It seemed quite clear to Davyne that the only way to move the human back to the portal was to carry it.
Unfortunately, she quickly realised that this was simply not possible. Her first attempt at lifting the human was a travesty, and the second was not much better at all.
Okay. She heaved for breath and re-evaluated the situation again - drag the human to the portal. Yes, that could work!
Re-energized by her brilliant idea, she grabbed the human under her armpits and started moving back towards the portal. It was slow going, as truthfully she was not all that strong and navigating with her back turned was a bit of a hassle. The instruction book had made this sound a lot easier than it actually was, she contemplated as she snailed her way towards the goal. Perhaps that was a fault of guides; they could never quite convey the severity of the situation to its full extent on paper.
This and several other philosophical questions (like 'why are humans so heavy', 'this would really be a lot easier without all this fog' and 'how did I not notice the several tons heavy metal car in the way before walking into it') occupied her mind during the slow process.
Eventually, however, she made it to the portal.
Which now presented a new issue to be considered; how, exactly, did she get in her human when she couldn't lift it.
Stopping to think on this for a bit, she finally decided that the best way was simply to topple the human ghoul through the portal and then follow along afterwards. It was quite easier said than done though, and the actual process was a bit more arduous than she'd thought it to be; nevertheless she persevered and managed to get the human through before following her in.

Well. She surveyed her new surroundings with a strict eye; this was certainly not the destination she'd been assured of. It was definitely not where she'd started, and it did not seem to her to be particularly safe, either; there were more metal cars, a very tall building covered in vines which seemed to hurt like the human-shaped things when looked at - and then, to add more misery to her predicament, there was a large tremor in her surroundings that she'd always associated with the largest Monsters in their natural form.
Davyne closed her eyes for but a moment, breathing in and out and then turning resolutely to face whatever was causing the shakes -
- which turned out to be a gargantuan horse, of sorts, made out of - well, something she couldn't identify, vines and giant flowers and very many reaching hands.
The instruction book had not covered this at all.
The vines were twisting into claws, reaching for them, and never in her life had she been as swift as she was then, grabbing hold of her human -
We will consume you and your Fear will be ours.
- and then something was whispering in her head, the pain of it more than she'd ever been exposed to before. Davyne swayed, fell to her knees and almost lost grip on her human and consciousness. She persevered though, sheer stubborn-ness and the knowledge that someone was counting on her now -
- and then the words registered fully and she felt the Fear of the horse creature; but not the horse creature's Fear, no, the Fears of thousands of Halloween creatures and then she realised what the horse was made of, felt the screams of agony and confusion from all the creeple that it'd taken. their loss of self -
- there were no words for what she felt. Shaken to the very core of who she was, everything she believed; the Sorceress was not often prone to strong emotions, but this was... this was beyond measure.
It was going to take her too and Jack only knew what it'd do with her unconscious human - she couldn't give it that chance. After arriving through the last portal, her strength had been regaining; she had not noticed it missing, but now that it was back she knew that something had hampered her abilities in the foggy area.
But now was not the time to contemplate that; they needed to get out of here, and fast. She threw a quick, wordless enchantment on her boots for more speed, grabbed her human in one smooth movement and ran faster than she ever had before. The enchantment was hasty and not worth much, but she was naturally swift and with her strength regained this was far easier than lugging her human around in the fog had been.
She ran, but the horse chased.

4. A really, really square car that reminds you of Monster Cars from Halloween, without the "Monster" in it. You like the space in it at least! (SPEED VALUE +4)
She ran and ran and had she stopped to think, would have been quite impressed with her own strength in carrying the human ghoul. As it was, Davyne had no time to think - she simply carried on, attempting to keep them out of the thing's reach.
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the city bursting into more vines, but there was no time to stop and think about it - they needed to get away, and quickly.
The fog was thickening and the area was getting more exposed as she went; soon there'd be nowhere to hide, and frankly she wasn't sure how long she'd be able to keep up this speed.
Not long at all, her legs were telling her. The thing was gaining on her and would soon be upon her.
Which was why spotting the metal car with keys lying in the window was such a relief. Now, she'd never driven a car herself before, but surely it couldn't be that hard. No harder than being assimilated into a nightmarish creature and losing one's entire self.
Well, that was an easy decision. Swerving towards the open door, she threw the human ghoul into the seat, slammed the door and rushed to the other side. Getting into the driver's seat and slamming the door with one hand, she reached for the keys with the other and quickly jammed them into the ignition and turned the car on.
She wasn't sure which pedal was the gas but a quick try lead her to it; fortunately the car was pointed in the direction away from the horse-creature, at least.

Although they were speeding down the highway at considerable speed, one of the vines caught up to them, smacking against the car and sending it spinning in a few circles. Luckily the wheels never left the pavement and although Davyne was feeling a bit banged up, she quickly turned the car around and they were off again.

Once they'd covered some distance, Davyne noticed the portal at the end of the highway, much to her absolutely relief. Once there, she hit the brakes for all she was worth and though it was not a skilled parking by any means, it did the job.

She grabbed the human ghoul, hauled her towards the portal and then promptly got a fist in the face for her trouble.
Oh for -
If there'd been time, she'd have sent a glare at the human, but as it was she was busy fending off its attacks without hurting it. They grappled, the human - who still seemed otherwise unconscious - doing her best to hurt the Sorceress and Davyne doing her best not to hurt the human while at the same time dragging her towards the portal.
It was useless - by the time the human finally (and rather suddenly) stopped fighting, she turned around, only to find that the bloody portal was gone.
It was at this point that Davyne heaved a giant sigh of frustration, not quite sure what in the name of Halloween she was supposed to do now. The horse thing wasn't anywhere in sight, nor were there the tremors of it moving - and she'd been grappling with the human for rather a long time, now. If it wanted to catch up, it surely would have in that intervening time.
Which meant that it'd probably given up or been diverted by something. Well, all the better for them; she wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth, no pun intended.
It'd probably be best to go looking for another portal then. Mind made up, she got a good grip on the now prone human, and started dragging her further along.
