Another door. There was almost more. Jay looked at the door blankly, his stomach rolled in chaos. His heart pounded and ached. He had been dreaming.... but how much of it was a dream? Was he dead?.....A dream you can't completely wake from sounded like death... a prison to be stuck in. Still, he reached to touch the door knob. Memories flashed rapidly in his mind. It went from the day he stood at his family's funeral, to the day he married his wife... to his new family's funeral. Tears rolled down his cheek as the memories continued to flash. The day he met July and the worth he felt when he helped him.. To the day he married him.. to... this. To having his family destroyed in front of him again. This... was how his life was meant to be. He wasn't meant to keep happiness. From the moment he was infected... he knew he was dead, he was gone. The virus had consumed him and it was time to give into death.

Stirring, something was still trying even though Jay was no long... just Jay. He was part of it... No, he was it... he was the virus. He could see in a whole new way... knowledge.... creation. He was a legacy. He was the very thing that he'd once feared... The virus that consumed memories of the once living, existence was only for collection... for harvesting.

Just as he felt himself start to sink into his role in the virus, something... said 'No.'

His legacy was a gift. He could infect those who remained... and collect even more.. he could be worth something.. he could be part of something greater.

'No, this is not what-.' It called out again.

His being would be used for harvesting... feeding... gathering..It's what he was.. what he always was.

'This is not what you are. You were once-' The voice called out, trying to get through to him.

This world was his barge... The memories would fuel his legacy!

'You are not creation, you cannot be, there is still so much that- ' The voice stumbled, trying to remain strong.
'- cannot be contained because your memories are not complete.'
What did it mean?.. not complete? It felt like something was pulling him, his conscious shifting and stirring.

He woke up, his conscious was aware but he couldn't move. He had no form.. no body. Panic invaded his consciousness; where was his body? what was he?.... What happened? He wanted to be himself again... but could that even happen now? Was he too late?

He frantically searched for his body; he needed it. He needed humanity. He needed to try to feel normal again. Memories flashed through his mind; ones with him and July eating dinner with their family... laughing and having fun. Sorrow and fear were all he felt. He needed his body! Jay called the vines to shift him into a more human-like shape... for the time being... this will be him.

He could actually see now... He could see the colors of green and the vines all around. He focused to keep the vines into shape, looking for his body... what remained of it. Hope spread throughout him. There was a face! The vines consumed it and it became apparent that this body... this face wasn't his. As he looked at it, memories of his dream came rushing back. It was Emet, that girl who tried to save him. She came to save him and was now to suffer the same fate as him. Guilt tugged at his fibers, reminding him of the guilt he had felt when he abandoned his family.

She had tried to save him.... and now.. Jayson brushed the vines from her and gently picked her up. For her sacrifice, he'd save her... a favor for a favor. As he lifted her, Emet had a death grip on someone else. Jay felt anxiety. It was her brother Avery... July's rescuer. He looked around but didn't see Jay. He shook Avery off of them.. He had only enough strength for Emet.

Moving further and further away from the core that was creation, Jay could feel himself unraveling slowly. He descended down the stairs, not being stopped which surprised him a bit. He made his way towards the exit. He looked through the window, into the fog to see shadows. He sensed they were uncontaminated and were likely the allies of this girl. He reached out to them with her, his vines thinning as he barely got her out. He watched as the shadows collected her then retreating back to the core. There were others like him.... That meant July as well... He needed to find him... He wanted to share their memories together before it all was gone... before what was left of them was gone.
