With her mission in mind and her phone put away, Sailor Phact turned her attention towards the first step of her task: traveling to la Casa de Carrington. Something inside of her told the senshi that this was going to be the easiest part of the mission.
Quickly leaping from her own home onto her neighbors, Phact felt her foot slip on the slanted roof. The lack of balance sent her face first with a thud onto the shingles as she slid about four feet down before her hands were able to slow herself. Jaw aching from the impact, Phact picked her head up and looked back up at the spot that had caused her to loose traction. It was there she saw the damaged shingle that her foot had caught on. ”No wonder they were complaining about a leak.” She groaned as her body started to feel the cold from being still. In slow motion, she got back to her feet and walked ever so slowly to the other side of the roof.
Four more slides, three barking dogs, one rotten hole and a frozen metal roof later, Phact finally found herself staring at the bedroom window of Hannah Carrington. Her jaw was bruised, her leg cut from a gutter and her over all body frozen. ”Neighborhood or not, I’m walking home.” She muttered to herself before making the last jump onto the Carrington’s roof. Climbing slowly down towards the window she was after, Phact turned her attention to the bedroom windows of the parents. The lights were off. So far so good.
Reaching over the ledge, she senshi slowly pulled up on the glass. The second good thing happened. Hannah had indeed left her window open. That did tell Phact that her friend most likely planned on sneaking back in at some point. If only people started paying attention to their children’s bedroom windows. Then the might have to just worry about the front door and that was easy to control.
Checking around her one more time to make sure no one was watching as someone snuck into the house, Sailor Phact dove into the window and landed with a light plop onto the bed. Had she not been on a time limit, there was a chance the girl would have stayed right there and taken a quick nap. Heck, she had earned it just getting there!
Finally she picked herself up off her ‘sister’s’ bed and made her way towards Hannah’s desk. Finding the lamp, a quick click and she pulled out the note book and a pen. The note was quick and easy.
-Woke up early. Delilah invited me over for breakfast. Be back later!-
Tearing the sheet off the top of the pad, Phact inhaled and clicked off the light. Now was the fun part. To avoid panic, Hannah would have put the note under her parents door. Which means she now had to sneak out of the room, down the hall, slip the note under the bed, pray Hannah’s father didn’t wake up, and get out of the window…
Easy right?
By the time she made it back to the roof of the house, Phact was pretty sure she was going to have a heart attack. Hannah’s father had woken up and gone to use the restroom. Thank the lord she could hide in the hall closet until he returned. Had she stopped breathing?
“Hannah…you owe me…” Phact sighed as she saw the dawn begin to break in the sky. It was going to be a long day…
