run fast in the other direction. That civilian over there…who knew what awful things she had been doing to them?

Goretti wanted to stick around and check on them—to see if he could help or if there was anything he could do, but the safest thing for that civilian was to try and draw the Nega's attention.

…And hope that he'd run into someone a little stronger.

He never knew what to expect from these Negaversers, but he knew that sans a few sticky puddles of glue, he was at a pretty big disadvantage. He didn't have weapons, or aces up his sleeve or anything, and that thought suddenly made his blood run cold.

He stomped his foot, mustering his courage. "So why don't you just grow up and give me one, go home, and we'll forget this ever happened! Before I have to get serious!"

…Oh, who was he kidding. He wished Lenka were here; at least she sounded threatening.

Cavansite snickered, trying once more to free her foot, and grinning when the glue melted away to…dust? That wasn’t what happened to glue…perhaps he wasn’t Elmers glue after all. “Maybe I should call you Rose Art. That was always the cheap school supplies, wasn’t it?”

The Lieutenant stretched and cracked her knuckles, taking a slow, almost lazy step towards the chibi senshi. “Are you ready for your surprise, little Elmer? Because I know I’m ready to give it to you~ And on a silver platter…and no, it’s not an apology, it’s something so, so much better.” Her slow steps were all in jest of course, and quick as a bunny the negaverse agent had popped off of the rooftop, grabbed the civilian and was right back up there, grinning like some wild animal.

“All right dumpling.” She stroked the frightened looking woman’s face, then did what she had been wanting to do for so long now.

Her hand plunged right into the civilian’s chest, and closed on the small crystal that resided in there. Cavansite’s eyes lit up with pure pleasure as she drew the starseed out.

“Aha. There you are, my little beauty.”

Her eyes flicked back to Goretti, wanting to see just how much the little glue bottle liked his surprise.

It took Goretti a few seconds to realize what she was doing—something he kicked himself for. He tried to run after her, but even with his speed, he hadn't been fast enough. He didn't even make it off the roof before she was back, and he stared blankly at her as she pulled the starseed out.

Goretti had never seen someone do that—not really. It had always been a threat or a concern, but he had never seen it. And now that he had, it didn't feel real. Not one bit of it. It was like watching a movie, or seeing the world through someone else's eyes.

All his thoughts were blank, and he went numb as the cold realization sank into him.

It took him a few seconds of absent horror before slowly fear and anger.

"No!!" he shouted desperately, and hurled himself towards her. "Give it back to her, put that back!" he yelled, charging straight towards the Negaverse. Regardless of level, or skill. All he knew was that the starseed Cavansite belonged to someone. Someone who probably had a family. Someone who would be missed.

Someone who he might still be able to save.

Cavansite wasn’t stupid, that was for sure. She wouldn’t have survived this long on her own if she had been stupid…and as such, she held the starseed out within reach of the senshi, before stuffing it quickly into her fancy little pocket of subspace that she kept all of her precious treasures.

“Ah ah, little Elmer. Aren’t you pleased with your surprise?” She was a viper, and he was nothing more than a little mouse. A delectable little mouse all for her dinner.

“And here I had thought you’d be so pleased…there’s no saving her now, I’m afraid. Isn’t that just…perfect?” The lieutenant leaned a bit closer to Goretti, grin growing. “And do you know the best part of it all?” Her voice dropped and she drew back her hand, fingers curling into a fist.

“This was all. Your. Fault.”

Her fist came at him then, colliding right with his little chibi senshi cheek.
And that was all. With a cruel laugh, the lieutenant hopped off of the roof, leaving the civilian there to rot, along with her cute little glue bottle to suffer for it.

So tonight was super fun after all.

Goretti's eyes scanned the area blankly, as if searching for some sign that the starseed hadn't really disappeared. For all the looking, he hadn't even seen the fist coming towards his face. She hit him hard enough that he was sent sprawling backwards; he saw stars and felt a vicious cold flood through his body.

Time didn't really feel like it was moving, but he forced himself up.

She was gone, but the civilian was there.

Goretti ran to her, even though the weight in his heart told him there was nothing he could do.

He wasn't use to letting himself down. He wasn't used to the absolute, crushing failure.

Goretti had never seen someone die.

But here she was, pretty and perfect and just…

Without a starseed.

He couldn’t even check for breathing; he couldn't hear his own thoughts. He reached out a trembling hand to check a pulse, but he was afraid to touch her.

For a moment, he tried to talk to her, begging for her to wake up.

But she didn't.

And she wouldn’t.

And someone was going to see him there and think he did this. Cavansite was long gone and he didn't know what to do.

So Goretti ran. Ran to someone who might.
