“Vaaaaaaal,” Azrael sing-songed, with casual disregard for the ears of anyone in the vicinity, “Oh, Vaaaaaaal!”
Azrael flew low across the territory, scoping out the nooks and crannies where his beloved Rangvaldr spent his time. He had only just returned from a scouting mission with his father, a week-long affair that nearly resulted in their capture, and enjoyed the respite that came with entering Val’s herd. The herd alpha, Smaug, was a territorial beast, and none but its members and accepted guests were allowed to set foot within. It was one of the few places where he could take a break from his family and his responsibilities, and he intended to take full advantage of it.
“Oh Val-eo, oh Val-eo, wherefore art thou Val-eo?”

Val, like always was training hard in the grounds of his father's land. there was never a moment when he was not working hard to prove himself to his father, except when there was a certain male around who had a way of distracting him. And, like clockwork the moment his thoughts wavered from his duty he heard that sing song voice that made chills run along his spine. How Az could be so happy was beyond him, but maybe it was the way Az acted that kept Val wanting the male around.
It did not take long for the male to turn his attention from the dwarf and in that second it took the chance and ran off across the land for the nearest place to hide from the spawn of evil."Az, your back it would seem" Val said, flicking up those ears at the sound of little feet scurrying across the ground.
A heavy sign rolled from his lips. "Now see what you did?" He took flight, those thick heavy wings beating against the air, and soon he was upon the dwarf, dropping down with a heavy thud, those clawed feet spreading out around the dwarf, nearly crushing it under his massive weight. "And where do you think you are going?" His lips pulled back in a smirk as the dwarf only gulped to hold back a scream. "I do not see why my father hates you so, your not worth the effort most times." With that he picked it up and tossed it in the top of a large pen, slamming the top shut and turning his attention back to the multi winged mate that had finally returned home. If only Val knew how to admit when he missed someone. Poor thing will have to learn some day.

“Miss me?” Azrael winked, landing with a deft snap of his wings and walking smoothly towards the large stallion. He watched as Val made short work of the dwarf, eyes half-lidded with quiet appreciation. He was not his father, and did not value another’s strength for the purpose of harnessing it, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t admire it, either.
“Was that my fault? I’m sorry,” he said sweetly. There was not the slightest sign of remorse in his tone, but he laughed and craned his head to plant a kiss on the stallion’s cheek. The significance of the closed pen was not lost on him, either. It was important to the both of them that they live up to their father’s expectations, and it was not often that Val was willing to take a break from his work. What better way to take advantage of this opportunity than to have a little fun?
“My good sir,” he said, adopting a mock-formal air, “I’m afraid I’m new to this establishment. Perhaps you could take me to the baths? I would be ever so grateful...”

Leaning against the kiss Val almost forgot that he was standing in the training filed. Though it did not last long before he glanced over at Az. "I do not see a point in missing someone when you know they are going to come back." Yep that was val in a nutshell. "And no point in saying sorry we both know it is beneath you." He smirked showing a flash of those fangs before he moved around the smaller male, his ears shifting to make sure he missed nothing Az said.
Stifling a chuckle Val glanced over at A and snorted. "Nope, maybe I was wrong it just might not be beneath you." He said with a slight chuckle. Those eyes scanned the area for a moment before he looked back to Az. "Actually after a good workup from training I could use a bath." He stretched out those long wings and wrapped one around Az and pulled him close. "The baths are right this way." Az was not headed to the public baths though. he was going to try his luck and take Az into his own privet bath area, lest around to cat call and tease the hybrid for having Az around.

Azrael smiled; while Val’s stoic clips may have deterred others, Azrael was thrilled to know Val was confident in his return and his loyalty. Having been raised amongst the politics of his family, he was always attuned to the dynamics of power. Knowing he inspired such trust from another was invigorating; in this case, however, Azrael had no ulterior motive. It felt strange to know he had power over someone, with no intentions of using it – strange, but not uncomfortable.
In spite of his three sets of wings, he was not much larger than Val; on the contrary, his head barely stood above the dragon’s shoulders. He was dwarfed easily, willingly, by that clawed wing, and took advantage of the act to bury his nose in Val’s feathered mane and press against his side.
“You are smelly,” he agreed cheerfully, the scent of sweat and foam accompanying the stallion’s naturally sulfuric aroma. “I suppose we don’t have much of a choice, but to stay there for a year or three.” This was delivered with a mournful tone, as if he regretted it had come to this; his steps, however, betrayed his eagerness. He easily kept stride with the larger stallion, stepping over the burning globs of liquid gold with practiced ease.

With a wrinkle of his nose he sniffed the air. He would have to take Az at his word because this stallion could only smell the scent of his melting gold, and the smell of the stallion next to him. Though it was likely due to the fact he was used to his own scent. "Well, if you do not wish to spend such time with me, you can always spend it with your family." He teased slightly as he nosed at Az's ear with a soft whiff, enough to make the fur tickle against the flesh of his ear.
The monster of feather and scales came to a stop for a moment to glance around before slipping into a large cavern entrance, slipping back into the shadows of the dark until they were in a single room, there with a single breath the candles lit aflame showing a large pool set in the shadows of the flame. Lights danced along the walls, making the gem laid cave flicker in bright colors.
"I do not think I have ever brought you here have I? Welcome to my personal bath." Being the first born had advantages no? Most of all, no one laughing and teasing him of his choice in partners, or the fact that his partner was around, it only infuriated the young male. "So, all this enough to make you mine forever?" he asked with that smirk that was hard to determiner if it was as a torture pet or as a mate.

“Yes, I suppose I must,” Azrael said, drawing a wing to his forehead dramatically. He made as if to leave, but only stretched his neck far enough to pluck flowers off a passing tree and tuck it behind Val’s ear.
His interest, only cursory before, piqued now that they were heading towards their destination. He had expected them to enter the public baths, but this way was unknown to him. The herd lands were vast, and he did not yet know the full extent of what it offered.
When they entered the cave, he stood closer, trusting Val to know the way despite the darkness. But when the large stallion set the room alight, he gasped, and his steps carried him ahead.
“Oh, Val,” he breathed, his wing cutting against the still waters as he circled the pool. “It’s beautiful.” And it was.
His many eyes glimmered, reflecting the candle’s own light and peeking out between strands of hair, like gems themselves. He walked slowly, admiring the raw form of the treasures and the artfully placed light. Val was, like most dragons, proud of his treasures. But Azrael got the feeling that that alone was not enough to account for the effort that had gone into the room, and that, perhaps, another soquili had also served to motivate him.
“Oh, but forever is so far away,” he said, admiration masked behind a coy façade. He slid back towards Val, teasing him with a submissive display. “You might grow bored of me; and then what? I would be left to wash away, lost and forgotten, and all alone.”
