((Anyone is welcome to join! This is open to the hatchlings, adults, or weyrfolk.)
It had been about four days since the morning of the hatching and the hatching feast that night. Banashe had found a rhythm with Severith. The young dragon was mostly interested in sleep, food, and oiling. Not always in that order. She spent way too much time sitting and watching the dragon sleep. Being away from the brown was hard. Yet chores and lessons still went on.
So when Severith woke and called for her she politely excused herself to go tend him. Dragon tending stations had been set up at the edge of the lake. The teen met her dragon at her weyrling barrack and led the brown toward the lake.
Padding confidently next to his rider, he gave her a list of his complaints. My back itches, and my belly is very empty mine. When do I get fed? He wanted to stuff his gullet and go back to sleep. Somewhere along the way maybe he should be oiled too to stop that annoying itch.
"I'm sure you do. You ate an extra bowl of meat." She glanced at the brown head bobbing next to her. As she'd left him to sleep off the huge meal, Banashe had known he'd need a good oiling this time. Of course he got the royal treatment each time. The pair made their way toward the stations. One had bathing and oiling supplies, another tables with meat to be butchered.
"Bath first," she said firmly. He grumbled a tiny bit but went to submerge himself in the shallow water before moving to meet her in the ankle deep ripples. Banashe set to scrubbing his hide. He wasn't that big yet, but she'd remembered her lessons on dragon hide. "Lift wings." With his wings out of the way she could gain access to his sides and wing undersides.

D'rec 20 Turns && Weyrling Dragon -- Blue Lucath D'rec had been surprised when he'd been driven from his bunk four days ago. No one ever knew exactly when the hatching would happen, but when it had he'd immediately dove into his candidate robes, immediately shoved his feet into his thick shoes. It had been an intriguing morning to say the last. He walked with his head held low, uncertainty washing rapidly from him in waves. This was his last chance after all. The last ditch effort to grasp his dreams. As the candidate master rushed the candidates along, he felt the uncontrollable feeling of fear. Would he impress? It'd been decided long before.
Fate. It would prove that something inside him lured the blue like a wave. The hardworking notions of the pair seemed evenly matched. When that Athletic Egg opened up and the blue appeared, wobbling on his hind legs; D'rec had to catch his breath. He felt the longing inside him begin once more as his entire being seemed to scream for the dragonet to choose him. The same happened as the oddball dragonet crossed paths with the paler blue, then the brown. But, those words filled his mind in a blur.
I choose you, Dazarec! Your Lucath has your back! No sweeter words had ever been said to the twenty turn old, and the minute Lucath came to him he fell to his knees and had covered his face with his hands to cry. Yes, as a grown man he had cried. Mine, do not be troubled, I am here now. You'll never be alone. The beautiful bold blue had spoken and thus it was so as he led his Bonded from the sands and towards Hatteth and the food.
D'rec had been in a trance the entire time, his emotions uncontrollable. Now, it was four days later; weyrling chores had taken precedence in both the dragonet and the Weyrling's minds. Their hardworking minds working readily to get what needed to be done, done. Lucath and D'rec worked easily together, and D'rec had begun to shyly see the light in Lucath's mind. Mine, I need to feed. The dragonet called to his Bonded readily, the feeding stations and the oiling stations were settled near the lake. Shall we go to the stations? The youngster questioned.
D'rec frowned carefully and then blinked as the voice whispered in his mind. He'd been in the middle of delivering a package to some rider on his high horse; despite the package being delivered on time, in proper condition the rider had to scrutinize everything and had to nitpick every little detail. "Please. My dragon..." D'rec stammered uncertainly, fiddling his hands together as a nervous look appeared across his face. He could feel Lucath in his mind, wanting his food, wanting to be oiled. Wanting to frighten the rider away from His. Lucath growled deep in D'rec's mind but there was nothing the young man could do.
Finally, the rider finished his ranting and D'rec ran from him. Literally. He raced towards the barrack where his was waiting for him. 'I'm sorry, Lucath.' He apologized readily and rubbed the dragonet's eye ridge tenderly, admiring the blue.
Lucath squeaked calmly and shook his head carefully as he flicked his spaded tail. It is that dimglow who should be apologizing! You've done nothing wrong, keep your chin up, mine! The young dragonet snorted and shook his head. Together the pair walked towards the lake.
When Lucath neared the lake, rising on his hind legs and cocking his head delicately to the side he seemed to smile knowingly and chuckled in his dragon way. Mine, we're not alone. The bold blue shivered and then called encouragingly, Severith, hello to you and Yours! The dragonet would feel no hard feelings for his clutch-mate. After all, the brown and the other blue seemed to have quite the affinity for one another. Perhaps it was a little reckless. Ah well, the empathetic blue would not fight over something pointless.

Octavia Dragon: Blue Zangoth
She couldn't remember the last time she had slept more than a couple of hours, probably 4 days ago. Though she was loving every minute of it. She had very much taken to her duties with Zangoth and of course keeping him and Severith from bickering all the time. Those two were hard pressed to push each other, though it was no different than her and her sister. It seemed they had been a match all in all. 'Mine, let us get me some food and a nice oiling. Besides, I think your sister is already there. We mustn't allow them to show us up! Especially that blockhead Severith!' The familiar voice of her dragon ran through her mind and she chuckled as she got up. 'Oh no, we mustn't have that shall we.' She was teasing him and she could feel his displeasure with that. But he knew she did it in fun.
'I'll meet you outside.' She said as she got dressed and made her way to meet the pale colored dragon that had chosen her. Together they walked towards the stations and every so often he'd itch his wings against his sides. 'Mine, I itch.' 'I know you do. We shall be to the stations soon.' She said reassuringly to him.
As they approached she spotted her sister and waved."Good Morning Banashe! You and Severith are looking well this morning. You and Lucath too D'rec!" She said with a smile as her and her dragon approached, he shifted his wings and gave Severith a short stare before moving over towards a station nearby. Morning Lucath!.... Severith. When he said the browns name it was a little less enthusiastic.
OOC: some key notes. Italicized are to Octavia, regular are to the other dragons and bold is to everyone who can hear or a specific person if he is talking to someone.

She was well and truly soaked by the time another dragon and rider showed up. Banashe, despite being soaked, was sweating from her exertions. The teen straightened up in time to see the bold blue plodding over. She brushed some wet hair back from her face. There was still the other side left to do, but she had to greet Dazarec. No he'd changed his name with his Impression. Banashe wracked her brain a moment. D'rec that was it. She was glad she didn't have to change her name.
"D'rec. Good afternoon." She nodded slightly to the pair. The guy was quite a bit older than herself. Banashe regarded him thoughtfully. How far did the pair want to go? Severith arched his neck and lifted his head as he was greeted by Lucath. Despite being half soapy, he still held himself regally. Lucath. To you and yours. It was only polite after all. Mine insisted I bathe first. He gave by way of explanation. Then another blue showed up and got his undivided attention. Zangoth! He gave a hiss toward his rival drawing his rider's attention to her sister, although the other woman hailed his quickly. She gave a grin as she waved toward her twin. "He looks itchy to me. Nothing a good bath and oiling won't fix. Is Zangoth's belly as empty as Severith says his is?" Banashe moved around to her dragon's other side. She gave a nudge when he gave a hiss of water on hot stones to distract him. "Lift that wing would you? You're almost done here and can get fed soon." She knew she had to distract him or the pair would be at it constantly.

D'rec 20 Turns && Weyrling Dragon -- Blue Lucath D'rec smiled and waved good humoredly towards Banashe and Octavia. "Hello." He slurred and then blushed heatedly in embarrassment, this was why he didn't speak. He hated the way he spoke, all fast and hurried as though he could scarcely catch his breath. Shaking his head he turned to look towards Lucath. The bloody beast was once more on his hind legs, a pose he took quite often despite how bizarre it appeared. 'Go take a dip while I cut some strips for you.' The weyrling smiled pleasantly and his blue dragonet chirped in response before wading into the water.
Mine suggested the same. The blue nodded affirmatively as he waded into the water, dipping briefly below the surface before rolling back to the top until only his nose peeked from the surface. His eyes shimmered beneath the clear waters as Octavia and her wily blue Zangoth approached. Zangoth. To you and yours as well! How fares things? The blue replied readily. Far from him to hold a grudge.
Once the man had finished stripping some pieces of herdbeast, he walked towards the waters edge with a bag filled with sweetsand. He grinned as he poured some out and Lucath swam over to him. Diligently he began to scrub the dragon with the sweet soap, watching as his hide slowly began to flake off in certain places. 'Long overdue for a good scrub.' D'rec remarked to his companion who merely gave him a seething look. You gave me one yesterday. The dragonet responded readily, shaking off the clumps of soapy foam that seeped into his fresh skin.
Lucath eyed the girls as he rose to his full height and lifted his wings for his rider to get under neath. Once that was finished he raced on stable hind legs into the water and began to splash himself with his "hands". The dragonet turned a knowing eye onto his rider as he spoke once more, Mine, I'm hungry. Feed me then I'll take that oil.
