Olga disrupted his routine enough that Sergei had resorted to avoiding the woman by moving his usual 6 am morning jogs to a more reasonable early time in which he didn't see the white haired crazy woman. 3am was no different on a ship, then it was on the mainland. Dark, quiet and cool. He didn't mind it.
He for goed taking Noel with him, since she was still a barker at strange forms. He slipped the earbuds in and started down his normal path, circling one of the many large park areas. Ten minutes into his run, he knew. Someone was stalking him. He felt his muscles tense in predatory mode, his gaze slipping behind him.
Nothing.
But he could hear the quiet taps of claws, and he registered it as something not human. Probably a coyote, too far from the woods. Raccoon. But the growl was deep and low and loud. Too loud for a small coyote, or wolf.
He started running faster, towards an alleyway. Dead end. Stupid. Careless. That's what he got before learning the city. He turned his body around and braced himself for the creature he face. It was a shadowy lean figure, the size of a car but the jaws of a hound from hell. It was unnnatural, unbelievable. Sergei wanted to be surprised, but he traveled to many lands. Saw many things. Humans that were monsters, and monsters that were more then kind. He had seen to many things.
He didn't have a weapon in mind when the stamp appeared, floating by him. It was the weirdest thing, he would recall later, when he took the stamp in hand, intending to throw the sticky object to the side. To clear his sight from the monster. A burst of light and a new uniform later, Sergei was scowling at his attire.
And still very much cornered by a large creature he didn't know how to explain.

It was drawing near the end of her patrol. She had not run into anyone or anything for the past hour or more and as the clock ticked away the hours closer to sunrise Polaris knew she'd eventually need to get home and get a few hours of sleep. Thank god for college classes and the ability to schedule them for not 7 or 8 in the morning. The senshi had in fact turned already, setting her feet in the direction of home, though the path was slow and dutiful.
There was something that was bothering her. A feeling.. like the hair at the back of her neck prickling. Of unease and discontent. Over what she had no clue whatsoever. It didn't feel like stress, even though she did have plenty of that. It didn't feel like a normal sick ache from over worrying about something. But try as she might she could not shake the feeling, that plagued her as she walked.
Her mouth was in a tight frown, unaware of the man nearby in danger (or the fact that he himself was the one causing the strange discomfort she felt). It was not in fact until he found himself in the dead end when her heart suddenly began to pound, as if she were the one in grave danger. And suddenly she was off, boots pounding the pavement as she ran, in a direction she knew without even knowing. She didn't even need the sudden spark of a knight's aura to tell her where she was going.
Polaris could not see the knight when she arrived, only the back side of the large youma that blocked the alleyway. But her nerves were already firing at a mile a minute and without hesitation her hand lifted. "Super magnetic field!" With a groan and a rattle the large dumpster against the alleywall began to slide pinning the monster, at least briefly, between it and the wall. A single leap put her on top of the dumpster, perhaps not the best position to be in with a monster struggling against it or a skirt quite so short. But her suspicions were confirmed.
A knight of Polaris. She could help but smile a little despite the very inappropriateness of the moment.Pixie Nyxie You want him to help fight it, yes? biggrin If not I can just have her princess up and dust him with her tiara, but I figured he'd want to lend a hand.

Sergei was thinking of a million things he could do to attempt to get the beast back. Other thoughts were, he was glad he didn't bring Noel, he was upset that Olga forced him out at such an hour, and who in their right mind made a creature like this and let it loose.
His own heart was pounding, and he felt the his newly gloved hand struggle to find anything. The creature snapped it's jaws at Sergei, growling. Warning him. This is not what he expected after coming home from the war. This is not how he thought he would go, even if had been in the battlefield. he would grow old, perhaps with a wife of his own one day.
It snapped again and coiled itself to lunge. He waited for the dig of teeth but it never came. Instead the youma was held against the wall by a garbage can, sporting a very shortly dressed woman.
He stared at her and then moved. The creature was pinned. He broke of a piece of a pipe from one of the alley's walls, surprised that it gave away so easily and shoved the pipe in the creatures maw.
"Vhat....The ********." He looked up at Polaris now. "Vhat is this?"

The accent on his words was interesting and foreign but unfortunately not something she could enjoy or think about at that very moment. A topic for a different time, hopefully.
The dumpster shook as the creature struggled for freedom and Polaris shifted and swayed herself, trying to keep her balance as she sought out another weapon to use. She was half tempted to simply jump on and try to stomp at the creature, but as big as it was she doubted that'd do much. Luckily the knight was already thinking on his feet as well.
With a hop she landed in front of the youma, semi near Sergei, answering his question as she pivoted to face their opponent again. "They call them youma. But monsters is a perfectly fine description too."
"The Negaverse sets them loose and they roam the city looking for people to eat." If Polaris were the sort to use profanity she'd have quite a few colorful words and descriptors for the Negaverse. Not that there wasn't plenty of time left for that in the future anyway.
"Watch your head alright." She piped up the cryptic warning before speaking the name of her weaker and more chaotic attack. "Magnetic field." The noise of metal rattling in the alleyway was loud as small pieces began to shoot from every corner of the tight alleyway towards the youma - the dumpster and pipe also reacting mildly trying to press themselves even further into the struggling creature.
Maybe if they were lucky the attack would draw some more useful debris in to help them take out the large youma.

Beringia had a lot of feelings, but most of them ended on a very strong denial of what was going on. Things like this was deserved from the imagination of a deluded writer, out to boost supernatural stories. Or comic books.
But Polaris handled herself with a confidence and strength that Beringia recognized as a veteran solider of battle. Even if it was...a odd battle. She looked to young to be such, but he had seen children carry guns before. This seemed a lot like a war.
"Is Monster." He muttered, "Straight from nightmares. This haunts the nights?" He asked her as she used her magic again and watched in awe.
"How are you doing this?" He waved his hand, as objects of the metal nature attached and pierced the beast. It howled loudly, scraped its nails on the growl and snapped at them. Beringia barely missed getting a few teeth in his arm.
"How do ve kill it?"

"Unfortunately so. Sometimes even during the day..." He seemed to be taking it... okay at least? Definitely better than average. He hadn't gone running or screaming. Nor was he simply looking at his uniform and professing ever curse word he knew. She had seen both happen in the past. Though it was pretty hard to deny a monster when it was looming there right in front of you. Claws and teeth ever present, the heat of it's breath and moisture of it's snarling spit a telling show that it was not some simple illusion. It still didn't stop many newly awakened senshi and knights from freezing in surprise and uncertainty.
But not him. He even seemed fairly... calm under the pressure, cool headed. Which was both strange but terribly wonderful given the groan of the dumpster as the beast succeeded in pushing it, a sign that it would likely break loose soon.
"Its magic actually.. Magic and magnets." Her words were almost apologetic, as if she knew it was a lot to ask of him to believe. Perhaps it would be a little easier to believe however as the girl was suddenly encased in a sharp flash of light, a light that when it faded left behind a quick change in wardrobe. A long dress replaced the short uniform from before, pristine white wings stretching out with a jingle of crystals and metal. Instinct told her to reach for her forehead but she worried the creature wasn't weakened enough yet, that it might just bat away her tiara like it were a cheap toy. Instead her mind took inventory of the litter scattered around them.
His next question was much easier to answer. "You just hit them with whatever you can. Eventually as they weaken they'll explode into dust." And she led by example, crouching to pick up the couple of screws she felt nearby. She was a light girl, one that didn't rely very much on hand to hand combat but even her punches would do some damage with the help of two screws peeking out from each side of her middle finger - a crude knuckle weapon. Ducking in quickly she threw one punch at the monster's chest before retreating backwards, trying to keep the flowing fabric of her dress from getting caught by the claws of the beast.Pixie Nyxie If you wanna have him hit it one or two more times I'll have her tiara it after that. ;3

Well.
Well. Then. Well then. Beringia stared at the creature and reached out carefully. He pulled the original pipe out that he would think fondly of for this battle. The creature snapped and howled and crawled, while Polaris magic was starting to fade.
"I see." He gruffed and then slammed the pipe down as hard could on the creatures head. It went limp for a second and then started again.
"How many times." He muttered, feeling almost bad for the creature. It was slow and he was sure painful. He preferred to have a quick clean and easy death. War was not always kind that way.
What was more interesting was the woman with him. She moved with ease and practice. Even in a dress. Her wings made her seem angelic, but she fought like a Valkyrie.
"Vhat are you, young woman?"

The pipe landed with a force that was far harder then she could have hit with, enough to actually slow the youma for a moment before it finally struggled forward. It was clearly showing signs of fatigue after their combined attacks, and Polaris took the chance, her dainty heels clicking against the alley as she backed up a few steps quickly.
"The small ones usually only need to be hit a couple of times. But the bigger ones can be be quite a bit tougher." Some were so big they required a whole mess of opponents to take them down. "I think it might be weak enough now though." She stated, half in response and half thinking out loud. With a tap against her forehead the tiara formed at her fingertips beginning to spin and glow. And with a flick of the wrist the golden energy went flying before sinking into the creature. It howled before showering the two of them in youma dust, gone forever, never to return to the Rift or the streets of Destiny again.
As her tiara returned to her Polaris coughed a little, fingers trying in vain to wipe the layer of dust off of her. Lucky for her she had his question to distract her. Unlucky for him, Polaris could be a little bit of a ham.
"Sailor Polaris, senshi of magnetism." Her wings rustled as she shifted to a more proper and proud stance. "A guardian of Destiny City and the people in it. And you... you are a knight."
"One of mine actually." She added, pretty excitedly at that, until she realized that it was pretty rude to just be like 'hey you, I just showed you crazy stuff - swear your loyalty to me'.
"I mean..." She backtracked with a little bit of a smile, brushing back her bangs mildly. "We share the same star. You are a knight of Polaris. What's your name?" His knight name or his real name, she didn't care. How lucky and exciting was it that she got to be here and see this? A genuine awakening of one of her own.

There was small ones. Big ones. He assumed it was a sign of power levels. Small usually meant weak. Though Polaris was small and not very weak. He watched in wonder at her attack, as it decimated the youma in one fell swoop of the disc.
One they were sprayed with dust, the knight brushed his shoulder off and sighed.
He sighed deeply.
"This has explained the metal flying." He crossed his arms and a small frown formed as he looked at her. He didn't particularly feel that he was a knight...Oh wait, she was speaking truthfully.
Like a medieval kingdom?
"If I am your knight, then I am your knight. Vhy vould have to believe anything else?" He cocked his head, "I have name..." It sorta of popped in his head a bit. "Beringia." He narrowed his eyes. "Vhat does it mean?"

The dust was everywhere. In her hair, all over her dress, on the hands she was trying to use to clean herself off with. It was a useless struggle but she tried nonetheless subconciously her hands ever sweeping as her eyes fell on the knight.
He was very... stoic... but not in the same way as Niflhel. Almost an antithesis to the overly excitable Sutai. But regardless he stood there, agreeing to and accepting the things she told him. She was surprised, but not at all unpleased.
He also asked a lot of questions - which wasn't a bad thing and also wasn't something she was unused to, training after all to be a teacher. How many afternoons had she spent with her youngest brother as well, back when he was tiny, trying to dig up answers to the endless stream of 'whys' he'd assault her with.
"Many people don't want to believe that this has happened to them. But I am happy that you'll accept me. As your princess I'll do my very best to help you however I can."
"Beringia..." The name was spoken thoughtfully, the tone almost affectionate. What did it mean...? "Well, up on the star Polaris there is a wonder called Beringia. It's the place that will supply you with the power you need to fight. You take care of it and it takes care of you."
"I can take you sometime if you like?" She offered as her hands finally fell to her sides.

He stared at her.
"Star iz ball of fire." He didn't shift much in attention, but wariness was there. "How can visit star? Wonders? That doesn't make sense." He scowled now, narrowing his eyes.
"What do I do, as a knight for you." He wondered why such a thing as a magic princess was talking to him. What made him qualified to be brought into a world behind the scenes?
It was like small pieces were connecting together. Terrorism, the girls in white flashes on the news. The missing people. he wondered what he had come home too, that made it different then the wars where he had been stationed. Iris_Virus So he accepts magic and princess, but he's like haha space. And she stared back at him, offering him little more then a shrug and a very apologetic smile. "That is what we were taught in school but... ironically our star is actually covered in a lot of snow. And very very cold."
"I'm not sure exactly how the magic works but all you have to do is clear your head and think about going there. And then there you'll be at Beringia. Or if you hold my hand I can take us both to the central city of Polaris." It indeed didn't make sense, but it made it no less true, and he wasn't going to slip her up that easily. Polaris was nothing if not patient.
"Ahh, well you just help people who are in trouble really. That's the most important job." The hand the was not being held out in offering lifted up, a finger pointing upward to exclaimate the point. "You can kill those monsters so they don't hurt people. Or more mudane ways as well. I've helped stop purse snatchers and robbers before." And saved kittens out of sewers.. and all other ridiculous superheroy things.
"If you want to attack our real enemies as well that is okay too." She added after a moment. "But I think maybe you should get used to your powers with the monsters first. The Negaverse is even more dangerous than the monsters it sends out at night."Pixie Nyxie Keep talkin Sergei, she can go allllll night 8D

He was still staring at her. But the look was more of his usual stoicness, rather then the heavy annoyed scowl, or look of bafflement.
"I will not go yet." He decided. "You will give me time and training to adjust to this?" He waved his hand, it was a question, almost a plea if it weren't for the face he was making. "Once I have trained. I will go to this...Wonder, and this star? Your kingdom." He sighed, looking down at her and then stepping closer.
She was smaller then him. Younger. That was worrisome. At the same time though, she was his princess, and perhaps that meant something. He would have to ask...when it wasn't 3am.
"How do I take it off?" He looked at her and then waved his hand at the pastel colored clothing. "Also, do I zwear a loyalty to you? Is there an oath?" He didn't quite understand knights, but he understood commanders.

"Of course!" She responded with an immediate nod at his request, her offered hand falling back down to her side. "There is no rush at all for that kind of thing. Take all the time you need to settle in." How long had she been a senshi before she ever visited Polaris? It seemed so very long ago that she couldn't even remember.
He was sighing, a lot, the look on his face less than pleased. But he also stepped closer. Her expression was mild, but obviously pleased, though she had to bite back an embarrassed laugh when he asked about an oath. "Ohh, no no. You don't have to say anything. Not if you don't want to." If he wanted to then that was fine too she guessed, Niflhel probably would have made up something on the fly, just to embarrass her, especially the poetic Niflhel of the past. "Choosing to power up again and do your job is pledge enough." And if he didn't... well she'd be greatly disappointed but.. what else could she do?
"You just have to clear your mind and think. That is how most things work." She explained thoughtfully, wishing she had more concrete directions. Senshi had pens after all but knights... "When you feel the need to power up you just think about becoming Beringia. Or you think about your weapon to will it to you." What was his weapon? She hadn't noticed anything around him.
"I just think, I would like to be Aurora again." And as if on request there was another quick flash of life before the magic was gone leaving nothing but a young woman in front of him. She looked even less like a warrior now. Just a young woman in a sensible blouse and ankle length skirt, digging through pockets for a cellphone. "By the way. Since you probably do not have your ring yet I can give you my number. That way if you ever need help or have more questions you have a way to reach me." Aurora very rarely had problems with giving away her identity, especially when it came to something like this, one of her knights. But usually she was the type to assure the other person that they didn't need to identify themselves if they didn't want to. Those assurances were left silent for this one, feeling it'd draw an answer similar to his quick acceptance to the fact that he was her knight.Pixie Nyxie *pinches his adorably grumpy cheeks* >w< So much tempt to make up a horrible loyalty oathhhhh

"I would like to be Sergei again." He announced, repeating her words.
It didn't happen at first.
"I would like to be Sergei..." He pouted, crossing his arms and the glamour of Beringia faded. It left him with dark hair and eyes, and if Polaris looked closely, it was a lot like Methone's/Nadia's.
"I would like that." He pulled out his phone.
and then waited for her number.
