Given Mimi's petite figure, it was somewhat of a task trying to drag her designated civilian to safety, who was at least 6 inches taller and maybe 1.5 times as heavy. Still, that didn't mean she would give up. She knew she shouldn't, but she had to use every advantage she could get. If the civilian she was carrying had something which could aid in the rescue, then it would certainly come in handy.
Having dragged Dani only a few meters at best, she put her down and knelt down beside Dani's bag. "Gomen, ami, but if there's something in your bag that can help me help you, then I need to know." If anything, the search had told her WHY it was so hard carrying her designated civilian. There was a thick sweater, two pairs of goggles, a first aid kit, and umbrella, a... knife?? Mimi was a little concerned as to why they carried a bloody knife in their bag, but... oh! She pulled out something that looked like a radio and tried to turn it on. Nothing but static. Perhaps it was broken by something? Oh well. There wasn't anything she could do about it right now. Slinging the bag over a shoulder, Mimi resumed in trying to drag the civilian to the portal.

Through much sweat, effort, and maybe some tears, Mimi finally made it to the portal. "Hooray! You'll be safe now, friend!" With one final heave, she managed to pull herself and Dani into the portal. However, instead of finding herself back at the base, Mimi was... on a highway? Where... was this? She noticed a skyscraper close by covered with vines, and as she followed its gaze to the top, she suddenly got dizzy. N-no, she couldn't admire the scenery now. She had to-
Suddenly, there was a tremor, and Mimi turned around. This... this was... She froze, eyes wide at the shadowy-looking horse covered in vines. She was still frozen with fear until the horse creature started to unravel, at which she started to run as FAST as she could. Or, at least, as fast as she could when terrified out of her mind and carrying someone heavier and taller than her.
However, the more she ran, the more she tried to get away, the harder it was. The creature was trying to hold her back both physically and mentally, and Mimi cringed as the voices grew in her head. Not even Dae's voice could help block out the images that started to appear in her mind, images of people hurt. Suffering. Angry. Fearful. Despairing. "M-make it stop..." she whimpered, hands clutching her head as she knelt down. Everything hurt. Her head was throbbing, and- Go away, go away, stop! <---mi...> P-please, no more... Hearing Dae's voice made Mimi gasp. R-right! She had to rescue the civilian! Her head still hurt, but she knew what she had to do. She had to run.

Wait! If she recalled, the civilian's bag had some sort of key in it. Maybe it was a car key? <...can you even drive?> "Well, papa had been meaning to give me-" Another tremor made her jump. WELL, no time to debate. Now was a good time to learn, and look, a car! Driven purely by adrenaline at this point, Mimi yanked over the door, did her best to heave Dani inside, and rushed to the front. Just... stick the key in ignition and... press the pedal, right? She could do it!

Mimi jammed her foot against the pedal as hard as she could. Go go go gogogogogogo A downside of being short in a car with no knowledge on how to drive was that Mimi couldn't actually SEE where they were going, so when something bumped against the car, sending nearly her and her civilian crashing through the front window, she screamed. Please please PLEASE make it out of this alive!
With the portal in sight, Mimi breathed a sigh of relief. The car was in shambles, but at least she and the civilian were still mostly in one piece! She winced slightly as she pulled herself out of the driver's seat, gasping. That was... quite an adventure. The civilian was on the floor of the car now, thanks to Mimi not thinking of buckling them in, but with some effort, she managed to pull them up, half dragging/carrying them with an arm slung over her shoulder.
Just a few more steps and... Mimi felt movement, and turned to see the civilian slowly waking up. "Oh! You're awake! I-" She suddenly found herself pinned to the floor as the civilian glared at them. "WHO are you and where do you think you're taking me?" "Wait! I-" "Don't think that just because you're smaller I'll go easy on you. I have NO intention of going wherever it is you're taking me, got it?" "No, please! I just... I just want to help!"
Try as she might, Mimi couldn't shake her off. If she had known what Dani had gone through, she might understand, but for now, Mimi was terrified. Dani was terrified. They both had no idea what was going on. "O-onegai! We h-have to-" It was too late. While they were trying to sort out their misunderstandings, the portal suddenly vanished. They were stranded.
