Sherry bent down to pick up the little lady she'd found. It was harder than she'd anticipated- the woman should have been easy to lift. Sherry had been feeling a little drained, but still. The woman was short and everything.

"Something about this place must be off," she said to herself. Making her weaker. Making so lifting this person was actually straining. Like before; Sherry would not have dreamed of just lifting another person off of the ground before.

It didn't matter. She was still going to rescue this lady.

Luckily, the portal wasn't far. Sure, Sherry had to pause once or twice to readjust getting the woman to the portal, but overall, it wasn't too hard. The woman was still small, and Sherry didn't have far to take her.

"Okay," she told the lady, "here you go, safe and sound." Without ceremony she shoved her through the portal. Sherry went in in right after and was not at all pleased to find herself in a place that was not safe.

Another desolate and destroyed place...and the vines. Oh, heavens. The vines all over that tower. Sherry shook her head as she looked away, back at the highway she found herself on. Just what had happened? What had gone wrong? Where had the portal put her?

It was most certainly the shaking that caused her to turn. "What the hell is that?" A horse? Horsemen? No, this was entirely different. It was something Sherry had never seen before.

Pain and words. Sherry was barely conscious of the world around her when she heard the words. It hurt. So did the images and feelings that came after. She staggered, clutching at her head, trying not to lose herself to it. Overwhelming, though. That's what it was.

Armagnac's voice cut through the pain. It was soothing, even as Sherry felt the weapon pushing against whatever it was causing this.

She knew what had caused it. That thing. The images, the pain, all of it. She needed to get away from it.

Still in pain, Sherry lifted the lady she'd shoved through the portal to this hell. Vines reached for them; using Armagnac to slice them away was second nature. She then ran. Because there was no way in hell she stood a chance against that thing, and she knew it.

Sherry was doing her very best to run. It was hard, but she was trying. She could hear Armagnac, but things were... She felt weak. They both did. Which mean the woman she was trying to save felt heavy. But still. Sherry ran. Eve as the fogged rolled in, even as the vines began to spread. She ran.

Her headset crackled, and gave her the information she had been waiting for. An exit. Not far, either. Well. Far, but she knew how to find it.

"We can do this. We can do this."

She'd run for her life before. Not while carrying another person, but still she knew she could do it. She was a hunter, and she was trained for this sort of thing. So she kept running.

The thing chasing her gained ground, too fast, too fast. It nearly caught her, Sherry stumbled, scraped a knee and almost dropped her charge. But she didn't quite. They weren't dead yet. So she ran on.

Somehow they escaped the the thing for a bit longer. But it still chased after them, even as Sherry slowed. The weight of the second person was beginning to wear on her, beginning to drag her down.

But Sherry wasn't the type to just give up. They were both getting out of here.

At least she hoped so.

The horse thing caught up again, bearing down on them, causing Sherry to scream and tumble and panic a little.

She was nearly there. She was so close. She couldn't give up now, she couldn't give in. She could do this.

She was nearly there. So close, so very, very close. The creature was bearing down and Sherry was worried it would catch them again...but then the portal was there, in front of her.

She'd made it. They were going to be safe.

It was just as Sherry was about to reach the portal that the woman she was carrying woke up. She woke up and freaked.

"Who are you? Where am I?"

Sherry felt like she was trying to hold a cat as the woman tried to climb out of her arms and away. "I'm here to save you. Come on. We need to go."

"No," the woman said. "No. Who are you?" She had a hold of Sherry, and was far stronger than Sherry would have guessed. "I am not going anywhere!"

"Please. We need to--"

The woman was actually fighting to get away. She grabbed at Sherry, shoved her away and tried to run. She made it two steps. Sherry took hold over her, and the woman turned to push her away again. "No. You can't take me. You can't!" She seemed terrified. "I'm not going back there. You can't take me."

She wanted nothing to do with Sherry. Sherry could see that clearly. But Sherry wasn't going to let her stay in this place. That was certain death.

Sherry grabbed her, she grabbed her and shook her and started to drag her towards... a portal that was no longer there.

"s**t."
