It is just a run down city now, with not a single bandit in sight. There are however, a surplus of undead and undying in the area.
Somehow he had gotten turned around and ended up in what looked like a ghost town. Except no ghosts?? Just...the weird black things that weren't even chewy and were all about wanting his human, which...no??? Although Wrex couldn't help but wonder how he was going to explain saving things to the clan when his mission was to be conquering and destroying and eating everything.
At least the radio was nicer and didn't try nibbling. The problem was, tiny t rex arms did not make good holding ones, and with talons that large...
"HELLO??" he yelled into it, scrabbling to hit the clicker. "I AM WREX! HI? HUMAN IS SAFE!"

Something was making a lot of noise in this direction! Canon pattered after the sound, until she was close enough to hear that it was a monster yelling into a radio.
"Hi!" Canon called out, immediately scampering over. It was good to see another Monster, and this guy was huuuuuge!
"It's interesting that there aren't any of those not-human things here, considering how loud you are!" she observed, eye stalk swiveling to take in their surroundings. "Maybe they're scared of you?"
She swung her tail at him, a swipe that deliberately missed.
He turned around (accidentally knocking out a weak part of a fence with his tail while doing so) and perked. Scared of him? Really?? Wrex stamped his feet in ultimate triumph.
"HELLO CANON INDY, I AM WREX!" he repeated, just in case she couldn't tell. And in true Daggerback fashion, he greeted her with a tailswipe with every intention to knock her over, small size or not--Wrex simply had been taught that a weak slap was equivalent to a limp handshake.
Nor did he quite understand why something that looked just like him was staring at them now.
Was it another Daggerback? For a moment he got excited and thought of Brute, his twin, but...wait. Brute wasn't all black. Someone else? Enemy! He began to snarl and stepped over his new monster-y friend to confront them.

Canon was getting mixed signals here. Getting bowled over during a greeting was generally considered an invitation to spar, but instead of engaging her, Wrex stomped over her and attacked something else. Canon hopped to her feet and darted over to get a better look.
Oh! She knew what this was! She'd encountered one already, except that it had looked like Canon, not like Wrex. Fascinating!
Perhaps Wrex had been inviting her to fight his double! That satisfied the little Skark's sensibilities, but she'd been taking a beating all day. So, she pulled a set of supplies that she'd taken off her human out of a few of her breathing holes, and used them to patch herself up.

Feeling better, Canon eagerly joined the fray. Aaaand missed.
Oh no, Tiny Canon was joining the fight! It meant he had to be more careful instead of just brutally mauling the heck out of this...whatever the heck it was. It was an unusual response, as normally Wrex shouldn't have given a second thought to more collateral damage, but....but smol monster friend tho. (And maybe guarding a human had activated a sense of common courtesy, who knew?)
"I AM WREX!" the shadow roared.
"NU UH I AM!" the boil managed to say around the handle of his weapon.
"FAAAAAKE!"
He snarled and bopped the frying pan on its nose in retaliation. The shadow actually looked confused for a second.

"Nice hit!" Canon encouraged him, admiring how the large boil handled the weapon when he didn't have hands to hold it. She was oblivious to Wrex's struggle not to just completely destroy the area and everything in it, including her. Skarks tend to hunt in groups, using numbers to make up for their small stature. Giant lizards weren't her normal prey creature, but Canon had fought a dragon before! This couldn't be much harder than that!
Actually, that gave her an idea! Running as fast her chicken legs could take her, Canon headed for the shadow Wrex's tail, and jabbed at it with her stinger, looking to get a tail-hold on the limb. She wasn't terribly effective, though. The Shadow Wrex swept the tail out, and simply bowled her over instead.
Perhaps seeing Smol Monster Frand get knocked over like that pushed a button. Or maybe he was just too insulted that something was wearing his face that wasn't his brother. Either way, Wrex was particularly enraged and vocalized it, howling as he smashed against the mob and forced it away from Canon Indy by a good handful of yards.
"GEH ON BAHK," he growled at her around the frying pan, thumping his tail as a sort of invitation--a spiky set of steps, if you would. At least if she stayed off the ground, he wouldn't have to worry about accidentally crushing her while most definitely crushing this imposter.

"Oh! Good idea!" Canon replied, picking herself off the ground. If she couldn't get onto Wrex's double, she could get on the real one!
She ran over and hopped up Wrex's tail to his back as quickly as she could. Canon had managed to blow right through the health the human's first aid kit had given her, but she wasn't about to give in and let Wrex have all the fun!
Instead of stopping at his back, she run up onto his head, and poked the Shadow Wrex in the eye with her stinger when his head got close enough!
Pleased she managed to get on (doubly pleased she had a stinger she knew how to use, you go stab that thing in the eyes YEAH!), Wrex turned his attention to butting heads with his double--quite literally. He hoped the little one could handle doing a balancing act on top of getting her attacks in.
It was actually kind of fun, fighting himself. He couldn't wait to tell stories about it later.

Canon gamely kept her balance when Wrex smashed his head into his duplicates' head. From her perch, she could feel the titanic muscles moving beneath his hide and marveled at the strength he possessed.
Since her poke in the eyes had worked so well the last time, Canon repeated the maneuver, aiming for their opponent's other eye. Blind him! Her stinger made contact, but the shadow Wrex fetched her a nasty chomp in return.
Canon rolled back down the real Wrex's back, and struggled to her feet again. She didn't think she could risk another attack, she was dangerously close to dissipating. But she did what she could, watching the Shadow Wrex's moves and trying to warn Wrex about any incoming attacks.
It actually did seem that she managed to blind it. Wrex took advantage and smacked it around, gleefully cackling between attacks. He didn't seem to mind that Canon stopped the eye stabbing--rather, he was more than happy to be showing off, especially with her giving forewarning.

...And that was where he found his last surge of energy. Going near beserk out of fury and panic, Wrex proceeding to bang, scrape, and tear apart the shadow until there was barely anything left to dissipate.
Only then did his trembling legs give out under him, and the boil plopped on the ground, wheezing and grinning. "Deeeeeeed iiiiiiiit," he crooned to his battle partner.

Canon somehow managed to stay on Wrex's back for that last frenzy of an attack. When he was done, and Shadow Wrex was nothing more than a memory, Canon flopped down on Wrex's back.
"That was an amazing battle!" she enthused, tiredly patting his hide with an antennae. "Maybe we should stay here and take a na- wait, what's that?"
Something glinted on the ground. Canon slid down Wrex's side to investigate.
"It's a juice can!" she exclaimed, picking up the container, and turning to show it to Wrex. "My human will love this! Though I'm tempted to try some, too. I've never had human food before!"
She turned it over and over as she debated opening it or not.
