Evan was not a fan of hospitals. He never had been, and he doubted he ever would be. Even if it was only supposed to be a quick visit, he hated it.
The Emergency Room had been awful when he showed up, and he wound up sicker just by looking at some of the injuries. But it was quiet now, and he wasn't sure what unnerved him more—being around a bunch of bloody, disoriented patients, or sitting here all alone in a temporary room, waiting for a doctor he suspected might have forgotten about him.
He sat on the bed, legs dangling over the side, and wondered if he could have made a run for it. They already had his name and insurance, so it wasn't like he was even going to get out of paying, but he'd have been happy if he got to just go home.
His arm was bandaged up but he was still sullen; he sat, lips pursed and elbows to his knees as he waited with significantly less patience. None of his phone calls had gone through (likely because of the very late hour) but it was even more disappointing to think that after all of this, he was still going to have to walk home by himself.
…But he was seriously considering just getting a cheap hotel because he did not want to spend two hours walking home.
One heavy sigh later and he was still debating if it was in his budget, but if no one called him back…
Maybe it would be nice to swap sleeping on the couch or sleeping on a bed—rented or otherwise—for a night.

Nico, on the other hand - or paw, as it were - was actually a rather big fan of hospitals. To be here among these sterile white walls as a caretaker was still very much ingrained in him, even after he'd awoken to some greater heroic purpose. He was needed in a war, something much bigger than this... although to him, this still felt like a big thing in itself. Making these people smile and laugh where they wouldn't have been anything but scared, lonely, or miserable without him was about as gratifying as a successful love match!
... almost, anyway.
Of course, he wasn't supposed to be here anymore. The program he'd been part of had long since died. But that didn't mean he considered his job complete. After all, guardians could do more than provide for senshi, right? Right.
Which was how he found himself slipping into one of many temporary rooms, purring as he caught sight of his newest target and gave a plantative little mew of delight as he stepped into the man's line of sight, his hat perk and straight on his best for the best possible impression.
Yes, a hero's work was never quite done after all.

Evan directed his gaze to the furry little creature in the room and he frowned--not angrily, just in confusion. He didn't know much about the practices of animals in a hospital, but he didn't think there was supposed to be a cat just meandering around.
He immediately regarded it with suspicion, but he was too tired to be upset or worried. Instead, he just slouched a bit and squinted to give it a better look over.
"...Are you one of those talking cats or did someone just dress you up and set you loose down here?" He asked, mostly rhetorically. There couldn't be that many talking cats and he didn't know what to do with even the normal ones.
Well, yes he did. And that one looked very fluffy and sweet, but he knew better than to pet stray animals.
