She knew this was the end. She was obviously dead and this was the sort of place she had ended up in as punishment for everything she'd done. She had tried so hard to protect Max and the others. Her family had meant everything to her and she had failed them and wound up in front of this door she couldn't even look at. There really was no turning back for her. She had hoped for another chance for things and thought that this was it, and in a way it was. She'd fought so hard to escape the casino, to make her way through the fog, when in reality it was already too late for her. She was already infected, she just didn't want to admit it. She had been content with her new life, but now it was time for her to open the door and accept what was happening.
She walked through the door and broke out of her other form. Twisting, convulsing, growing. She warped into vines and became more than just Diana ever was. Her legacy was unfolding, shaping her into something more. Creation was her new existence, then again it had been her existence for some time. She felt herself being pulled away more, ripping apart from the larger whole and becoming a strange twisting form all her own. She was now a terrifying creature of vine and thorns, struggling to move forward in some way. It scared her that she was no longer human, that she would never be that again and be able to interact with those she'd grown fond of. If she could find her body just maybe she could get it back and become whole once more.
Feeling along the halls of this place she was hopeful when she came across a familiar body, but soon realized it wasn't her own. It was a girl, but not quite a girl. She was misty, see through....Kallan. She was Kallan. The odd girl who had pulled her from the fog and protected her for a while. Diana ran her strange vine appendages over the girl, feeling to see if she was awake. She needed to get her out of this place somehow. Kallan had helped her all she could and now it was her turn to do the same. It was her final way of helping. At least with that she could feel like she had done some sort of good. Dragging her along was difficult. Inch by slow inch she could feel herself unraveling and falling apart. If she could just make it to the doorway. People were there waiting for her. The light was close now. She had to help, had to get her out, had to make sure she was okay. That alone was driving her all the way until she pushed the girl out, her last bit unraveling and falling to the floor. Kallan wouldn't become infected. She would be safe from it all unlike her. Her last vines falling right before the doorway, she stay there content that she had helped someone. Finally she had done a good thing for someone. Finally she could rest and hopefully die before she lost herself completely.
