Kito is a super timid Imp, even for a race that isn't much for fighting, he rarely lashes out. Kito quickly became a target for bullying, choosing to run and hide instead of standing his ground. By junior year the imp developed a habit of hiding his face in his neck fur constantly, to the point that everything that he says is muffled.
Mid-way through junior year Kito runs into Argintie. Literally runs into the huge chimera while trying to get away from bullies and nearly dies from fright, babbling out apologies faster than is probably intelligible. Against all preconceptions the little imp had, the chimera stepped in and...dissuaded the bullies from going after Kito again.
After that day the two of them became fast friends (with maybe just a hint of hero-worship on Kito's part). Now Gin is the only one allowed to bully the imp. Kito doesn't mind, honestly, and the imp seems much more self confident when Gin's around. He's even come out of his shell and doesn't mumble through his fur as much anymore. Argintie became his backbone and confidence. Needless to say the two became very close and are currently in a committed relationship. The biggest, and only real issue, they have comes down to Gin's possessive jealousy and Kito's imp nature to hug his friends for 'too long'.
Feelings
Arkham Kito loves his classes, and he loves Arkham's focus on the arts. As Kito's talent seems to lie in making cutesy figurines, he finds his art classes to be the most comfortable classes to be. As a younger student, he'd sometimes even skip lunch to stay in his woodworking class and just whittle away at whatever project he was working on.
Races Kito is a cache orphan and, as such, has been around all the races all of his life. He is also fairly typical of his imp culture and doesn't really hold any prejudices. Kito sees everyone as individuals, rather than different races, and kind of thinks of the school and all the students in it as their own unit or 'race'.
Traits
Positive:
Caring - Kito is a sweet, sweet boy. He's always soft spoken and kind to everyone, trying his best to provide anything they need. Especially children; Kito wants to apply to be a big brother so that he can help young freshlings in ways he hadn't been.
Loyal - If he becomes your friend, he's a friend for life. The little imp will come running as soon as he's needed to give whatever help he can. No matter what someone says about his friend, he wont abandon them. Not that he's blind to a person's faults, he just takes the bad with the good.
Adaptable - He rolls with the punches and Gin's s**t. In order to survive the worst of the bullying, Kito learned how to be flexible. He can run and hide, stand his ground, or go find a higher authority to help him. He's also very unlikely to crack under pressure.
Negative
Timid/Fearful - Kito is not a brave soul. One nasty glare will have him shaking in his boots. Years of bullying have taken its toll and the imp is far more likely to bolt to a hidey-hole or to Argintie's side than to stand and fight. Even when not being threatened, all it takes is a wave of embarrassment to send him hiding behind his tail or in the fluff at his neck
Doormat - Kito is a dedicated friend and partner, and (until junior year) infallibly there for anyone who needs him with advice, support, money, homework to be copied, and never expected anything in return. He desperately wished one day that someone would count him as a friend and mean it, but he was mostly happy to be a friend to everyone else no matter what the personal cost. He actually LIKED to be treated this way, because at least it means he is needed in some small way.
After meeting Gin, Kito does grow more of a backbone; he still goes out of his way to give what he can for people, but he reserves most of his doormat tendencies for Argintie.
Co-dependent - Kito is an insecure mess of fluff and although he's gotten better by senior year, he's still a swirl of insecurities. Kito leans on Argintie...probably more than is healthy. With Gin close, Kito doesn't feel the need to get help for any of his issues.
Hobbies
Sudoku - Kito loves doing logic puzzles, specifically the number ones. When homework is finished, the imp loves to find a cozy space and just play quietly by himself, completely zoned out to everything else.
Whittling - Kito loves to carve little figurines using his claws. He'll make little people, animals, fantasy creatures, words, you name it. Mostly he makes critters and gives them away to anyone who takes a shine to one. Gin keeps saying they should sell them, but Kito just smiles and gives another one away.
Likes
Children - Kito is very patient and kind and he loves that most kids love his little figurines. He wants to go into the big brother program and mentor a freshling. He also wants to be someone the kids can talk to about bullying problems; he'll listen and try to do something about it.
Snuggling - He doesn't really get to cuddle up with people too often, but when he does, he's warm and relaxed. Cuddling is his favorite thing to do, especially after a long day.
Dislikes
Speaking in Public - Being called up to the front of the class is met with pure dread. He hates being the center of attention, he hates having to speak up and enunciate when all he wants is to hide behind his fur.
Exuberant People - People who are a little too 'in your face' or pushy about something makes Kito uncomfortable. He knows he'll give in easily to just about anything if he's pressed hard enough, and exuberant people tend to push really, really hard. If he can, he'll try to sneak away from people like this.

Clothing
I really don't know. Something oversized and adorable for the top and some loose jeans/pants. An ear piercing or two and maybe a couple bracelets or belts even. I'd like him to have a black collar that barely shows through the neck fluff.
A smart-mouthed peer just told your Nightmare that they're a failure to their race. How do they react?
A failure to his race? Kito's ears drooped, and his tail wrapped around his legs tightly in a defensive gesture. It was probably true, he wasn't very good at anything (or so he'd been told most of his life) why should living up to his race's standards be any different. He didn't have a large family, he didn't snuggle up to everyone like a love-struck puppy, and he wasn't very good an diplomacy or even standing up for himself. Sounded like a failure to the imp race to him as well.
With no argument forthcoming, Kito turned and ran away, jeering laughter following him. He knew he should have said something in his defense...but what was there to say? Even Kito thought he wasn't good enough for his race. And here he was, running away again. He wanted to find a nice, safe, hidey-hole and disappear until he felt better. Another thought popped up, someone safe that would make him feel even better than just hiding and wallowing in self pity. He really should stop putting all of his cry-baby nonsense on Argintie, he really should. Just...not today. Today he needed Gin again.
The imp burst into Argintie's room, and hesitated in the doorway. The chimera was working and only gave Kito the most perfunctory of glances before going back to the paper and finishing up whatever he'd been working on. Kito waited until the chimera put his pen down and held out an arm before the imp crawled into his lap.
"What happened?"
"Someone said I was a failure to my race." Kito said softly, curling his tail up and over his belly and refusing to look at Gin. "He's right, everything I learned about them...I don't do; I don't have a huge family, I don't cuddle with all my friends, I'm not a good mediator. I'm a terrible Imp." His voice didn't raise or wobble as tears started splashing down onto his tail.
"Idiot." Gin's voice was harsh and caused Kito to look up at him in surprise. The chimera looked even angrier than usual and Kito wiggled a bit to escape, but Gin held him harder. "Stop and listen. You don't have a large family yet. What do you expect from an orphan? You've got me and my boys, and I'm sure we'll end up having a kid or two in the future. There's your family." Gin reached down and wiped tears away, still looking pretty pissed. "You cuddle with me all the time, and I don't want you cuddling with anyone else, so you're good on that front too. As for a mediator, you know when I can or can't trust someone enough to give them an extension on a loan, and you haven't been wrong yet."
Kito watched the chimera look around before grabbing one of Kito's figurines and handing it to him. "Imps are supposed to be industrious and you churn these out at, frankly, an alarming rate. Also, you're supposed to be really good at finances and treasure finding. Ever since I put you in charge of the books, you've managed to increase my profits. You sound pretty damn impy to me. Now, I know you're not about to give me a name because of your stupid, pacifistic impy nature," Kito watched Gin roll his eyes and smiled at the gesture, "so stop being an idiot and let me get back to work."
Kito dried his eyes on his tail, and stayed curled in Gin's lap while the chimera started writing agian. The Imp felt so much better about life. Even though he just got insulted more often than when the other student called him a failure, he felt happy and warm. All was right again in his little world, he wasn't a failure at being an imp. Maybe at some other things, but not at being what he was born as. "Thank you, Gin."
Kito's appearance looks great! I didn't even know you had him in TLN. XD;;
Also oh no he likes children. I can see where this is going! Your traits look good though!
And your prompt has made me ship them, this is fantastic.
Like I said with Argintie, you're missing just a few things! The section on how he feels about his race, his house, and other races is all you need to add! Give me a quote when they're ready again. heart
