gaia_star [ The cage ]: You come across what can only be explained as a horrifically large cage, enough to contain hundreds of humans. You see it in the air, as you are no longer fully human, the lingering memories of those who had been trapped inside. They echo in the area as shapes and voices, and you feel only a great sadness that they were so incomplete.
(Roll 1d4 if you wish to look around - OPTIONAL - and match your dice roll to the results below. You can roll as much as you'd like!)
1. You come across a man in grey. His echo resonates as he shakes his head. "I volunteered because I expected to succeed. I failed. I understand now, it is because I had not accepted it when it was there in the first place. This is only my fault."
2. You come across a woman in grey. Her echo resonates. "I rejected it because this was not our organization's true intentions. This was originally not the knowledge we sought and the power was not something we should have handled in the first place. We once had good causes. We wanted to save people. We wanted to show the world that anyone could have helped, that everyone had a purpose."
3. You come across a man in grey. His echo resonates. "-- Means the serpent that consumes itself. We are the wildfire that comes from centuries of inactivity. The -- knew long ago all this knowledge and they kept it to themselves. They could have shared all of this in the world, they could have given back to humans but instead, they thought they were better than us. This is our trump card against them."
4. You come across a child wearing a mask. He is dressed entirely in green foliage. "It is true, these are the children who did not make it to Neverland. Not all can join us in this final voyage. We were never meant to harm any, it is the rejection that hurts the most. When all understand us, then we can finally rest. This is our legacy.." After he speaks this, he immediately disappears.

This was originally not the knowledge we sought and the power was not something we should have handled in the first place. We once had good causes. We wanted to save people. We wanted to show the world that anyone could have helped, that everyone had a purpose." The cage was perhaps the hardest discovery he found that day. While the other areas were strange, or confusing, this particular spot filled him with an unexplainable sorrow. What had happened here? What was the purpose of the cage?
These were the questions that ran through his mind as he carefully moved along the side of the cage. Occasionally he would look through the bars, which was when he came across a woman in grey.
She spoke of having rejecting something, claiming it whatever it was wait they aimed for. Though never actually saying what it was that she had rejected.

After he speaks this, he immediately disappears. He moved on, stopping this time in front of what appeared to be a child, who's face was hidden by a mask and dressed completely in foliage.
His words were a little unsettling to say the least. What was the final voyage? Who was rejected? What were they meant to understand?
Before he could ask, the child vanished from sight, leaving an empty space where he sat.

He paused in confusion, caused by the child's words and his sudden disappearance.
What had happened here?

This time a man in grey, who's echo resonated as his head shook.
They spoke of failure and that it was due to their inability to accept it.
What was 'it?'

Again he passed by the spot that the child had been, still unnerved by his words.

Out of curiosity, he lingered. Waiting to see if the child would appear, but there was no sign of him.

It was strange that the child had vanished. Both the man and the woman were still present. What had been different about the child?

He moved back and forth between the two. He wanted to ask them, but it was clear that they were long gone. These were merely echoes of the past. He would get no answer from them.

Just upon reached the exit, he noticed one other man, also dressed in grey, and like the others he spoke of similar things. Only this time the serpent was mentioned.
Did this have something to do with the serpent of that story he had read in the dining hall? What was the connection? More importantly, what was it these people were attempting to pull? Clearly whatever it was, it didn't go accordingly to plan. In fact, it looked like it had completely backfired on them.
What was it that they had done?
