Fall was coming and in some nights, it was already here. This evening was one of them. So Sailor Phact walked from the main street back into the fountain she 'claimed' as hers holding three drinks. For once those silly cardboard carriers were coming in handy.

"Arthur?" Phact called out as she set the carrier down on fountain ledge and pulled two drinks. She had drug Arthur out on her patrol this evening but before they started, there was one more thing that needed to be done.

Lifting her drink to her own lips, Phact smiled at the taste of the Pumpkin Spice Latte. "Yum. Your drink is here. Come enjoy it while we wait."

Summoning her senshi phone, Phact quickly looked down at it checking the time. Sabine should have been dropping by soon.

Sabine was rushing through the not so crowded streets, moving from shadow to shadow. She wasn't sure what to expect when she got there, she just knew she was running later than normal. She'd actually had to sneak out of her dorm. Her roommate had stayed up a bit later than she'd planned, and as such she was running behind when she said she'd be there.

She made a b-line for the fountain and when she saw Phact she waved over her head. She could feel her presence, and the presence of something else she hadn't ever before. Interesting.

It wasn't until she actually walked up that she realized there was a cat. She skidded to a stop, boots scuffing a bit against the ground as she did so. The cat was lapping out of a drink cup - his glasses all fogged up.

Wait... that cat was wearing glasses... Was that cat like Ballard?

Moving over she crouched down and held out a hand. "Hi, I'm Sailor Sabine, and you are?"

She wanted to get to know this coffee drinking cat. She also wanted to pet it - but that could wait.

The froth was savored, and he soon lapped up the latte slowly at first, mindful of his sensitive tongue, before it cooled in the chill breeze and he could drink it down more quickly. Tilting the cup against the rim of hte cardboard carrier carefully, he could tilt it to still lap and then tipped it entirely to get the few last drips from licking it off the fountain cement.

And sat.

Cleaned his paw.

Stared at the neglected third cup.

Looked at Phact.

Back at the cup.

Licked his other paw clean.

Glanced at the cup.

Wiped his face with his paw a few times.

Glanced at Phact and to the cup again, knowing it was getting colder now.

Such a waste.

He went back to licking the inside of his cup a moment, and glanced at that other cup.

Just as he was about to ask - Phact perked up and waved her hand to someone and he looked up. The third cup owner had arrived, and he turned, tongue still out from licking his cup, to look up at the red-head.

He looked over at her, to the offered hand, and back up. Poking his tongue back into his mouth, he gave a meow before he ahemed. Right. Senshi. He could talk. "I'm Arthur." He said, moving to dip under the hand and then rise his head into it. Clearly a hand met pets.

He rubbed against the hand a few times before sitting and glancing at the cup and back at her. "I kept your drink safe for you. It might not be warm now, so...if you don't want it..."

Bonus points to the reaction. It made everything worth the wait as the senshi of doves took a seat on the edge of the fountain to watch Arthur do what he did best: be adorable.

"Be careful Sabine. He will take your entire drink if you let him." She was smiling towards the cat she had come to care for. Strange since before Arthur, she could not stand guardian cats. But he was indeed something else.

It was the look of the puffed out cheeks hat Phact wince. "I'm sorry Sabine." She leaned back on her arm to relax a moment. "Arthur and I met awhile ago and my door is always open to him but like most adorable fluff balls, they have a mind of their own."

She looked towards Arthur and his love of the pets. "But better late than never? Forgive me?"

Sabine kept her cheeks puffed for a few more moments before finally relaxing them. "Of course I forgive you, I just wish I could have met him sooner is all." She said as she shot Phact a warm 'you are forgiven' smile. Turning her attention back to the cat in her lap, she slowly pulled the cup away from him and took a sip herself. Then lowered the cup back to him.

"To be fair, I'm actually plenty warm from running almost all the way here," She said with a small giggle. "My roommate stayed up a little later than usual - so I had to be very, very quiet when I snuck out."

Looking down at the cat in her lap, she smiled and scratched him behind the ears. "Because you are, Arthur, don't let anyone tell you otherwise." She relaxed a bit more before she smiled at Phact. "So what is the plan tonight? The usual?"

"I do not argue this, I simply think I'm a bit too old to be called adorable. I'm fully grown." He pointed out before perking up and moving over to drink from the cup a while. A lllooonnnggg while.

Pulling away from the cup, he took a paw to wipe his face and lowered his head at the mention of being taken along. He never went on a patrol.

Groaning, he turned about and moved up to lay across Sabine's shoulders. "Why would you look for them anyways? Wouldn't the park be safer?"

Standing up, Phact moved to throw her empty cup, Arthur's and the cup holder into the trash. "It's like Sabine says. We would be safer here for now but others, not so much. Those who have not awaken to powers or a call still do not understand what they are facing. "

Phact glanced at Sabine and started heading out of the park. "It's why I still do these patrols. Otherwise I would be home researching. Who knew there was so much about space and the moon to learn."

Sabine had to resist the urge to shrug. "We fight them, and then we destroy them so they can't hurt anyone else." She said with a smile to the cat on her shoulders. "Don't worry, you won't be in any danger. Phact and I will protect you!"

She turned and followed after the older woman, doing her best to give Arthur as smooth a ride on her shoulders as possible. She was still getting used to her boots though - they were not part of her usual wardrobe so they were a bit foreign to her still.
