THE PROMPT
Take a look at the 1d10 you rolled in your first post. That is the amount of yards you have traveled away from the portal. Go ahead and start dragging them back through the fog. This is entirely rped so you can drag them back however you want. For Halloween students, your strength has been nerfed slightly, and are now proportional to a Human's strength. For a Hunter, the fog is sapping your strength, making you more lethargic. Your movement and strength is slowed down to a regular civilian's.

For this part, also keep in mind the height and weight of your victim when you take it into RP accord. As your characters are in a very densely populated part of the hospital, hitching a ride via any form of vehicle is not an option right now

As you do you and the victim suddenly end up not anywhere safe and definitely not back to where you started. Instead, it seems like you are somewhere on a long stretch of (Human) highway. There is a very tall skyscraper next to you, covered entirely in vines, though the top of the skyscraper seems to have shattered. It hurts your head to look at the building, but as you turn away, you feel something shaking around you:

More tendrils unravel from the cage of the creature and you hear something whisper in your head. It hurts, and nearly causes you to pass out.

It is not natural for you to accept us?

You suddenly realize all the hundreds, thousands, of tendrils are creatures from Halloween that have been consumed. Their Fear resonates with you, and they scream in agony and confusion no longer themselves. Their loss of identity shakes you to your core.

Without the fog sapping your strength, you feel a renewed power as you pick up the victim and begin to sprint out. You are actually able to take on your natural form at this point to make it faster (where applicable), though the overwhelming crushing nausea of the thing chasing you makes it impossible for you to fly any higher than a few feet off the air. You run. It chases.

Now, write a post in REACTION to what has happened in the entirety of STEP 2 for your RESCUER. You may now choose to continue to run (go to next step) OR stop a little to fight the boss. If you do, the boss has ???/??? HP. If your character (RESCUER) successfully does more than 10 damage to it (remember GUEST STUDENTS Have 2d6-6 dice and QUEST HUNTERS have 2d8-6 dice) you manage to repel it a little bit ICly and it gives your character a bit of a breather. This post should be the exclaim SECOND rp post in your thread!

He looked down at the man at his feet and wondered, not for the first time, whether or not it would be wiser to leave him. Not that Gale even had any intention of doing so, because his conscious would never have allowed for that. But his arms and limbs felt heavier than normal, sweat on his brow as Gale lifted his gaze and squinted through the fog. It was thick and clouding, and he felt so exhausted. Laying down on the ground seemed like a pretty good option right about now, if Gale was being entirely honest with himself. Except leaving the man there was not an option - he couldn't see much at present, but something about the place as a whole made him feel strangely ill at ease.

Gale stooped, reached for one of the man's arms, and hoisted him up with a sharp gasp and a stumble, almost toppling over. He was heavy, the black hair swinging over his slack face, goggles half fallen over his brow, a metaphorical sack of potatoes for all the response he was getting. He heaved and tugged, wincing at the effort, until the man was half draped over Gale's back, legs dragging on the ground behind him.

It was extremely slow going.

In spite of having grown several inches over the course of the past year or so - much to his eternal relief - Gale was still a young man, not particularly muscular even if he was comfortable in his own skin for the first time in years. The man he was carrying, however, was at least a good five inches taller, stockier, and thicker around the torso and waist, which meant that all of his weight was now pressing against Gale's back. And, of course, there was also the fact that he was entirely dead weight in general, offering no alleviation from the heaviness.

Gale slogged along, sweat beading on his brow, his breath coming out in ragged grunts. Every step felt like agony, but he knew the portal was just up ahead...he was there...it was there...it had to somewhere in this damn fog...

The skyscraper covered in vines brought back vivid recollections of before - of vines twisting around him and Otto, dragging him to the beach - and then a splitting pain rent across Gale's mind, screams and cries echoing, throbbing, shrieking inside of his chest, inside of his very soul, or so it felt. He almost dropped the unconscious man, gasping for breath, a hand pressing hard against his temple to just make it stop -

He had to run. He had to get out of here.

THE PROMPT
[ If the victim has earned CAR KEYS ] (dont't worry if you haven't been granted them yet, as long as you claimed for it (check END OF DAY 3 GM ORP to see if you are eligible)), this translates to your rescuer finding a car along the highway with the car keys STILL INSIDE it. Looks like you got super lucky! If your character cannot drive you can either have them "fake it" (how hard can it be to press a gas pedal!) or choose another option.

Quote:
A somewhat new Jeep Wrangler. This thing is awkwardly huge, but at least it does its job. (SPEED VALUE +4)

He managed to make it to the car, though how exactly wasn't really clear. By the time he managed to snatch the keys up and get both himself and his cargo into the back (at least the size of it meant that he had plenty of room), he was aching and worn, adrenaline rushing through his veins.

He had to get them to safety.

Gale shoved the key into the ignition and turned it, slamming his foot down on the pedal.

THE PROMPT
As you run, the skyscraper, the entire city bursts into vines. You keep on running. You can't afford to look back. Eventually, you reach a long empty expanse of highway with nowhere to hide. The fog thickens again, heavily weakening your character, locking them in their natural forms (for Halloween) and stopping weapons from their true potential (Hunter). All you know is that you need to get away from the thing.

Pick the ones applicable to your character, click the spoiler and then follow the steps given. This one should be your exclaim THIRD rp post in your solo thread.

He had no idea how to drive.

There'd been no need for him to know how, but he was damned going to try now, the wheels of the jeep screeching as Gale made a particularly sharp turn to get back onto the road. His passenger bounced on the back seat, then almost rolled off before Gale swerved again, his hands white-knuckled on the steering wheel.

The noise was terrible. The creature was catching up to him, and as Gale shifted again, something slammed into the side of the car, sending him careening dangerously to the side. He gritted his teeth together and yanked the steering wheel hard, dragging to the right this time, but straightening out almost immediately.

This was madness. Gale blamed Caelius, Mark by extension, or maybe it was the other way around.

He was almost there - almost -

The tires screamed again as Gale rocketed forward, still wondering if driving simulations counted at all as having experience in driving, half wishing he'd found something less daunting than the ridiculously sized jeep. But beggars couldn't be choosers, so he was just making due with what he had.

And then - finally -

THE PROMPT
As you finally (both Halloween AND Hunter) step towards your respective portals, the VICTIM suddenly grabs a hold of you and attacks you with a rather impressive strength!

You must now fend off the VICTIM and try to drag them into the portal. Just create an RP post as you try your best to fight off the victim. This wastes precious time and by the time you finish fighting them, you realize the portal is gone.

color=red]CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE NOW STRANDED

That's it! You're done the solo part! Please RP out what you need, then continue to the post (STAGE 3) below for some quality PRP time!

He took ahold of the man's arms and very awkwardly dragged him out of the backseat of the jeep. It took a lot of working - Gale almost fell over several times, his breath coming out in ragged pants as he stumbled towards the portal. His chest heaving, a stitch in his side, he slogged closer and closer - he was almost there - it was right there -

- and then arms were latched around his neck and Gale let out a half-strangled yell, the world tilted, and he toppled over. They landed with a crash on the ground in a tangle of limbs, and he felt the scrape of ground against his face, Gale kicking up with his foot. The man gave a yelp and rolled over, hair flying, and Gale staggered to his feet, gasping for breath. The man was out again - his eyes were closed, his head tilted to one side - and Gale closed his own briefly before opening them again.

"Time to portal out," he muttered, turned -

- and the portal was gone.
