gaia_star [ The garden ]: This area is a beautiful garden, but from it rises a tree, spanning high, high above you. The garden itself is overflowing with opulent green, it is strange to see so much nature mixed in with knowledge and yet, it makes so much sense to you as to why.

The garden itself is supported and maintained by swathes of Infected. The maintain their human forms and lumber around in a zombie-like state. They all wear grey coats.

(Roll 1d4 if you wish to interact with them - OPTIONAL - and match your dice roll to the results below. You can roll as much as you'd like!)

1. This infected is long not there. They keep on repeating I'm sorry over and over again. Occasionally, they will water the plants with a non-existent watering can, but most of the time they simply curl up and cry to themselves, rocking themselves back and forth. Their name reads Bekki Shae.

2. The infected seems to be surprisingly in good human shape, other than the top of its head and brain replaced entirely with fungus. It doesn't seem capable of thought, but is curious about you, following you everywhere and sometimes mimicking your actions. In it's pocket is a vial that is glowing red, opening it seems to make the liquid dissolve rapidly. The name on their nametag reads Glen Barrett.

3. The infected seems to have lost it's entire lower half, replaced by vines that slowly idle forward and backwards in uneven clumps. Occasionally, it falls, and then the vines pull its torso back up and tilt its head back to normal. It seems to be stuck holding something in the air, though the something it was holding is long gone, as it just pantomimes the action. The name on their nametag reads Dave Adolph.

4. The infected seems to carry itself with an air of importance even now. Their entire face is missing, replaced by blooming corpse blossoms instead. It smells terribly, though it doesn't seem too interested in talking to you. Occasionally it makes clicking noises, and you are able to translate it int words. Things like "she shouldn't have" and "the sacrifice was too great". Its nametag is missing.

Well this area is pretty...

Leiah, after making herslef leave the dining room, had found herself wandering once more. She looked around, marveling at the tree and its size, reaching a vine out to touch it carefully. This tree was just...She was content to sit there and touch it for some odd reason and she did so for quite some time, managing to fall asleep some how untill something bumped into her. She jumped and looked around only to finally see all the infected that were around.

How come she didnt notice this?

What baffled her still was the fact that these infected still had their human forms which made her frown and question once more if this was the choice Jeff was talking about, the choice of fully becoming one with Creation or to lumber around like the infected before her, tending to the tower like what? Servants? The poor confused plant girl began to walk and ponder, never paying attention to where she was going until she nearly tripped over one of the infected tending the gardens.

Leiah started to reach out to her, but flinched and jumped back when the infected shot up, looking like they were watering the garden, but there was no watering can. She vaguely heard the words "Im sorry" over and over again even as it curled back up and cried some more. Leiah was about to leave the poor creature be, but she saw something that seemed like a pattern that tied in with all the other infected.

It was wearing a grey coat.

Upon closer inspection, Leiah also noticed a name tag for this one:

Bekki Shae?

The creature didnt even stir, so Leiah moved on, looking for some one familiar.

His travels had at last brought him to one final place that he had yet to encounter, and he rolled into the garden only to stop and just...take it all in for a moment, resting in his spherical shape for quite a few moments before he stretched up and into a more humanoid form. His gaze swept the room, taking in everything, from the foliage and flowers, to the giant tree that loomed high above, looking down on all of those below, to the grey coated infected that wandered around, seemingly intent on tending to everything.

Curious, he approached one of these, the leaves on his vines rustling as he moved, now on sturdy "limbs", towards the nearest of these, one who somehow managed to present an air of importance, despite what they had become.

"Hello?" He attempted to speak with it, but it ignored him, making odd sounds that he was somehow able to translate, not that it made any sense to him.

"Who?" He asked it. "Who shouldn't have? Who is she? What did she do?"

But again, he was ignored, and eventually, he gave up, a sigh breathing through his vines like a soft breeze as he turned away.

It was just at that moment that he noticed another, one who was familiar to him.

"Ah, Leiah!" He called towards her. "I didn't see you, there."

Leiah wasn't overly familiar with the shape that was starting to form, but she knew the "person" was like her in a sense so she walked up to the form, jumping when it said hello to her. "O-OH!!!! G!!! Haiii!!! Were you wandering too?" She looked at the infected that was missing half of its head, tilting hers in return. "What is that one saying? The one I found kept saying sorry and crying so much it was making me sad..."

G-Man grinned at her, in his mind, and with what capacity he still had left to grin with on the surface as well. "Yes, I have." His vine form nodded, "It seemed....important, to do so. To explore. To uh...maybe find a way out?" He didn't know if it was possible.

"After what Jeff said....." His "voice" trailed off, and he glanced behind him towards the infected he had only just tried to speak with.

"She said she shouldn't have, and the sacrifice was too great. When I tried to get more out of her....him...it? They wouldn't say anything else."

He glanced around at the rest of the infected in the room then. "Maybe some of the others are more lucid."
