All around him Raisuke could just barely make out the blurry shapes of other creeple...probably walking over and hugging humans, actually. Was that really safe? Wouldn't they get hurt?
No one seemed hurt, although sometimes you couldn't really tell. Also, it was hard to see, so perhaps he was just blind to their grimaces of pain.

Well - in all honesty, Raisuke didn't really care. Sighing, he bent down to - to hug his human, thankful that it was at least shorter than he was. So there were some small dignities left to this business, were there? She was a little heavier than he'd expected, though, although in all fairness Raisuke had never dragged anyone anywhere. At least he wasn't very far from the portal. Just six feet and then he could go home, right? And then he could wash all the human off.
Sounded good, to him, in all honesty.
He dropped the human, which had a squishy midsection, just as he reached the portal. Then he began rolling it instead.
What? For some reason, he felt tired, and hugging it had sapped his strength or something. Human skin poison, probably.
The thing was, once it was inside the portal, another one didn't appear for him to take. Raisuke waited around for a few minutes before resigning himself: he guessed he was supposed to follow it. Was he going to be debriefed for letting it stop talking?
It had never really started talking in the first place, but, you know...

This was not Amityville.
Of course it wasn't, Raisuke chided himself. No matter how much anyone wanted him to save humans, no one wanted him to bring one into Halloween. It'd probably poison everyone.
Instead he was...somewhere he didn't recognize. Great. A long black road stretched out before him, and behind him was a tall silver box-shaped building that looked incredibly flat and had a lot of little windows. Looking up at it made his eyes want to water, so he stopped, trying to locate the po -
What was that feeling? He was shaking. Was this a side effect of touching the human's skin? He'd thought he'd been pretty careful - it was wearing a lot of layers. He'd kind of checked.
No, no. Something dangerous was behind him. It was something made of concentrated Fear, and he'd never felt anything as strange-seeming before. What was going on? It spoke directly into his mind, or at least: as far as Raisuke could tell, it was trying to speak. It was...it wasn't a single being, but a mass of Halloweeners, assimilated into its personality. And its vines reached out as though it thought it could take Raisuke and his new human, too...
Without much of a second thought he grabbed his human and stuck it on his back, beginning to make a run for it. It was second nature to slip into his natural form, an eight foot tall horse with a fluffy tail and a long spiraling horn.
So it wasn't that intimidating, but carrying the human was easier now, which was a very good thing with that thing at Raisuke's back. Why had they sent him here without warning?

It was only by luck that Raisuke understood that it might be worth it to check out the vehicles lining the highway. The thing was, there weren't very many of them. The closest one with a key still on it was...a small motorbike? It was barely big enough for two humans, and Raisuke was panicking as he shifted back into his student form. He was so tiny...but this thing had to be faster than him, right?
He stuck the human onto it in front of him, already accustomed to the limp way it flopped onto his chest, and gunned the pedals, sparking with panic as they went. He needed to get away...

This thing was not fast enough for Raisuke's taste. Why couldn't one of the bigger vehicles have had their keys conveniently lying inside them? They didn't get very far - oh, that was the portal; good, but why was it still so far away? Could Raisuke go any faster?
Something slammed into him from behind, and Raisuke felt terror run up his spine. This thing was nearly pure FEAR, and it seemed like it knew him well, which was never really a good prospect. Also, it was strong.

Well, Raisuke wasn't gonna spend time dwelling on how ******** slow this thing was. Or on how much that'd hurt. Why hadn't he decided to just ditch the human again?
Oh yeah. He was being evaluated on this, probably. If he ever made it back to Halloween again...he pushed his feet furiously at the gas pedals. Where were Apex pets when you needed them? His dragon could fly, and Raisuke missed it.

It was relentless, and it seemed like it was getting faster. Or maybe Raisuke was just getting tired. Was it proximity to humans that was poisonous again? He'd forgotten, and he'd had his face curled around its neck so that he could see where he was going for the past...well, the past little bit.
He managed to travel slightly farther again before it slammed into him from behind, a vine curling around his back wheel to attempt to pull him back. Raisuke kicked at it as hard as he could, attempting to focus the static within his body to get it to - let - ahhh.
Free, for a moment.

The portal was closer than before, familiar and orange. Well, there was a blue one next to it, but...Raisuke wasn't going to pay attention to that. He just needed to get this human and also himself through that portal. Then he'd be safe, he'd get to go back to <********> school, and -
Okay, he was here. Stop thinking, just push human th -
It awoke with a roar. Raisuke jumped back. "No!" it screamed in a high-pitched voice. "No, no, no!" Its little fist smashed against his chest and he was forced to drop it.
"What the ******** is - get in the portal!"
"No, no, no - where's Corgi - did you kidnap - " it was saying, but the portal was gone, and the human had collapsed again. Raisuke stumbled for shelter.
