History: Octavia and her fraternal twin Banashe were born into a loving family in in the wherhold of Malvren. Their parents had left their homes to join Keller's cause, believing it to be more noble than it truly was. In their fourth Turn, their parents were killed in the wherwars. It was decided by their extended family in various other places, that the girls would go live with an uncle who was an oyster farmer in Eron Hold. With the move the pair thankfully avoided the worst of the wherwars and the bloodshed that came with them and grew up relatively unaffected. Minus the loss of their parents that is.

Being so close to the sea made Octavia connect with it and become unafraid of the dangers that it held. As soon as they were able she started diving for Oysters in the shallows and eventually would sneak out on her own to dive in the deeper, darker parts of the sea. To which she became very familiar with the dolphins that inhabited the waters.

Octavia and her sister will be searched ICLY by Naressa of Blue Reciproth and Vosin of Gold Killakeeth. Reciproth will be drawn to Octavia while Killakeeth to her sister. They will most likely be out on the boat when this happens.

Description:

Currently, as a pubescent teen, she is tall and gangly with mild curves that are hardly noticeable under baggy cloths. Her hair is a rich dark brown with auburn lights (mainly from being in the sunlight). She has sharp grey colored eyes and a rich olive colored tan from spending many days out on the ocean.

She likes to keep her hair braided behind her, or loose flowing in the wind. It makes her almost appear untamed when she lets it do that though. She can dress up if need be, but she very much likes to run around without shoes on and outfits that are too big for her. She doesn't like the way tight cloths make her feel constricted.

She will be 5'6 as an adult and will curve out only slightly and retain a rather athletic and lithe build. She has a swimmers body, so well developed arms, shoulders, back and legs with a narrow waist. Her skin may lighten slightly as she gets older, but she's going to retain most of her olive coloration as she will be outside quite frequently.

Personality:

Octavia, much like her sister, is a very well organized young girl. She is constantly planning and coming up with ideas of how to better improve on herself and what she and her sister do for a living. She is a very well rounded in the ways of the sea, such as running a ship; when the tide is going to come and go; best weather for fishing or diving and how to track sea life movements. She is also very informed on what hold folk do on land, such as weaving netting; running a small business and bartering. She's very much aware of what is important to keep their businesses running and what must be sacrificed sometimes. These attributes will eventually lead for her to be a great dragon rider, and possibly weyrwoman one day if she impresses. Above all else though, Octavia has a big heart, she doesn't often show it but it's there and she is always on the look out to make things better for everyone, not just herself. She'd give the cloths of her back to help someone if she could, though since she's pretty logical, she wouldn't necessarily do just that, but instead come up with another way to provide for those in need

She is a very resilient young girl, she'd have to be growing up with her parents being killed like they had during the wards and then being tossed in to live with her uncle. She is very resourceful when it comes to just about anything and doesn't back down from very much. She will often think of the fly if in a tight spot and use whatever is at hand to make a situation work in her favor. She is a straight shooter and when she has her sights set on a specific ideal, then she sticks with it. She doesn't rarely back down from a cause that is important to her. She believes fair is fair and duties are duties, it doesn't matter who you are to her. You all have a role in this life and she tends to make sure everyone is pulling their weight.

Just as you have strengths, you have weaknesses. Octavia is rather ignorant to the dangers of the world around her. It's not because she isn't aware of them, it's just because of how her sister and her grew up and what they do now that makes her rather blind to the actual hazards she faces daily. Diving and sailing are both very dangerous professions, one never knows what's lurking in the depths of the water or when the weather might change, yet day after day they are out there doing what they do best. Due to her ignorance she has a very light and careless concern for her mortality. She's not really reckless, just doesn't really understand the significance of the dangers that are poised in the world around her and her work. This makes her a little gutsy and sometimes a little impractical to be around. Despite all of that she does have a side of caution to her and she tends to make sure that neither herself or her sister jump into a situation unprepared. This could cause for delays to happen in plans, but she'd rather be prepared than unprepared.

When it comes to her sister she will almost always let her have what she wants, but she won't let her push her around. Those are two very different view points. She will help her sister lead, but she won't be lead around and she definitely won't let someone disrespect either of them. She can be rather competitive at times with her sister, but she won't ever do anything to cause her harm. She wouldn't think twice about getting into a fight with her over a cause that was important to her, but beyond that she would never physically cause harm to her sister.

Other:
Is a very strong swimmer and has made a bond with a few of the water mammals that inhabit the shores. At one pointed wanted to be a dolphineer but chose to dive for oysters and sail instead.

Description: Zangoth is a pretty average blue in both size and bulk but his muscles are very well defined and sleek, somewhat calling to mind a feline. Most of his hide is strikingly pale and may well be the envy of many, not that he especially cares about such things... well okay maybe he's a bit flattered but that's not important okay! It's what's inside that counts.

Personality: Zangoth is a real hot head, he's passionate and driven with heart and ambition enough for three. He wants the best for everyone and wants to be the best he can be, he knows he has what it takes to rise through the ranks and will give his all to get into a position where he can make the most difference to the lives of others.

Looking at Zangoth you could never doubt his confidence in himself: he walks tall, he talks loud, and won't allow larger dragons to overlook him; didn't anyone tell you it's a brave new world where merit's valued over hide colour? Well if not he's here to update you! Zangoth knows he's a smart enough dragon, and more than that that he's got a great eye for strategy and gut instinct that mean he can make good split-second calls that have the potential to save lives in the heat of battle. He is not however an arrogant dragon, he's kind of boisterous which can be too much for some people but he makes sure that everyone around him knows that they have innate value. He's more than just platitudes though, Zangoth is an insightful fellow who's good at spotting the strengths and weaknesses of others. He might not have the smoothest tongue ever but he'll always do his best to guide those around him towards their strengths if they can't see them themselves and will do all he can to help them mitigate their weaknesses.

Trying to stop Zangoth from doing something he wants to do is slightly more difficult than trying to stop a wildfire spreading uphill in a forest with a strong wind blowing behind it and all of that after a drought. Or to put it another way, it's really quite hard. Zangoth is that guy who says never say die, who has the heart to keep pressing forward no matter the odds and no matter how many times he's been beaten back. If you want something, if you really want something, sometimes you have to be prepared to fight for it and fight hard! While he'll be passionate about a whole range of things throughout his life the one that will stick with him is a desire to rise to a position of power. Power in itself he could kind of take or leave but he really believes that he'd do a good job as for say a wingleader, he could help people to develop themselves and protect them, lead them into battle and then lead them all home again!

Something Zangoth struggles with is the idea that you can't always save everyone, that sometimes there are no good choices and no matter how you try people are going to get hurt. He really truly just wants to keep everyone safe and see them all happy, contemplating making a call where he has to sacrifice a life is... well he just can't contemplate it and won't be involved in making plans that involve it; he's bringing all his people home thanks so much! This along with the fact that patience is not a virtue he possesses makes him a trial to have at any sort of long involved strategic meeting and also means that him being there is a waste of time really, he's just not good at it and is more than happy to let his rider - or others - do that sort of thing for him. As previously mentioned however this blue has excellent instincts and reacts quickly in a crisis, so even if he can't bring everyone home every time when things get hot he will probably be able to make good calls that will bring home as many people as possible.

Then there's Severith. Severith, that sharded tunnelsnake! Zangoth thinks he's a cold-blooded, arrogant, slow-moving, tail-fork. Nothing and noone gets under his hide like Severith can, if the two of them are together for more than five minutes or so expect an argument... and for the love of stars don't intervene. Really, just don't, because if you do they will both turn on you. Nobody messes with that noodly crackshell while he's around, least not twice they don't! He'd never admit it of course but under the rivalry and despite their great differences he respects the strengths that Severith has that he lacks; he would certainly never admit that he loves his chilly sibling but he does. They may be polar opposites but in the end Zangoth would do anything to protect Severith, even if it meant sacrificing a life other than his own.

Why me?: Octavia and Zangoth are both benevolent yet ambitious sorts with a flare for thinking quickly in a tight corner. They want power, sure, but because they think that they can help others better by gaining it rather than for its own sake. While he might curse and growl about being tied closely to Severith through his rider's twin Zangoth is actually secretly pleased about it; they might be at each other's throats the whole time but he knows they make a strong team when they actually work together. Not having to make excuses for why he works closely with the brown is definitely something he appreciates.





Inspiration:
Zangoose - #335 - Cat Ferret Pokémon: Zangoose usually stays on all fours, but when angered, it gets up on its hind legs and extends its claws. This Pokémon shares a bitter rivalry with Seviper that dates back over generations.

Zangoose and its rival Seviper share several characteristics, such as being in the Field Egg Group, residing in the same Friend Area, and being the only two Pokémon with a base stat total of 458. In Horde Encounters, Zangoose can be encountered together with Seviper. However, they will focus on and attack each other before targeting the player's Pokémon, referencing their bitter rivalry towards one another.

Zangoose is based on the mongoose, a cat-like carnivore that is well known for its ability to hunt and kill venomous snakes. It also bears physical resemblance to the Angora and Persian cat breeds. The rivalry it shares with Seviper is based on the relationship between both cats and mongooses towards snakes.
