As you make your way through the portal, you are assaulted immediately by a grey sort of dreariness, the wispy remains of fog. Around you lies a strange sight: the broken concrete remains of a once metropolitan city, scattered by cars in various stages of urban decay. You walk around some, navigating around hundreds of shadowlings that have not quite gained true form, as well as the occasional slow-moving Infected that are almost a joke to avoid. Are there really civilian survivors in this desolate landscape? You gather as much information as you can see as you examine the ruins around you, noting most of all the strange green vines that populate almost everything beneath the concrete.

The fog begins to thicken again, heavily limiting your vision. You can barely make out anything in front of you, as well as any volunteers. This continues for what seems like hours, before you find a civilian. They are asleep.

Take a look at the 1d10 you rolled in your first post. That is the amount of yards you have traveled away from the portal. Go ahead and start dragging them back through the fog. This is entirely rped so you can drag them back however you want. For Halloween students, your strength has been nerfed slightly, and are now proportional to a Human's strength. For a Hunter, the fog is sapping your strength, making you more lethargic. Your movement and strength is slowed down to a regular civilian's.

For this part, also keep in mind the height and weight of your victim when you take it into RP accord. As your characters are in a very densely populated part of the hospital, hitching a ride via any form of vehicle is not an option right now.

The blonde man was sleeping, seemingly knocked out and looking very disheveled. His long blond hair was unkempt and scraggly, and he had dried blood that was caked onto his face and hands. Had he fought off someone? She had no idea, but he looked pretty worn.

Taking into account her small stature, Radley mentally groaned - how was she supposed to rescue him?

I suggest you drag him, Eilissandra commented, the spiderlike bracelet on her wrist seeming to hum for the briefest of moments. Radley suppressed the urge to roll her eyes. Spidren, it seemed, were masters at stating the obvious, even in answers to sarcasm. It was still a point she was attempting to teach Eilissandra, even if the Spidren didn't understand it at all.

It would take time.

It would also take time to drag this poor man to the portal. Radley let out a long sigh, rubbing the back of her neck.

Better get started.

Inspecting him for bumps and bruises as well as to see what items he had, Radley stuck her fingers in every crevasse where one would hide their goods, unable to help but chuckle at the predicament she found herself in.

What's so funny? Eilissandra asked, polite curiosity dripping off of her question.

"I used to be a thief, and this just feels like I'm returning to my old ways, is all. Ah! A radio!" Radley clicked it a few times, hearing static feedback. Satisfied that it was working, she decided to speak into it, maybe find out if other hunters had found other survivors.

"Hey, anyone out there? Anyone at all? Can anyone hear me?" Radley put her ear close to the radio, shoulders dropping as she didn't hear anyone respond. She knew that the radio worked, but there was no one on the other end.

Grunting as she lowered herself and slung one arm over her shoulder, she began to drag, feeling that it was taking a long time. Jeez, this guy was heavy.

The radio suddenly flared to life and made her heart sieze, and Radley felt like she just had a minor heart attack. The others on the radio were talking about how humans needed sun and evolving and... what???

Radley wisely decided not to comment, shaking her head and just listening to the conversation on the radio. It would be just her luck if the other voices turned out to be Creatures of Halloween.

Huffing and continuing to drag, Radley finally made it to the portal and drug them both through, closing her eyes and taking a breather to gain her strength back. Upon opening her eyes, the trainee saw that she wasn't where the portal was supposed to take them.

Well, this most certainly wasn't home, or anywhere close to safe.

"Eilissandra, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore."

We were never in Kansas to begin with?

Radley rolled her eyes. Humor was lost on her partner.

You did it!

Once you have finally rped getting to the portal, after all your rescuer's blood, sweat and tears, you can go ahead and throw them into the portal and follow afterwards.

As you do you and the victim suddenly end up not anywhere safe and definitely not back to where you started. Instead, it seems like you are somewhere on a long stretch of (Human) highway. There is a very tall skyscraper next to you, covered entirely in vines, though the top of the skyscraper seems to have shattered. It hurts your head to look at the building, but as you turn away, you feel something shaking around you.

Behind you is a ridiculously tall creature made of ??? and vines. It doesn't even seem to be made of Fear. It spans nearly fifty feet, and while at a distance it may have looked like some sort of mutated horse, it begins to unravel, hundreds of vines twisting into claws, and then fingers to grasp at you.

More tendrils unravel from the cage of the creature and you hear something whisper in your head. It hurts, and nearly causes you to pass out.

It is not natural for you to accept us?

Images begin to flash in your head, and they are overwhelming. They show people, thousands of people each second in fear, anger, despair, hatred, loathing- the images flash even faster, and it hurts for you to even remain standing.

It is only the support of your weapon that causes you to regain semi-consciousness again as you force yourself as far away from the thing as possible. Just nearing it causes your head to pound horribly again. You feel a renewed power as you pick up the victim and begin to sprint out. Vines lash at you and you sever them with your weapon without much though. You run. It chases.

A highway stretched out for miles, and glancing to the side revealed a skyscraper that was completely covered in vines. It gave her a headache just to look at it, and Radley shook her head quickly, stepping away almost instinctively.

She stopped her movement as she felt the ground tremble, turning slowly to see a giant mutated horse of some kind, with a skull for a face and roses and fingers and hands growing out of which every which way.

It physically made her sick.

Putting a hand to her mouth, she reeled and stumbled, almost passing out - if it wasn't for Eilissandra screaming in her head, she would have passed out. And quite possibly failed to save the human she'd attempted to rescue.

Images spanned in her head of the hurting, the dying, and so many others that she had no words to describe, and the still-sickening feeling of the thing actually speaking in her head.

Feeling a kind of renewed strength, Radley was able to pick up the human and turn to regard the horse again, and start to run.

There was no time to fight it. She knew she couldn't fight it alone, and booked it out of there.

As you run, the skyscraper, the entire city bursts into vines. You keep on running. You can't afford to look back. Eventually, you reach a long empty expanse of highway with nowhere to hide. The fog thickens again, heavily weakening your character, stopping weapons from their true potential. All you know is that you need to get away from the thing.

[ If the victim has earned CAR KEYS ] (don't worry if you haven't been granted them yet, as long as you claimed for it (check END OF DAY 3 GM ORP to see if you are eligible)), this translates to your rescuer finding a car along the highway with the car keys STILL INSIDE it. Looks like you got super lucky! If your character cannot drive you can either have them "fake it" (how hard can it be to press a gas pedal!) or choose another option.

5. A 2010 Mercedes-Benz convertible. Seriously?! At least it moves really fast and you get to feel the (foggy) wind blowing at your hair while a terrible monstrosity chases after you! (SPEED VALUE +5)

After running for a few minutes, Radley felt her strength begin to wane, glancing back only as the fog started to roll in. Panic began to eat at her mind, but with a gentle feeling from her partner, she looked around for a useful car that they could escape in.

Radley knew jack s**t about cars, so she found the least beat up one that she could, shoving the rescued person into the front seat passenger side, making sure he was buckled in, and then buckling in herself before starting the car.

Luckily, the keys were left in, so she had no problem there.

Off they drove, her foot slamming on the gas and peeling out of there.

Now, with your method of transport you need to escape the highway passage! The exit route is 10 kilometers forwards, one highway ride straight down. Your headset communicates to you clearly that is where you need to be. You start hauling it! Roll 1d6 then add the SPEED VALUE to your dice roll. This is the distance you travel per post before the boss chasing you catches up. If it catches up to you, it hits you for -5 damage to your poor car (and you + the victim!) Keep on rolling until you escape! You may not roll multiple times per post. RP OUT EACH ROLL PLEASE.

When you finally make the 10 kilometers distance, proceed to STEP 4. Make sure you have rped out your reaction to all of entire step 3. You are almost there!

She gained a good distance before the whole car shifted, a loud sound slamming into the side before Radley realized that the stupid horse had freaking rammed into the side of the car.

"What the <********>!" Normally not a swearing type of person, she jerked the wheel to the side and accelerated again, teeth gritting together so hard that it was giving her another headache.

The car wouldn't be able to take much more of this.

As you finally (both Halloween AND Hunter) step towards your respective portals, the VICTIM suddenly grabs a hold of you and attacks you with a rather impressive strength!

You must now fend off the VICTIM and try to drag them into the portal. Just create an RP post as you try your best to fight off the victim. This wastes precious time and by the time you finish fighting them, you realize the portal is gone.

CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE NOW STRANDED

Having floored it, Radley skidded to a stop in front of the portal, sighing in relief and glancing back just to make sure they had made it away from that creepy horse thing. Opening her door and darting to the passenger side, she unbuckled the man and glanced towards the portal to make sure it was still up.

Fingers wrapped around her wrists, making her yelp in surprise. Being as short as she was, she couldn't fight him off, but attempted to drag him with small pulls.

He was still a little disoriented, and stumbled a few times, but the blond was by far the bulkier of the two and only ended up in a standstill between the two of them.

"No, I'm just trying to help, we have to go-" Radley tried to speak, glancing back. Her stomach sank with dread.

The portal was gone.
