Adopt: 'Unicorn' Dovaa
Character Name: Jyotsna
Gender: Male
Clan: He will become Aiskala in the future. ^_^
Personality:
~ Good Son: With his mother having to take care of the family on her own there are a lot of things that end up falling onto Jyo's shoulders even though he's quite young. He does his best to help her out. Babysitting his sisters when his mother is working, learning how to cook for them, cleaning the house, doing laundry, and the like are normal. Anything that taking care of his sisters requires Jyo will do his best to figure out. Due to this he often time finds himself being teased by others his age about being 'trained to be a house wife' which is in the opposite direction of being a warrior that he wanted to be when he was younger.
In his opinion things were a lot easier, as well as simpler, back when his father was still around because his mother was a lot more lenient with everyone. He knows that they sometimes argued, that things weren't perfect, but at least they were together and Jyo could act more like a kid.
With all that has happened since the loss of his father the idea of becoming a warrior like father seems like its no longer within his grasp, for the time being at least. It's something that he's hoping to do in the future but for the time being what he will do what he's told, not wanting to upset his mother. As difficult as it can be to find time for himself given his hovering mother and three little sisters Jyo means to try to sneak in some in regardless. He'd like to learn about more then just the various chores that his mother assigns but it might prove difficult. He wants to be a good kid but at the same time he hopes that his mother doesn't figure out about what he really wants to do with his life.
~ Smothered: Jyo isn't really allowed to wander off on his own, his mother seemingly afraid that something is going to happen to him that will cause him not to come home. She often says things like 'come home straight away, I won't have you disappearing like your father' and the like. Due to this, as well as his busy home life, he's pretty much stuck at home when he isn't going to classes. While it's something that he's getting used to with time though he still has the want to do things outside of the house. He knows that, until he's older, that it might have to wait.
~ Tolerant (Of Those Younger Then Himself): Jyo spends a lot of his time with his younger sisters, getting lead around by the hand by them, climbed on, with his sisters putting ribbons in his hair as well as painting his nails. When it comes to the little ones they can pretty much walk all over him and he allows it, smiling all the while.
He's definitely a good big brother and this trait will likely cause him to treat anyone younger then him in the same manner that one would a little sibling. He will always have the desire to look after them, keep them safe, and make sure that they get home safely.
~ Naive: Jyo isn't all that good with things that are outside of his limited realms of expertise, he's also one that misses subtext and things that are veiled. He tends to take things at face value, possibly due to the fact that he spends a great deal of his time with kids that speak their minds. Given the fact that he doesn't get out much doesn't really help out much. There is only so much that one can learn from books.
~ Dreamer: Jyo has aspirations of being a hero! He reads books about dragons, old battles, combat, and the like on his own time, normally at night when the rest of his family is asleep. He wants to become a great hero like his father was before the man died but hasn't had the opportunity to go in that direction yet. There are a great many hurdles in the way between him and his dreams, the biggest of them being his strict mother, but he means to do his best to get there one day.
~ Discontented: Jyo has a good life, one in which his mother trusts him with a lot of important work, as well as the care of his sisters when she isn't able to be home with them. It's a life that anyone could be happy with, but he isn't. It's not that he doesn't love his family it's that he wants more then to be a 'house wife'. It's the desire to become more that causes him to sneak around behind his mother's back, to seek out books that will help him in his road to become a hero. He doesn't want to spend the entirety of his life on the Celestial Plane even though that is what his mother wishes for him to do.
He will sneak out when everyone else is sleeping, get his few friends to bring him things when his mother is at work, or to come home late from school claiming his lessons ran late. Anything to seek out time to further his own ventures.
As he grows Jyo will find that there seems to always be something that is just out of his reach that he desires. A want to travel to a certain locale, a certain object that everyone is after, or even the affections of a certain person... and upon finally attaining what he wants, if he is even able to, he won't feel what he thought he would starting out. Having the newest, best thing will be fun for a time but then something else will catch his eyes. His own need to continue to forge a forward path might cause him to leave behind friends and even lovers if they aren't able to keep up.
~ Other: The only ones he will continue to return to in his life will be his sisters, often times giving whatever he's gathered (and no longer wants or needs) to them. He might not be content with the things that he's gathered by at least he can give them to the three girls that he cares so much for. As for others that he runs into if they don't follow along after him, at the pace he sets, it's likely they will be left behind/forgotten as he strives forward toward whatever the 'goal of the week' might be.

Biography/Background:
Mother: Bahiyya, Dovaa Civilian, Firani (Cook)
Father: Hollis, Dovaa Battler, Ysali (Deceased?)
Sister: Olivia, younger sister (6)
Sister: Aria, younger sister (6)
Sister: Nathalie, younger sister (3)
~ Single Mother: Jyo's father was taken away by an Oblivionite warrior a few years back, 'gone forever' according to his mother, leaving the woman to raise their children on her own. It's something that has caused her to become a lot more strict as well as over protective of her children, not wanting to allow any of them to leave the Celestial Plane or even their own property for that matter.
She seems to always have eyes on them or is checking up on them when she isn't at work, making it quite difficult for one to have any sort of a life outside the house. She's already lost her husband and she doesn't want to lose her children on top of that, no matter what she might have to do. Even when she's working Jyo doesn't have the time to do anything on his own since he is tending to and protecting his little sisters.
~ 'Dead Father': After being told what happened to his father is was assumed by Jyo's young mind that his father had been taken away by an Oblivionite warrior to be killed. It's something that colored his opinions of them, though their mother's harsh words where they are concerned have only added fuel to that fire. They are a group that isn't to be trusted around 'decent' folk he's been told, something that he's taken to heart.
~ Younger Siblings: Jyo has a few of younger siblings and often finds himself helping his mother with their care. He's a good older brother though it often gets him teased by others his age who comment on how good of a 'wife and mother' he's going to make one day. It's something that gives him a desire to stand up to such bullies, to get stronger, and put them in their place... though it's an almost impossible task with the way that his mother hovers. The chances of actually getting to train and get stronger is a difficult dream to grasp for certain.
Thoughts on the Great Engagement: It seems really far away, and yet due to the loss of his father and its effect on his mother too close as well. He isn't sure if he wants to get mixed up in such a thing personally, but one never knows what might makes its way to the Celestial Planes. The Mara proved that the place isn't completely impenetrable by outside forces after all.
Thoughts on the Magescian Races:
~ Dovaa: He likes his own people well enough, though finds those his own age to be rather insufferable. Given that he tends to spend the majority of time at home though he can just ignore them and go about his business as usual. It's just when he goes to school that he has problems and has to endure their teasing.
~ Orderites: Their the ones that made the Mara, the Mara made a mess of things in the Celestial Planes, therefore they can't be that great... Right? His mother doesn't seem to be too impressed by them or the things that they create, warning her children away from the dangers the Orderites present. As such Jyo wonders if it's best to just avoid them and their strange creations altogether. Not that he exactly has a high chance of running into any where he lives.
~ Oblivionites: Jyo definitely doesn't like them. The Oblivionites took his father's life and caused the great change in his mother. He has no desire to meet with any of them due to the fact that he knows they are nothing but dangerous. If he were to run into one of them he isn't quite sure what he'd do. There is that part of him that likes to believe that he'd fight with them, to avenge his father, but at the same time he has no idea who killed the man. Attacking them at random seems like it would cause far more problems then it would fix... not that the loss of his father is something that could be fixed.
~ Hybrids: He's not really sure what to think of them. There are a lot of rumors swirling around about them, people talking about how 'unnatural' they are, so maybe it's best that he avoids them. The odds that they will show up where he lives are low, but regardless of that he will keep his distance.
Thoughts on the Dragons and Khehora:
~ Dragons: He's read about them, as well as hears stories about them. They are powerful creatures that warriors fight so that they can become even more powerful. He doubts that he will ever see one... though if he did, and the chance to fight one was actually presented to him he's pretty certain he'd run away.
~ Khehora: He's seen them around, most times bonded to others. There is a part of them that likes the idea of having a friend like that, one that is almost a part of you... but he highly doubts his mother would ever let him have something like that. As such he will just admire them from afar for the time being and try to find an egg of his own when's old enough to make such a decision for himself.
The only thing he worries about as far as a Khehora is concerned is that if he got a bonded that it would end up dressed up as often as Jyo himself is.

Quote for cert: "I'll be more then a 'house wife' one day, I assure you."

Ahhh - well Jyo is looking adorable so far! He feels pretty fleshed out already and well-rounded. My only thing at the moment is that he doesn't seem to have any negative personality traits that reflect poorly on him. "Smothered" isn't a positive trait certainly, but it's not at all his doing or his innate self that's imposed this on him - it's his life, and there's nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't reflect any 'bad' side of him. Naive is also not really a 'positive' trait, but I would classify it as neutral and arguably cutesy, so hard to say this is something 'bad' about him. I am sure on the whole he's a great person (he sounds very sweet), but I'd like to see at least one negative personality trait that has to do with who he is as a person, if that makes sense.
Other than thaaaaat, though, I think he looks ready to join the world. @ u @ So if you get back to me on that, I'll stamp approval on him. :]

I will approve! :] "Discontented" still feels a little to me like it's from an outside force and not something bad about him personally - he has every right to feel a little discontent not wanting to be a housewife and the "perfect" child and working all the time under a smothered roof buuuuut close enough lol.
One more approval and we'll set up a journal for him. :]

* u * So much detail. Love it.
My only problem is the same as Uke's.
I see that you added discontented but, to me, that's still not a negative trait that's all about him. It's still caused by someone else. I'd really like to see something bad about him that isn't caused by his mother.
For example...he could be gullible/a pushover/easy to control/unassertive...etc.

I like the changes you did. And since you went ahead and broadened the discontented trait, I'm going to go ahead and approve him. But still feel free to broaden his traits as you see fit and add more info. And if you ever need help, we're more than happy to help!
