Vashti struggled to pick up the human, though they were similar in size. Perhaps it was because they were similar in size. After a failed attempt to drag her human with her arms around her waist (which slid up to her armpits), the princess opted for the less dignified route of draping her unconscious charge over her entire body and hauling herself back the ten yards with her tail. It was much more difficult than anticipated, but she managed to get her to the exit with careful slithering. This wasn't so hard.

You can't really tell how old she is; she looks like she's 17, but all Asians look 17 until they're like 60 so that isn't a very good measure. Dressed like Ellen Reid, but with a chain wrapped loosely around her right wrist.
Upon reaching her portal, Vashti turned and shoved her human neatly inside before following behind, tail coiled tightly to expedite the process.
The other side was clearly not where they were meant to go. There were more vehicles around, but it was mostly an empty stretch of road. This was not a safe place for a slumbering human, no way. There was a tower of sorts in the distance, but like the strange humanoids near their starting point, she found her head hurt to look at it. As she turned away, however, her head filled with whispers and screaming so intense it sent her reeling.
We will consume you and your Fear with be ours.
Above her was a massive creature that unravelled into thousands of thorny vines and grasping hands. Oh no, this was bad. This was worse than the time Ahriman dumped a bucket of ice on her in her sleep. Finding renewed strength outside of the fog, Vashti took the opportunity to pick up her human and flee the other way down the road as fast as her tail could take her.

As Vashti fled down the road, she could see the buildings along the highway crumbling into more and more of the vines, reaching toward her with alarming haste, and the fog was coming back. And then suddenly, everything was much, much bigger than it was. She stopped in confusion before she realized what had happened: she had somehow been switched into her tiny, tiny natural form. The vines and the hands and the screaming were still fast approaching, so she did the first thing that came to mind: she burrowed into the ground and up under her human, hooked the blades on her shoulders into the woman's clothing, and kept going. She could only imagine how ridiculous this must look on the outside: the unconscious human sliding down the road.
They made it halfway to their goal, a new portal she could see in the distance, before the hands caught up. They felt like fire running down the length of her body, grasping at her as as she clawed desperately onward. Renewed panic set her fleeing faster even as her arms and tail tired.

She almost halved the distance again before they caught up, whispering to her and trying to pick her up along with her human. The swift world serpent grabbed at the earth, spearing her tail into the ground as an anchor before pulling herself and her human forcefully away. You will not have her, beast!

She didn't make it far before the hands were upon her again, and the vines, trying to wind around her as she went. She was small, so small, and she was tiring. Only thoughts of survival kept her going now, her arms burning as she hauled herself forward and carved a groove into the earth as she went, clinging to it and throwing her shoulders forward with each stride to keep her blades firmly hooked onto her human.

She barely noticed that her pursuer(s?) had stopped chasing her as she approached the portal. She took care to unhook herself from her human and slithered up and around, tongue flicking as she examined her for injuries. She didn't smell any blood, and she seemed totally unbruised. Nothing, somehow. She sighed in relief just in time for her skull pin to reactivate, dumping her back in her human form directly on top of her human. Oof.
At least it gave her a chance to flip her over and brush the dirt off her clothing. It was remarkably durable, not a tear, and it would be a shame to let such nice clothes stay so filthy, even in a survival situation.

As she moved to heft up her human again, in her more manageable student form, Vashti was surprised to find her charge had begun to rouse. She took an elbow to the face before she realized her human was trying to fight her off, albeit groggily. She struggled to shrug the woman off her shoulders again as she took more elbows and fists to her person.
"Fighting only delays your salvation!" she cried as she shoved off the thrashing woman, wrapping her tail (carefully) around her instead. Unfortunately, by the time her human calmed again, seemingly sliding back into her bizarre slumber, Vashti looked back toward where the portal had been only to find nothing.
Well. This is unfortunate.
