Abby shivered in her red down coat as she and her dog, Sherlock, made their way quickly down the dark sidewalk towards the nearest park. Normally the 12 year old would not voluntarily be out this late but when a Alaskan Malamute/German Shepard mix wakes you up in the middle of the night you get up. Sad She had just enough time to grab some jeans, her thick jacket, and slip into a pair of sneakers before the urgent whining of Sherlock had her rushing out of the house. They wouldn't be long, if luck was with them. If she didn't know her dog so well the young lady, even now lagging behind the huge dog, she would have just let him out into the tiny back yard but knowing him as she did the dumb dog would start howling and making a right nuisance of himself. And so against her better judgement Abby was out in the chilly fall air following behind a dog who resembled a wolf and wishing she could go back to sleep. Unfortunately for her... Her luck was about to turn, and not for the better.

Abby paused at a crossroads to wait for the light to change, even with it being the middle of the night she wasn't about to trust these yanks and their driving skills. One particularly large yawn was all it took for her attention to lapse and Sherlock, who had been tracking a strange scent, took off running. The dog ignored Abby's commands and darted across the street only to be lost to view in the still surprisingly green foliage of the park.

Still shouting commands Abby chased after the trailing leash only to come up short when she finally made her way through the thick bushes. There her stupid dog stood in a clearing whining softly, his tail tucked between his legs, facing one of the scariest creatures she had seen to date. The youma was a mix of a giant crab with the articulated body of a bug… and those pincers were snapping threateningly at her puppy. With her heart racing Abby couldn't do anything but try to distract it, and powered up with a shout of anger. “GET AWAY FROM HIM!”

That distracted the youma alright. Now it wanted Ellicott rather than the pooch. The chibi senshi scrambled out of the bushes and could only hope that some miracle occurred because there was no way a little girl like her could do anything against such a demon.

It was cold out! She really would need to start thinking about what to do when it got colder out, when snow started to fall, because going out in just this uniform simply would not do! The only idea she could come up with was a coat..but how odd would that look? Could she even move well in one if she got into a fight or what would she do? It was something to think on of another time but not something to hold off on either, as it was getting noticeably cooler out; especially in the evenings.

Jumping down from a building top as she picked up the sense of something, something not right, she headed toward it. It felt like chaos but not a lieutenant or anything more powerful either. A youma perhaps? That thought in mind kept her headed in that direction, they would go for anyone without a thought - even some poor homeless person.

Luck would have it that as she was entering the park, hunting down what she thought might be a youma, she felt the signature of a senshi but it felt off from hers. It didn't feel dark but...different somehow. Hurrying after the aura she soon found out what it belonged to - a little kid. Seeing what was headed for the child, most definitely a youma, she senshi of vampires did the only thing she could. She charged at it, rather than take the time to use her magic, and threw herself at it with all her weight behind the tackle. "Leave her alone!"

The youma was focused on its prey and reached out its pincers when all of a sudden a force struck it in its side. It careened to edge of the clearing from the force of the blow, laboriously it turned around and saw yet another senshi had joined the first in the clearing. All the creature could think of was more food so with a few menacing snaps of it class it bum rushed the new senshi.

Ellicott had winced away from the youma who was slowly approaching her and Sherlock only to have her eyes open wide as a voice shouted out, echoing her earlier command. There now stood a senshi in frilly red, gold, and black uniform in the clearing and before the younger senshi could shout a warning the older one charged the giant crab thing. "Sherlock, kuja!" Ellicott ordered her dog over as she kept a sharp eye on the movements of the chaos creature. Once the dog was by her side she gave another quick series of orders, "Kukaa, kubaki" above all she did not want to risk her dog getting hurt.

By the time the dog's butt had hit the dirt the youma had recovered and was charging the other girl. "Look out!" Elliott's warning wasn't very helpful but it was all the little girl could do. She had no real helpful magic and she was no fighter. Once again she was useless in a fight... Was even less helpful than a normal civilian would be.

((Come, Sit, and Stay... literal translation is remain))

She heard the warning, had seen the youma coming for her, and threw herself to the ground to avoid being hit by the youma. It didn't stop her from scraping herself on rocks as she hit the ground. But she picked herself up and jumped backward to put distance between herself and the youma.

"Thanks, but I'll be fine." She hoped anyway. She would be better off than the little senshi, that she was somehow sure of.

Shaking her head her attention focused itself on the youma and up came her hands as if to splash something at it. Instead when she whispered a few words what came from her hands was not water but bats, three of them. She was using her magic to try and slow the youma down - make it easier to handle.

"You keep safe, and don't get hurt." She called out over her shoulder to the little senshi, she couldn't let the youma hurt her or the dog. Her attention was again completely focused on her bats and watching them head for the y youma to begin their attack. She could only hope at least one would get a bite in so some energy could be removed from the youma. She didn't intend to deal with the youma at full energy, it would give her a hard time without a doubt. They weren't exactly slow and this one looked a bit quick to her.

Fiction1119
Sailor Scout Attack:
Sailor Nephthys raises both her arms in front of her, as if splashing someone with something, as she calls her attack. This attack summons three bats, playing on the lore that vampires could turn into bats, and not only do they serve as a distraction but if they bite a person they drain that person(s) of energy. The bats actually do drain a victims energy, equivalent to pulling an all nighter. For those people it will be noticeable if they are using a lot of their own attacks or are very active in a battle. This attack can be aimed at more than one person, as there are three bats. They can be attacked and destroyed or avoided of course. This attack is an instant cast and the bats will last for fifteen seconds before vanishing of their own accord. The spell can be cast three times in battle.

The youma had missed its target but quickly oriented itself for yet another attack but before it was able to three bats came flying at it. A strange chittering sound echoed around the clearing as the crab creature swatted at the flying nuisances, its snapping claws punctuating the visible irritation of the youma.

Ellicott watched as the older girl dodged the giant crab and even gasped in surprise tinged with awe as bats appeared to annoy the youma. Unlike the senshi, Ellicott knew her magic wasn't all that useful and she couldn't even fight. If she hadn't felt an obligation to remain it would be probably have been better just as soon as Sherlock was safe.

"Sherlock..." Ellicott absently reached out to her side while keeping a sharp eye out on the bats dodging the snapping claws. Her hand encountered nothing but empty space. Instead of a soft ruff of fur her fingers felt nothing but a cool breeze. "Sherlock!" Desperately the chibi started to scan the clearing, it didn't take her long to spot the large dog closing in on the backside of the youma. The stupid dog had decided to enter in the battle.

Ellicott scrambled to her feet trying to shout out with her heart lodged painfully in her throat. She hadn't gotten more than a few stumbled steps forward when her dumb dog got a sold hold on one of the armored legs. That got the youma's attention much more then the bats and because of its form it was able to bend around to snap its pincers at the unfortunate dog.

The little girl shouted in horror and before she even realised it she was racing towards the youma and her dog, all concern for her own safety completely disregarded.

Watching as it seemed to be distracted, which was good, the senshi of vampires was already looking for something she could use as a weapon. They were in a park though so what was she going to find? A stick? A small rock? She didn't think she'd find much she could use to kill the youma with and her magic wasn't going to help much in the way of killing it...she'd have to use force?

Seeing the dog closing in on the youma she wasn't expecting it to turn it's attention on the dog or it to go for the dog. But before she could think, or even consider her actions, she was placing herself between dog and youma as she shoved the dog out of her way. Taking the attack and crying out as the pincers instead struck her, cutting through fabric as she avoided being clasped by the pincer. Her hands came up again and the whispered attack as bats again were summoned by her. She would do her best and not give up on this fight or let the dog be hurt.

One leg lifted before a heel was brought to bare as she sought to kick, using her heel as a weapon, whatever part of the youma she could.

Ellicott wasn’t going to make it in time… She was still too far away. The youma was going to hurt her dog! To the young senshi’s surprise the older senshi jumped into action. Shoving Sherlock out of the way, sending the large dog tumbling, before taking the blow that was meant for the dog. She let out a yelp of surprise and horror before quickly smothering it with her hands.

This person just risked her own safety to not only save Ellicott herself but her dog as well. How many people would risk bodily harm for a animal? The chibi senshi wished she could help the other girl but with no offensive magic all Ellicott could do was stand there and be a target… A distraction.

That gave Ellicott an idea and this time she was going to try her best. As the older senshi kicked out the little chibi ran around to the other side of the creature and waited for just the right moment. The youma took the kick in its side and with a angry chitter raised its claws ready to snap the annoyance in half, that was when Ellicott jumped into action. “HEY! Ugly!” She tossed the small handful of stones at the youma. They did not cause any damage but they did distract the creature long enough for the other senshi to strike some more.

Having used her attack on the creature, and watched the bats bite the youma she knew it would have a little less energy, as she was about to launch some sort of attack on it the chibi had taken to throwing stones at it.

"Be careful! Don't get hit." She called out to the other, not wanting the smaller senshi to find herself on the receiving end of the youma's attack. With the youma distracted, and turning toward the chibi senshi, she moved in to attack it. Kicking and hitting at it her own magic would be useless as well. While she went for kicking and hitting her dark eyes were darting about looking for anything she could use against it, something she could use as a weapon.

geeze im sorry about the delay on this love sweatdrop

Ellicott nodded absently at the senshi’s warning. She definitely didn’t want to get in the way of those claws since they looked like they could do some damage. The chibi frantically looked for anything to work as a weapon, unfortunately there wasn’t anything she could find. “Dang it,” in an uncharacteristic show of childish she stomped her foot in frustration. It might have been a pointless show of annoyance but it did remind her that she had just her mind to use, she had magic. Ellicott had no idea if it would help in this situation but it was better then nothing but first she would have to get closer… much closer.

The barefoot chibi skirted the range of the youma, who was occupied by the older senshi, and came to a stop behind lady before calling out her own magic. “Dancing to Battle!” Her feet beat into the cold grass as music only she could hear coarse through her. She could feel the magic pour out of her and the only thing she could add was a silent prayer that it was helpful. That for once she, and her magic, was useful.

The youma was moving slower and cracks were beginning to show in its shell from the constant barrage of strikes the senshi was throwing at it but it wasn’t willing to give up yet. It tried to dart out of the attacks but found that it was pinned by Sherlock locking onto one of its blacklegs. The creature chittered in anger and tried to snap at the pup but the dog refused to move and seemed to be in the one spot the youma couldn’t quite reach.

Quote:
Sailor Scout Attack: Dancing To Battle

Ellicott does a strong, driving, war dance and as her feet pound out the steps on the ground the members of order around her feel an upsurge of strength, courage, determination, and power. Only the order members in a 5 foot diameter feel the affects of her dance and the effects last only as long as the dance does or 20 seconds, whichever comes first. This can only be used three times in battle.

The serious lack of weapons, or anything to be used as such, was bothersome for the senshi of vampires. Her magic was limited and a weapon, of any sort, would be helpful but a part wasn't exactly a place to find such a thing. She couldn't lift a trash can or break a pole or even a bench to turn it into a weapon. A trashcan, even if she could pick it up or kick it at the youma, was odd due to shape and size so it wouldn't really work. To swing something like that or kick it.

The feelings which hit her, rather suddenly, and the surge she felt drove the senshi of vampires to find stones on the ground to throw at the youma and a kick was delivered to where she spied a crack in it's shell. She was determined to remove this youma and not let it get away, it would just harm someone else.

"I won't let you get away." No, she wasn't going to let this youma get away from her tonight. It would wind up dead if she had her way, which she was determined to have.

Ellicott could feel her magic fade as her feet slowed to a stop but it seemed to do some good since she watched in awe as the older senshi viciously throw a flurry of attacks at the creature. If only she was able to do that. Ellicott looked away in guilt over being a burden and spied a few stones hidden in the grass. She perked up as she realized could at least distract the youma. The young girl scrambled around clawing the stones from the dirt before whirling around and slinging them at the youma. A grim smile flashes across her face as the stone rattles off the shell but the youma flinches all the same.

The youma was chittering in anger as it tried to dodge the vicious attacks and the stones that were rattling against its cracked and battered shell. It tried to skitter away but the dog latched onto a small back leg prevented it from moving more than a little. Unfortunately for the youma, that proved to be its downfall as one well placed kick by the older senshi broke through its protective shell. It screeched briefly before dissolved suddenly into dust, it's energy all used up.

Ellicott collapsed seconds after the youma dissolved, as if the strings holding her up had been cut suddenly. Her heart was racing and to her surprise she felt tears well up in her eyes before spilling down her cheeks. She buried her face in her uniform wrap as sobs started to rack her body, only moving when a wet tongue on her bare arme meant that Sherlock had come over to check on her. Ellicott wrapped her arms around the large dog’s neck and buried her face in his ruff as the dog wined softly.
