Scuffed combat boots thunked heavy on the stairs as Sidney descended. She frowned at the bit of gold and rainbow she held extended out in front of her, as though afraid it would bite if she didn't watch it carefully. Down the hall she stumped, into the kitchen to stand in the center of it in her black jeans with holes in the knees and over large sweater striped green and black. At least she was dressed this time... The last this kitchen had seen her had been stark naked and sweaty, a state she far preferred to clothed and dealing with...This.

"It was in my bag." She stated, holding it out to her flatmate as though it was his fault the pen had made it into her keeping. She still frowned at it, remembering how she'd come to have it. One hand ran back through her rainbow hair and Sidney sighed gustily.

"You really want to do this now? What do I even do with it?" It was convenient, and childish, to 'forget' what the cat man had told her to do in favor of stalling while Rob explained. She'd already taken longer getting dressed than even the most persnickety of fashionistas, until it had become painfull obvious she was dragging her feet and she'd been forced to abandon that tactic.

The last time she'd seen this pen, she had been swallowed whole by a trained turned monster... She was reluctant to repeat the expirience.

"Yes, I really want to do this now." Rob stood in the middle of the kitchen, arms folded in front of him as he tapped his foot on the floor with impatience. His expression was pure grumpiness and had been ever since he'd figured out Sid was stalling -- which had been pretty quickly after he'd gone upstairs to put on clothes and saw her in her room… not getting dressed. At least he was dressed now, in the same t-shirt he wore over his boxers and his usual baggy jeans. In one hand he held his transformation pen, shades of green and gold with a strange symbol on the top. (He remembered seeing this symbol when he had inadvertently visited his homeworld-place, but he still didn't know what it meant. That would take at least another visit to figure out.)

He almost rolled his eyes. "You know what to do with it -- you do what I did with mine. You hold it up in the air and say 'Eros Power, Make Up'." Noticing how she was holding it like it was covered in something disgusting, he shook his head, blond dreadlocks flying to and fro. "No, no, you don't hold it like that. You hold it like this," and he unfolded his arms and stuck out his fist, clutching his pen in a tight grip. "With confidence. Not like it's going to bite."

Crossing the kitchen, he placed a hand on Sidney's shoulder and tried to look reassuring. "Look, I know you went through some hellish s**t the last time. But the only way to stop that from happening again is to learn how to become Eros." Which may or may not have been true, but at least as Eros she could better defend herself or get away if she had to.

"Do you want me to demonstrate again?" he asked, stepping back to give her some room.

Sid sighed as Rob came to grip her shoulder, trying not to pout too hard at him. He was being so serious, it probably wasn't fair to be so petulant about it. Especially because it made him frown and she found she much preferred other expressions on his face. Particularly the heated ones, though he had a killer smile too.

"All right, all right, I got it." She said with another, last gusty sigh. She removed his hand with a gentle grip around his wrist so she could step back and hold out her pen with more confidence this time. She knew what was going to happen, but it still gave her a queasy feeling to think about it.

"Eros Power, Make up!" The short woman called out and she burst into light as the words fell from her lips. The baggy clothing dissolved in the light and as she lifted her arms, glowing hearts burst up from the floor in rainbowed, shifting colors to swirl around her and settle on her skin. When the light finally faded, Sid was left in black ankle boots and knee-length, splattered shorts. Her top cut off just below her bust, leaving the span of her stomach bare, and rainbowed colors decorated the scarf about her neck and the bow behind her hips. Goggles held back her wild hair and she lifted her hands to flex her fingers in their white gloves.

"Alright, well, that's it." She said as she reached for the arrow pierced heart on her chest, tilting the brooch back to get a better look at it. It made sense, sort of, with a name like Eros. Cupid and all, right? The whole outfit wasn't horrible, as outfits went and the boots had low enough heels to be comfortable. Apparently it was the same bit every time, because nothing had really changed from this power up to the first time. The pen had disappeared too and Eros frowned a little as she opened her hands as though it should still be in them, even though it very obviously wasn't.

"Now what?"

It was only because he had seen her transform in front of his eyes that Rob recognized her, knew her as both Eros and Sidney. Still, he had to consciously remind himself of that at first. The weirdnesses of the transformation process.

Once his mind was clear, though, he grinned at her. "Nice outfit. Very cute and colorful." Holding his pen aloft, he recited the phrase that would transform him, and in a shower of light and leaves Puck was standing there in his ragged-hemmed green and white fuku. "Mine's comfortable, but not nearly as stylish as yours."

He cracked his knuckles then. "Now, we start training. We can start with the physical stuff -- you're faster now, and stronger, and can jump ridiculous heights. Like you could jump to the top of the house with no problem. Or we can start with questions and answers. I'm sure you must have a million questions, and while I can't say I have all the answers, I can at least help a little," he said with a reassuring smile. If nothing else, he had his phone and the primer to refer to.

The asian girl sniffed at his comment about her outfit, but there was a hint of a smile on her lips as she tugged the hemline of the top a little further down. She did like the colors and the style. Sid figured she could have ended up in worse, really. Her eyes tracked her room mate as he did his own transformation and she found herself wondering about the differences between them. Why one hearts and one leaves? Why the clean lines on hers and the tatters on him? The... senshi, on the train, had been different too, and the cat man. Did it indicate something? Didn't armies usually have matching uniforms?

His comment about her physical abilities was greeted with a skeptical look, but while she found it hard to believe, she also knew he wouldn't tell her something he didn't know was true. It was going to take some hands on proof to set her skepticism aside, but that's what this 'training' was for, she figured. She needed to keep an open mind about things, because after the monsters she had seen, it was hard to really write anything off the table.

"Alright, well first... why do we look so different? Why are you all leaves and green and I'm not? Why is my name like this Eros? Why is yours Puck? Do these suits come with, like, some kind of magical powers? What was that thing that ate the train? What was the cat-man that gave me the pen?" She rattled off, starting with the things that forefront of her mind. Question and answer seemed like a good place to start and it kept them here, rather than... out there with the monsters.

Puck blinked at the barrage of questions from Sid -- Eros. Luckily they were mostly questions he knew the answers to, or could at least speculate on. Taking a deep breath, he dove in. "Right. Our outfits I think reflect our magical spheres somehow, like how our magic manifests. Like I'm Puck of the Woods, so mine is green and woods-y, with leaves and crap. And my magic involves forest growth. I have no idea what your sphere is, so I can't say why your outfit looks the way it does or how your magic will work. As far as I know, the outfits don't come with any magical powers beyond not needing to be laundered or mended." He thought back to fights where he ended up blood-spattered and filthy and the next time he powered up the uniform looked like new. Except for the tatters at the bottom, he couldn't explain those.

"As for our names, you're Eros and I'm Puck because that's where our starseeds come from. Did they explain starseeds to you?" Probably not, he thought, since it was in the middle of a battle. "It's like your life spark, right here," and he touched his chest. "It can get damaged or even removed by the bad guys, so protect it at all cost. ANYWAY. Eros and Puck. They're places, like planets or moons or like that. Puck is a moon of Uranus, for example. Not the Shakespeare character, like I initially thought. Likewise Eros is a moon or planet or asteroid or something, not the little bloke in nappies." He didn't mention that she could travel there. Not yet. This was all about the basics.

"Let's see… I don't know anything about cat-people, but I do know about talking cats. They're guardians of a sort. They have their own magic apart from being able to talk, and part of that involves awakening people who have special starseeds in them. They also pop out those magical pen things and believe it or not cellphones, so we can stay in contact with each other." Holding out his hand, he pulled his out of the place where they apparently stayed when not in use. "Here's mine. It's kind of old-school, but still useful." Holding it up, he took a snap of her and checking his Contacts list saw that Eros had been added. Then he held it out for her to see.

"And that thing that ate the train must have been what's called a youma," he continued. "There's monsters all over Destiny City, and some of them are controlled by the Negaverse -- the bad guys I mentioned. Some keep them as like pets. The Negaverse have their own agenda, and it involves killing people. It's our job to stop them."

He smiled at her, a small wry grin. "It's a lot of information to process, I know. You have any more questions?"

Okay well, that made some sort of sense. Outfits fitting whatever you were senshi of. There were lots of examples of this in super hero comics and stuff. People liked themes. And it was good to know it didn't need cleaned or anything, though that part was maybe a no brainer. If it appeared by magic, why not just appear clean each time?

"Starseed?" She murmured as he explained. It didn't make much sense to her. You had a hear, lungs, organs in your chest. And pretty obviously, you could damage those if someone hit you or knifed you or whatever. It was never a good idea to get injured in the chest area. By then why give it a fancy magic name, when you could just call it 'heart'?

"Why are we named after planets?" Eros asked, her arms crossed under her chest. "Is the... sphere connected somehow?" Why have both a name AND a sphere?

The senshi girl started as a phone magically appeared in his hand and she frowned at it, wondering. It looked kinda out dated compared to what everyone had now. Like an old blackberry. Strange. Her eyes tracked it as he held it up and took a picture, her head cocking to the side. Reaching out, she took the phone from him and thumbed the buttons, flipping through the various screens that felt familiar, from a phone she'd had years ago. Similar, but different too.

"Why is it our job to stop them?" She said finally, her eyes on the phone. "What is their agenda, exactly? Why are they killing people? I mean... its not like either you or me were trained to fight, Rob. We're not military or martial arts experts. So we've got this magical power... why does that mean we're supposed to fight these people, whoever they are? Terrorist usually have like a cause or something. Some reason for what they're doing. How are we even supposed to stop them form doing whatever it is?"

"Yeah, starseed," Puck repeated. "I don't know what it looks like or why it's in our chests, all I know is that everyone has one and we're supposed to protect ours at any cost. You lose it and you die, alright?" He hadn't seen anyone get their starseed yanked out of their body yet, he only knew what Faust had told him and what he had gleaned from the primer thing on his phone. He really needed to locate that Thraen fellow Faust kept going on about and see if he could get any more information out of him.

The blond senshi shook his head, half to keep from becoming impatient with Eros; she was so new, after all, and hadn't gotten any information when she'd awakened at all. Right now he was her only source of help. "I think it's because our souls come from these planets, so we're named after them. Our spheres are somehow connected to our planets, I think, I'm not sure how that all works. Did anyone tell you what your sphere was?"

Gently taking his phone back, he leafed through the buttons until he found the primer again. Just in case he needed it, even though he'd already read it. "It's our job because we have these powers we can use, related to our spheres. We're stronger than regular people, too. And there's other physical increases, like I said before." He crossed the kitchen and took Eros' hand. "I know we're not trained as warriors, but this transformation crap gives us this instinct to fight the bad guys. At least that's how it's been for me. Like it's somehow ingrained into our souls or something.

"As to why the Negaverse are doing what they're doing…" Puck shook his head. "I don't know. There's nothing I've been able to find yet that explains why they're killing people. Maybe someone else who's a bit more experienced knows," he said, thinking again of Thraen. "They're easy for us to find, though -- you feel it like a gross electrical charge setting your teeth on edge. They kill people and steal their energy, and no-one is sure why. One thing is sure though: we CAN stop them. With our magical attacks and our physical increases. I've beaten one up already. If you want, I can teach you how to fight."

He squeezed her hand. "Oh, another thing -- when I'm in this getup, I'm Puck, not Rob. Just like you're Eros and not Sid. We have to protect our identities like we protect our starseeds."

"Oh, don't worry." She muttered softly. "I won't be letting anyone put their hands into my chest."

It really was a lot to process... and the more he loaded onto it, the more she didn't want to deal with it. It was hard to keep focus, but she pushed, for him. Because Rob was her friend and she trusted him.

"I don't know what my sphere is. The cat guy didn't say, he just mentioned something called 'Arrow of Passion'. My magic, I guess? Something like that." She rubbed her arms until he came to take her hand, sighing softly. She wanted to keep arguing with him, but she didn't at the same time.

"Puck, right. Sure." She offered him a small smile before she squeezed his hand. "I'll try to remember that. And if you wanna try and teach me how to fight or something, I suppose that'd be good. I can't promise I'm gonna be any good at this or anything, but I'll give it a go."

The senshi braced her hand on her hip, cocking them with a bit of playfulness to the stance, even if it was a little forced. "Okay, So. What's step one, then? I've got the powering up thing and you've explained some things. What else?"

"Hmm. So maybe your sphere is something like Passion?" Puck let himself grin and chuckle a little. 'Passion' would be an entirely appropriate sphere regardless if one was talking about Eros or Sidney. The girl was nothing if not passionate, in every sense of the word. Regardless, he decided it probably wouldn't hurt to find Faust and get him to confirm. Maybe the cat could give her a phone as well. "And yeah, that sounds like your magic. Arrows, huh? Better than mine," he chuckled again.

Puck knew that he was piling a lot of information on her, and he could see her starting to buckle under the weight of it all despite trying to keep positive. He felt bad for her -- she hadn't asked for it, none of them had, and her awakening had been fraught with terror, a real trial by fire for the small senshi. But the more information she had, the better prepared she would be for the next time. And there would definitely be a next time.

His grin softened into a smile as Eros squeezed his hand. "That's the girl. As long as you're willing to give it a go, I'm willing to teach you. You have no idea how many fights I've been in," he laughed. "As Puck and Rob. More as Rob, really. So I'm pretty experienced with beating people up."

Releasing her, he grinned at her again as he crossed his arms over his chest, looking for all the world like a dreadlocked Peter Pan. "Now the fun begins. Like I said before, we're faster and stronger when we're powered up. Want to learn how to jump to the top of a building? Want to race?" He waggled his hips playfully. "I bet you can't catch me."

Pulling back, Eros punched Puck in the arm for his chuckling about her sphere, though the corners of her lips quirked up too. She wouldn't be upset to learn that was her sphere... it wasn't inappropriate, really.

"I guess I'll just have to rely on your experience then. You definitely have more of it than I do. Well then." She gave him a long look up and down until he wagged his hips at her, her eyes drawn like a magnet to the motion. The expression on her face eased into contemplative, delicious memories flitting through her mind to mix with imaginings. It took effort to pull her attention back to the matter at hand, but when she managed it, it came with a sly grin.

"Oh yeah?" She hummed as she tilted her head, giving him a challenging look. "You sure about that? I'm small, but I'm quick. I bet you I could... but what would you give me if I did, hmm?"

Reaching out, Eros walked her fingers up Puck's stomach, her fingertips light over the white cloth of his shirt. When she reached his chest, she grabbed for his scarf tails and gave them a little tug. "Might as well make it worth while, hmm? Lets decide some stakes and make this fun."

"That sounds like a bloody great plan," Puck grinned, watching Eros teasingly grab and tug his scarf tails as he rubbed his arm where she punched him. He was always up for a challenge, especially one that involved a wager. "Let's see, if I win… Hmm. If I win, you write me a song that I can play. I don't care what you use, just as long as I can play it on something I can play. That leaves you quite a bit of latitude, I think." He grinned down at her mischievously. He still thought he could best her in a race, but she was right -- she was a quick little thing.

In more ways than one, he thought fondly to himself.

The blond senshi tilted his head and booped Eros' nose with his finger. "What about you, love? What do you want your reward to be? If you win, that is?" He braced himself for the answer -- knowing Eros/Sid, she could want anything.

Eros swatted at his hand as he dared to boop her nose, a playful scowl curling across her face. She hauled back and punched him in the side again as she thought about what she should ask for.

"Unless I give you a piece of crap, its going to take me hours and hours to write you a song, Rob." She groused, though there wasn't much in the way of heat to it. Her teeth scraped across her lip thoughtfully. It would have to be the piano... it was what she knew best, unless she wrote it in Rythmn and exported the sheet music. There was some measure of fun in making something that would challenge him, and more in the idea of having something they shared like that.

She'd never gotten to really share her music with someone before... Ice's talent had lain in drawing, more than music.

"I suppose that just means what I get will have to be big enough to match it." Eros hummed, before she suddenly broke out in a smile, her lips stretching in a chesire curve that lit up her eyes with mischief. Oh yes, that was perfect... And if she knew her friend, she knew he'd make this a real challenge just to try and weasle out of it.

"If I can tag you..." The small senshi entoned, striking a pose with a hand on her hip and the other pointed dead center of his chest. Her grin was all teeth. "Then you have to do exactly what I tell you to for a whole day, sunrise to sunset. You get three Vetos."

"Ow," Puck grinned as Eros' sharp little fist landed in his side. "And it's Puck, remember? Not Rob." Still, he was pleased that she seemed to accept that as an appropriate wager. Truth was, he'd been itching to play music with her ever since she moved in. He remembered her playing piano in the house when they were both small children back in London, but they'd never gotten to play together like that. This should be fun.

Provided he beat her in their race, that is.

The expression on her face clued him in that she had come up with something suitable for a wager for herself. Her cheshire grin widened, and he found himself with her finger in his chest, listening to her terms with increasing dread. "So basically I'd be your slave." Oh no. No nononono. That wasn't going to happen, not if he had any say in it. No telling WHAT manner of humiliations she would subject him to if she won and was able to tag him in a foot race.

He dare not let his dread show, however. "You have yourself a deal, love," he said decisively, with a confident smirk. "Shall we go out to the alley alongside the house and settle this then?"

Eros practically radiated satisfaction as she caught a flicker of something in her friend's face when she laid out what she wanted. Oh, he knew how much he was in for if he lost this bet, but she figured she could pull a few things out of her hat that he wouldn't anticipate and would leave him squirming.

"Slave is such an strong term... But yes." Eros laughed as she left off poking him, even if the grin remained in place. "I have so many ideas already for things you could do for me... Starting with breakfast in bed."

The senshi clapped her hands together and rubbed them gleefully before she reached out to hook her arm in Puck's and drag him towards the back door. By now this house she shared with her friend was familiar and comfortable, the halls and rooms imprinted well enough Sid could find her way through them even stumbling drunk (which happened often). Through the back door, down the little path through the bit of garden Rob had managed to cultivate, then out the back gate into the alley between the neighboring houses. A glance about confirmed there was no one to witness them and Eros finally dropped Puck's arm, stretching her arms out and swinging them in an attempt to warm up like she'd often seen athletes do.

"How long as we going for? How far? You have to make it something reasonable, because I'm pretty sure you've got more stamina than I do... for running." Eros smirked, giving him a teasing look.
