She knew she was taking a risk, a big one, but as the dark haired girl approached the museum she calmed her worries and pushed the doors open. The place was near to closing time and that was just fine, perfect really, she had no intentions of looking at all the exhibits. It wasn't that she wasn't interested in them, she was curious about what could be here, but she had a purpose and she was sure she looked as determined as she felt.
Heels clicked on the floor as she looked around, dark hair swaying behind her, as she looked around for the person she was seeking. "Where could he be...?" She wondered aloud as she wondered where to go, she'd never been here before and she hadn't a clue where anything was or where he was.
She had bought something the other day, spending money wasn't normally something she did, but she had splurged for a very heavy fur lined and trimmed cloak for Iouri even though she knew it might not look so good on him, and had been happy to note it had a hood even. He would need it to handle the cold of Polaris and that was where she planned on taking him today and it was why she had the item draped over her left arm as it hung heavily in folds of dark fabric and fur. The dark sweater dress she wore was warm. perhaps even a bit hot, in the museum and it wouldn't even be an issue on Polaris as her clothing would change, but it had been cool outside and misty as it looked like they were due for rain.
"Iouri..." Running her fingers through hew bangs she finally headed off toward the right, hoping it would yield what she sought. If there were maps, or anything else, she hadn't noticed and perhaps that was due to the nerves she was trying to quash and had been trying to all day...the last two weeks really. She knew she was going to do this but she couldn't help the nerves and it was something new for her, she normally didn't deal with nerves like this.

Iouri had just returned from the courtyard, where he'd spent the afternoon supervising volunteers. There was mulch tracked down the fronts of his khakis, an occupational hazard of gardening if there ever was one. His plans for the evening consisted of locking his office, going home, and taking a long shower, possibly followed by laundry but definitely followed by spaghetti. He did not plan to do any more work-related things tonight, that was for sure, so when he heard his name out of the corner of the hall, at first he didn't process it. Then, the call came again - he turned towards the source. "Winterlynn," he said in surprise, swiping a slightly-dusty hand through his hair to slick it back. He hoped she didn't judge him for how disheveled he looked. "It's nearly closing. I hope they didn't make you pay admission. Did you need something?"

Turning toward his voice she felt a smile forming on her lips. "Iouri." Smiling, even as she took in his dirty appearance, she actually even laughed softly. "Get into a fight with nature?" She asked while approaching him, heels clicking on the floor.
"No, they didn't thankfully. I would have anyway though, I need your help." She admitted softly, her pale eyes focused on the other. "I may be majoring in gemology and learning about gemstones, minerals, and such but I'm out of my element and into yours, even in that regard. I just worry you will think I'm crazy or that you won't, or can't, help." She was worried about a lot of things and it wasn't normal for her, she didn't worry over things. She'd never had a reason to worry over things.
She was prepared, fully, to prove she wasn't insane but she couldn't guarantee the others help or that he even could help her. She could just hope that he could and would help her. She hoped she could trust him. "When we first met I mentioned the currant problems in this city. Right now...I know it may seem irrelevant but please. Tell me your not involved in any of the terrorist activity going on in the city...it's important, I'll tell you why and you'll understand - I promise. I'm not looking to insult you or upset you." She just needed to be sure everything was safe, that she would be safe and Polaris would be, that her wonder would be.

Iouri narrowed his eyes at her. It was always flattering to be told he was needed, but he wasn't sure that this was something he could help with. "I know of these problems," he said, placing a careful hand on her elbow and leading her away from the main flow of traffic. This was sensitive subject matter, and he wouldn't like them overheard. "I am not involved," he said solemnly. "I do not wish to be involved. Don't tell me your name, I have no desire to know." He'd carried on with Finn and Aleksy without ever learning the names of their powered identities - that was safer. There was no risk of him giving up what he did not know. "That said, I will aid you as I can." He'd offered as much to others - he was not a very effective Switzerland, but he would try.

"I was worried more that you could be involved...on the other side." She whispered, glad for him finding them a more secluded part to talk. She may have been whispering but if someone walked by, if someone got too close and was able to hide and listen in, no...she didn't need them heard.
Shifting her weight, moving the cloak she had from her left to her right arm, she wondered what he would do if she just powered up and brought him with her. It would be sudden, and arrival was a very off putting feeling at first, but would he be upset with her? It was another worry, so many worries were piling up.
"I don't know what to use to clean things...in an unpolluted environment...how to preserve books that are...ancient in such an environment either. I don't want to pollute it, I don't know what to take into account with the books - or anything. I don't know how different things are from here, not this city but this planet, and there..." Where though she didn't say but she was unfolding the cloak as she held it up. "I can show you though...if you trust me. I can show you something I think you'll appreciate in a way most people wouldn't and couldn't." Someone in his field would surely appreciate such a trip. "It won't be like what you'd expect though." Polaris was a star, she knew this, but it was covered in snow and buildings, people had once lived there.
"I don't know how to do things without electricity and if solar power can be harnessed or what options would be best. I think...given the location that it would be best to ask an expert and to show you the situation." She wasn't offering her name, wasn't giving it, but she was offering far more than that, a lot more. "It's safe for both of us and you won't become any more involved than helping me, unless you want to."

Iouri frowned, albeit slightly - he was trying to keep his expression neutral. "I don't believe you've told me which side you're on yet," he said, but then he did not like to know what side anyone was on - or even what the sides were. He'd met Zircon and knew that she fought for the Negaverse, and presumed that Finn and Aleksy served opposite of her... but beyond that, he had done his best to avoid becoming learned on the subject. "We can leave here," he said, "And you can tell me what side you serve, and then I'll decide whether I want to accompany you to an additional location." He had at the very least grasped that he wanted to avoid the Negaverse's recruiting methods. "People would probably notice if we disappeared from this hall." The museum might have been emptying out, but it was still by no means a private venue.

"I'm a knight, or rather a squire." She answered hoping that was a good answer, that he didn't somehow support the other side. She had really no idea and was taking a big risk. She just hoped it wasn't a bad thing, that it didn't blow up in her face somehow. She wanted to trust him, she was offering a lot really. "I'm on the good side, to put it simply." She needed after a moment.
"Of course, we should perhaps, for this trip if you agree to it, get some water. I've brought something for you to wear when we arrive." Motioning to the cloak she had, meanwhile she was in a dress herself. "You'll need it... think of a Russian winter..." Even though it was only October and fall was only just settling in now, they'd had summer like temperatures in September for the most part. It hadn't felt like autumn until recently and she was glad for the change finally occurring. It was just proof, as far as she was concerned, that things with nature weren't where they should be when the seasons didn't turn as they should. They really were messing up the environment.
"Maybe some food also, if your hungry, we can bring it with us and eat there." She offered then with more of a smile. "I'll pay for it, since I'm asking you to come with me.

Most people thought of themselves as being on the good side, thought Iouri, biting his tongue. However, the word knight was familiar to him. He nodded. "Okay," he said. "I'll go with you. There's a bodega on the corner. We can pick up some supplies." He met her back at the intersection, grocery bag in hand. "We can set out now," said Iouri, holding the bag open for her to inspect - he had a couple of bottles of water and some exceptionally cheap sushi. "Russia in winter, you say. Where are we going?" He leaned in slightly. "How are we getting there?"

"I'll tell you when we get there, you won't believe me if I tell you right now." Actually being the smart man he was he'd likely be scared, after all they were going to a star. Stars were supposed to be burning hot places not like a Russian winter with deep snow. "Trust me and follow." Having seen what he had gotten them she smiled and headed for a dark alleyway, wanting the safety it would offer her when she powered up.
"I'll be taking us there - personally. You'll need the cloak though. You'll freeze in what you have on now." Actually their water might freeze also, it likely would in fact. She didn't mention this though as she ducked into the alley way and while waiting for Iouri to join her she took the time to set the cloak for him down and power up before picking it up off the ground quickly.
Once he joined her she was holding it out to him. "Slip it on now or you'll get hit with the cold fast and hard." She whispered, hoping he would trust her despite the big change in attire.

Iouri took all this information in stride - or as much in-stride as one could when they still weren't entirely sure what was going on. He pulled the cloak around his shoulders and then looked back over at Winterlynn, who had taken the time to slip into something a little more magical. It took him a moment to process the change - her face was the same but different, familiar parts that refused to resolve into a familiar whole. "That-" he stammered, startled. "That is some fascinating cloaking technology." He'd always known that something of the sort must exist, but to see it in action was simply splendid. Looking around the alley, he asked, "How will we be traveling?"

"it's not technology." Laughing she reached out for the older man and once she was able to she drew him in closer. "it's magic, and trust me it's real." Magic was real, very real, and as much as she might not have once wanted to believe in it she couldn't deny it either. She was a rational person and seeing everything she had...she couldn't deny it.
"I'll get us there, it's easy. Just hold on." Or let her hold onto him. She hoped he liked where they were going. For as she held him close she focused herself on where she wanted to go - Delphi. The place would be cold, it would be big, and a lot for him to take in - she knew it. As she focused her mind on the destination she held onto him that much tighter as if she might let go of him, and then what? But soon neither of them were in Destiny city, that was for sure, the cold the stung at cheeks suddenly, and other exposed skin, and the snow that she sunk into.
But when she opened her eyes she was happy to see they'd made it - both of them! The ground was covered in snow with a fountain standing not far off, it didn't work though; sadly. But to their back was nothing, open space. Ahead of them and to the right were the tall metal structures she'd been seeing in hr mind since she'd first come here. Flights of steps went up from the snow covered ground to a large landing, pillars lining the area and appearing to hold up the vast roofs as they resembled the court building seen on Earth. They were like metal but Greek in nature with all the decoration that entailed only Greek gods and such creatures weren't to be seen. The carvings in the metal depicted different things while the language that she knew was embossed above the entrance doors was in an unknown language. Almost a mirror image of the right was found to the left of them, just ahead of them a bit. It was what was in front of them, directly so, which was different and the most imposing and awe inspiring perhaps.
A large building, larger than the others stood with its round dome ceiling sprouting up form it's center. More columns and another similar roof, that took up the right and left side of the building as the center ceiling was domed. This building was larger, higher up, with more steps to climb up to reach the columns and the doors which lay beyond them. From the top of the done a spiral of metal shot up into the sky and from it's top stood, in crystal form, the symbol for the planet they were on - Polaris. To this massive buildings right and left were twin buildings that were in a different style and yet seemed to go well next to the Greek style buildings surrounding the plaza they stood just inside of. The two buildings were round, with domed ceilings that seemed to even have windows. Each of these structures were eight stories high, and each level seemed to be open but no - it was windows. Tall windows, perhaps floor to ceiling, The windows were rounded at the tops and straight at the bottom. These two buildings connected the structures which lay to the left, and right, of them with what was right in front of them - they were corner buildings.
She was smiling fondly at the sight but after only seconds of taking it in her pale eyes turned to her companion to observe his reaction to the change in scenery, drastic as it was. "Welcome to the star Polaris. This would be a location called Delphi, courts and libraries filled with books on law." This was why she thought he'd like it, being on a star, and this was why she needed help. An untouched, or almost untouched, environment that had been absent of people, save for the past few years perhaps, for how long? It wasn't going to be made up the same as Earth, or maybe it would be? She didn't know but Iouri might be able to help her. This was most certainly his realm and not hers.

Iouri went wide-eyed as their surroundings suddenly changed. She hadn't been lying when she described their destination as being like Russia in winter - the cold had fangs, and it bit into him wherever his skin was exposed. He pulled the borrowed cloak tighter and looked around, taking in the building in front of them. Say something, he thought. "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic," said Iouri softly, his breath hanging in the air. He turned to the woman beside her. "We're on a star?" he asked, not incredulous but... incredulous. "The surface of a star? A cold star? Polaris?!" He laughed - he wouldn't have believed it if he hadn't seen it himself. But the snow was faintly luminous... "We're standing on the north star," he said, looking up towards the sky. "So Earth is..." He laughed. None of the stellar positions made sense. There were no constellations here that he recognized. Of course there weren't. "Four-hundred and thirty-four light years away. And we got here in - I would snap but I don't want to freeze my fingers. Wow. Святой ебать. Wow." Sleet Tempest Snape 1. Holy ******** class="clear">

"Perhaps, but it is considered magic, at least by us. Technology you can leave, mostly, to the talking cats and the knights from Mercury. Polaris gained technology, and other things, from other planets and blended things." It likely explained the two odd towers which served as libraries being one style while the rest was Greek in style but also the metal that was common to Polaris and it's buidlings, even the two towers were made of metal.
"Yes, we're on a star...and yes...a cold star - Polaris. The north star." She answered laughing she pulled the hood over his head and smiled. "Now do you see why I need your help? I don't want to use chemicals to clean things - they could ruin the environment...and I don't understand these things like you would." And here they were, in space, and able to breath and live without space suits. Grabbing his hand she pulled him along toward the buildings. "It's a bit warmer inside but without power...it's hard." Something she also wanted to fix, to bring power and heat to the place somehow or other.
"I want your help making it where people can visit and it's clean and livable...at least to an extent." Pale eyes focused on the other as the younger gave him a hopeful, needy, look. She needed his help and hoped he would assist her in rebuilding a small piece of this wonder. "You can take something home from here...but the snow is likely to melt unless you freeze it." Unless he saw something else. This was her wonder and she could give him something, something for just him to keep.
"I can come here every...two weeks. So if you want to come with me in the future you're more than welcome."

Iouri followed along at her prompting, too awestruck to stray from the path. Yes, there was so, so much to see and do here, but he was in unknown territory that was likely to turn dangerous at the slightest misstep. Winterlynn knew where they were going and what they'd come for, and he would stick close to her side. "No, no," he said, carefully shaking his head. "You said this place is pristine. Untouched. We shouldn't remove anything. Not without proper documentation. This is an archeologist's dream. You need to record the provenience of anything you take from here. I couldn't." She couldn't have meant any harm, but the suggestion was absolute sacrilege to Iouri. "I'll come if you need my help," he said, "But if we're going to begin messing with things then I'd prefer we follow due process. I am an archivist - a scientist - at my core."

Laughing she smiled. "There would be no one to document anything with, aside from myself and my princess. No one has lived here in over a thousand years...and this was, back then, my wonder and it is again. Polaris belongs to Sailor Polaris, my princess, but Delphi is my piece of it. If that makes sense to you." So she could take things from here, and would, but he at least understood her needs for his help as well and she turned, stopping, and gave him a hug.
"And that is why I asked you to help me. I don't want to ruin things but I want to...rebuild and help with certain needs. You are a scientist and understand how delicate the air, the environment, is here." This hadn't been touched by people, even those who's once been native to here, and that she didn't want to subject this place to what Earth suffered from all the human involvement.
Headed for the tower to the right, ahead of them, she pushed the doors open once they'd reached it. Inside was a library of a massive scale. Books stacked on the floor while the shelves, at least on the ground floor, were dusted and polished. A tupperware sat on the floor not far from the door. Swiffers, paper towels, an empty garbage can, and more sat inside of it having been used or prepared for use if need be. "The books...I want to find a way to preserve them. They are law books, the other side, like this one, also contains law books." Not that she or even Iouri, could read them. But law books were important, especially if ever they could be translated.
The first floor was shelves going around the outside of the room so the center room was couches, chairs, a fire place, tables and more so people could sit and study and work. There was a grand staircase which stopped at each floor before continuing on as it climbed higher and higher. Each floor had desks and chairs with lamps, that didn't have cords or plugs, while rows of books filled the other floors as well.
"This was a center of law on Polaris, this whole plaza. You can look at the books if you like, they are a bit delicate - some more than others." And this was how she needed his help, preserving and making this place function again slowly and with the use of not so invasive technology.
