RESCUER: That's who you are currently rping! This is the person rescuing your disposable! So yes, technically you are rping a character rescuing your disposable, yes.
Take a look at the 1d10 you rolled in your first post. That is the amount of yards you have traveled away from the portal. Go ahead and start dragging them back through the fog. This is entirely rped so you can drag them back however you want. For Halloween students, your strength has been nerfed slightly, and are now proportional to a Human's strength. For a Hunter, the fog is sapping your strength, making you more lethargic. Your movement and strength is slowed down to a regular civilian's.
For this part, also keep in mind the height and weight of your victim when you take it into RP accord. As your characters are in a very densely populated part of the hospital, hitching a ride via any form of vehicle is not an option right now.
When Ever stepped out of the portal, the world was a haze around him, the landscape washed out in a grey that was all too familiar from time spent in Chicago and left him near certain that he was somewhere in the northern United States. Somewhere dull but familiar. Somewhere bland.
Except for the strangeness of it. Instead of folks walking around in sweatpants and oversized sweatshirts, instead of suburban families going about their business, trips to MacDonald's or checking out local produce, this place looked like it had been abandoned for ten, twenty years. Cars falling to pieces. Buildings crumbled. Vines everywhere
It had been taken over by supernatural forces.
So Ever frowned, eyes raking over his surroundings, taking in the shadowlings and the infected, and started a slow crawl through the heavy fog -- his strength sapping out of him slowly -- until he halfway tripped over a body in the mist. He stumbled, caught himself, and dropped to a crouch.
Human. Young. Filthy. He tipped his head to one side, considering the face under the broken glasses. Not too tall, not too heavy. It should be absolutely no problem to hoist the young man over one shoulder and take him back to the portal. He took one arm, stooping to haul it over his own back, moved to stand...and it was harder than he remembered. Ever blinked, blurry, and tried again.
Much harder than he remembered. But he struggled, half-carrying and half dragging, and if it had felt like hours before he found the body, it felt like days to get it back. When they finally reached the portal again, he all but fell through.

Austin's slim and a bit taller than average at 5'10' with sandy hair shorn short on the sides, longer and curly on the top. His eyes, behind a pair of thin wire thick plastic frames with the wrong prescription, are faded green and usually amused; his skin is fair, freckling in sun unless he's careful; his mouth is just a little too full, in a way that appeals to most people.

Ever's a beanstalk: six feet tall and extremely underweight, he looks like he'd break under a stiff wind. This is partially covered by the multi-layered style he's adopted, mostly worn-thin clothing rescued from thrift stores or the salvation army, heavy pants tucked into clunky boots. His hair is soft, fine, and extremely fair; his eyes are narrow, laughing, and very dark. His nose is a couple sizes too big with a bend in the bridge where it was broken, at some point, and never properly set. These days, he has a somewhat unnatural pallor, like he's barely seen sunlight in about six months -- because he hasn't.

Once you have finally rped getting to the portal, after all your rescuer's blood, sweat and tears, you can go ahead and throw them into the portal and follow afterwards.
As you do you and the victim suddenly end up not anywhere safe and definitely not back to where you started. Instead, it seems like you are somewhere on a long stretch of (Human) highway. There is a very tall skyscraper next to you, covered entirely in vines, though the top of the skyscraper seems to have shattered. It hurts your head to look at the buildilng, but as you turn away, you feel something shaking around you.
Behind you is a ridiculously tall creature made of ??? and vines. It doesn't even seem to be made of Fear. It spans nearly fifty feet, and while at a distance it may have looked like some sort of mutated horse, it begins to unravel, hundreds of vines twisting into claws, and then fingers to grasp at you.
Pick the ones applicable to your character, click the spoiler below and then follow the steps given. This one should be your THIRD rp post in that thread
For just a moment, Ever lay on the ground on the other side of the portal, staring at the sky above him and struggling to catch his breath. At least, on this side, things seemed less...exhausting. He closed his eyes, breathing in and then out until he had settled -- and then, slowly, he stood, peering down the highway toward a shattered skyscraper, eyes narrowed and a hand sprawled over his face. He could only stare at it so long before an ache kicked in, and he turned away --
to be faced with a monster. And he lost his breath, again.
"s**t." It came at him, and Ever reached, fumbling, for his weapon.
More tendrils unravel from the cage of the creature and you hear something whisper in your head. It hurts, and nearly causes you to pass out.
It is not natural for you to accept us?
Images begin to flash in your head, and they are overwhelming. They show people, thousands of people each second in fear, anger, despair, hatred, loathing- the images flash even faster, and it hurts for you to even remain standing.
It is only the support of your weapon that causes you to regain semi-consciousness again as you force yourself as far away from the thing as possible. Just nearing it causes your head to pound horribly again. You feel a renewed power as you pick up the victim and begin to sprint out. Vines lash at you and you sever them with your weapon without much though. You run. It chases.
Now, after reading the above for this step, write a post in REACTION to what has happened in the entirety of STEP 2 for your RESCUER. You may now choose to continue to run (go to next step) OR stop a little to fight the boss. If you do, the boss has ???/??? HP. If your character (RESCUER) successfully does more than 10 damage to it (remember GUEST STUDENTS Have 2d6-6 dice and QUEST HUNTERS have 2d8-6 dice) you manage to repel it a little bit ICly and it gives your character a bit of a breather. This post should be the SECOND rp post in your thread!
He'd just pulled Amory from his sheath when the visions kicked in: crippling pain driving Ever to his knees again, thoughts and ideas not his own overwhelming him. He shuddered, clutched at his knee, at his temple --
Get up, dumbass. But Amory wasn't impressed, and Amory wouldn't let him give into it -- not unless Amory was the one ******** with his head. Have you spent so long in the labs that you forget how to fight? Jack, you're ******** worthless, aren't you --
And with that, Ever stood again, stumbling to stand, remembering the unconscious civilian on the ground behind him and raising his weapon to attack, severing vines left and right and working to drag himself toward the monstrous creature. This was his job, and Amory drove him to it.

He connected; the monster didn't react. But it meant that all the focus was on him, instead of on the civilian, and that was the point, at least. He swung again.
He thought, perhaps, the beast was starting to be driven back. One more blow and it rose up on its haunches, fumbling back a few steps to nurse at the injuries -- which meant that, for just a moment, Ever could catch his own breath, lower his own weapon. For just a moment, he thought that he had won, that he had bought their survival.
It was short lived. He got two steps back toward the civ before the creature came at them again, and this time he scooped Austin up more easily to take off in a run.
Behind him, the vines took over, exploding through cars and buildings, swallowing the city into a see of greenery. And it fueled him to run faster.

4. A somewhat new Jeep Wrangler. This thing is awkwardly huge, but at least it does its job. (SPEED VALUE +4)
Austin bounced merrily on his shoulder as Ever ran, frantically, outstripping the vines and somehow managing not to fall on his face. It was coming at them too quickly and, it seemed to him, there was no way that he could get away from this on foot.
Which left only one option.
He was surrounded by cars. Helplessly, he peered through windows, watching the approach of the creature reflected back at him as he searched for something that looked easy to drive, that looked safe, and that had the keys in the ignition.
Four cars in, he found it: a Jeep that looked like it would be sturdy [it wasn't] and that he could easily figure out as soon as he sat down in the driver's seat [he couldn't]. Panicked, he fumbled, floundered, and at least got it on. Ever stepped on both pedals at once.
He moved, and stopped. Moved and stopped. Stopped entirely to catch his breath.
This time, when he put his foot down, it was only on the accelerator, pressing it all the way to the ground: the car took off, and Ever just clung to the steering wheel, struggling desperately to keep from colliding with anything. Mostly, he succeeded, aside from a swipe here and there --
He took off like a shot, leaving the monster in his wake, Austin rattling around in the back seat of the Jeep, a portal marked clearly on his headset. Ever raced in that direction, fumbling to stop the car all at once as he arrived, foot coming down on the other pedal with enough force to throw him forward in his seat, and make Austin hit the passenger's side with a thud.
"Oops." He turned in place to check on the kid, to help get him out of the vehicle, and was immediately jumped.
Austin had the candles in hand, but at least they weren't lit. He pounded them into Ever's face, yelling all the while, bruised and battered and tired but shockingly strong, Ever yelped in reply. He ducked his head, brought up his hands, floundered for a very long while.
Eventually, he got Austin into a headlock and, panting, started to haul him toward the portal --
Gone. It was gone. Ever just stood and stared at the spot where it had been in horror.
