Personality: Virtues Passionate - Prague is super enthusiastic about her chosen work and pretty much anything else that grabs her interest. And she wants to share the awesomeness with everyone. This passion is part of what makes her a good teacher. It's hard to show disinterest when you have a lively, tail-waggingly joyful Grimm expounding on ancient life. Or the book she just finished. Or that hot new band. You guys. They are SO GOOD.
Observant - Prague certainly doesn't look it, but she is quite observant. You need to be in her field, where one tiny, missed clue can mean the difference between securing another grant for the summer or leaving a dig forever. Now, while she's not the second coming of Sherlock, she does take quiet note of everything around her and uses all of her senses to their utmost when it comes to observing the world around her.
Encouraging - YOU CAN DO THE THING. Really. Prague believes in you! So much so that she will (and frequently has) done without her own little comforts in the interest of cheering someone on, whether they're a student or peer or a random stranger on the street. Prague will be your cheerleader, friends! Let her encourage you to be the best you can be.
Flaws One-Track Mind - Prague frequently (alarmingly so) gets caught up in doing something and tends to forget the rest of the world until that one thing is taken care of. She honestly tries to keep it from happening, but she has a one track mind when it comes to what she sees as important. Like the time she stayed too long at a dig and forgot that she was supposed to be reporting back to Leviathan for the Fall semester. She'll argue that she was doing something super important, but she'll also admit that her zoomed in focus can be a bit of a problem sometimes.
Short Tempered - Though Prague may come across as the most cheerful and enthusiastic of puppies, please trust us. Do not make her angry. In spite of appearances it is really easy to strike that one wrong nerve and that is when Prague goes from YAY ISN'T THIS THE BEST FRIENDS to RAWRHISSGROWLDESTROY. She hasn't yet lashed out at a student, but her thrashed and much-mended office is testimony to a temper that flares up at the worst of times.
Opinionated - Do you have opinions? Well, Prague has OPINIONS. Which she will loudly and stubbornly cling to regardless of how well-reasoned your argument might be. While she's not entirely hidebound, she does have a set of thoughts that are so ingrained that it would take several acts of more than one god to alter them. Have fun!
Likes • Books • Hot Bubble Baths • Seeing that visible flash of OH. NOW I GET IT. in the faces of her students. • Digging up fossils. Duh. • Fancy teas
Dislikes • Politics • Closed minds • Frou-Frou people and things • Blood. The sight of it freaks her right the hell out. • Grumps
Hobbies Gardening - It seems that even during her off-time, Prague can't get away from digging in the dirt. She loves her tiny garden and is always on the look out for new and interesting plants to tend to. There's just something so soothing about puttering about with green, growing things. She is particularly proud of her rosebush and has named it Steve.
Reading - Though active by nature, Prague loves to curl up with a good book and get lost in whatever world the author has created. Her small home is half library at this point.
Dance, Dance - When she's not working, gardening, or reading, you can typically find Prague out where the music is good and the dancing lively. She loves throwing herself into the rhythm of the music and has recently discovered mosh pits. How can you not love something so energetic and free? Prague doesn't need all those silly planned and stiff dances. Just give her a fun song and some room and she will dance her tail off.
Race Views Grimm - Prague makes it a point to get to know any Grimm she comes across. She's immensely proud of her race on the whole, though there are those individuals that cause her to want to band her head into a wall. Still, they are ultimately few and far between. Though not part of a formal pack, Prague is not a lone wolf either. A++, would howl with again.
Other Races - As a cache orphan, Prague grew up surrounded by members of the other races and on the whole, has zero issues with them. It's a little hard to be prejudiced when you're constantly surrounded by multiple viewpoints and customs. Nah, Prague likes the other races overall.
Backstory: Prague has spent most of her life surrounded by academia. As a cache orphan, she was raised at the Academy and exposed to all manner of opinions and thoughts. Though a bit fonder of learning as much as was possible as opposed to running around howling and showing off her muscles like some of the other Grimm who'd been awakened with her, Prague nevertheless discovered a passion for digging (literally) for ancient life while she was young. The idea that strange and wonderful creatures used to live before any Nightmare or Daydream inflamed her imagination.
When she graduated the Academy, she went off to Leviathan and worked hard to achieve the best marks possible. It took time, but she did it. After she left University, Prague threw herself into traveling and digging. Admittedly, her temper insured that she stayed out at a dig for as long as possible. It was much easier for her to control it if she didn't have to worry about other people around to set her off.
It was during one of these digs that her team had been told to expect a visit from another paleontologist who would be sharing the work at the dig with her. At first, things seemed to go well enough. Both teams worked well together and got along decently when not working. It was almost an ideal situation. At least, until the litch leading the other team decided to drink a little too much as the teams were celebrating a rather fine find. The jibes were friendly at first. Prague could ignore them. It was when the litch wouldn't stop insulting her and finally wound down his drunken tirade by calling her a filthy beast with no more wit than a rock that Prague's famous temper flared up.
It's unclear who threw the first punch, but the end results were a justly thrashed litch and a Prague with a new facial scar. Almost immediately after the fight, Prague wrote to her sponsors and confessed to getting into a fight and why and stepped down from the dig. From there, she'd heard through the grapevine that Leviathan was hiring a new Paleontology teacher and applied. And when the job offer came, she accepted it gratefully.
She still goes out on digs, but now that she has a teaching position, she can afford to be pickier about who she works with. And thus avoid future fights.
She still talks to that litch sometimes too. In the time since their throwdown, he's become almost tolerable and a little more open minded. Prague found out after she'd been teaching for a few years that the litch had written a glowing recommendation for her, stating that she had a flexible and brilliant mind.
Not bad for a cache orphan, really.

Quote: Your Nightmare has just woken up on a day where they have class. What is their morning ritual? How do they get ready? The sound of the alarm broke through Prague's dreams as she sat up and blinked muzzily. Alarm. Why had she set the alarm... And then, the answer flashed out.
It was the first day of the new semester! She had a class of young, wide-eyed and bright students to meet and bestow wisdom upon! Grinning delightedly, she thumbed the alarm clock off and stretched. As she clambered out of bed, she flipped on the lights, her music and stripped off her nightgown before marching into the bathroom and turning on the shower.
New class and new students meant that she would need to look her very best! First impressions were important and she wanted her students to feel comfortable with her. As she stepped into the blissfully hot water and began to soap herself up, she considered what to wear.
She had a couple of nice suits, but no. Too formal. No, she wanted the kids to understand that she was a good teacher because she worked in her field. Clean shorts and that nice, new flannel shirt she'd found. That would do.
Humming loudly, she rinsed the last of the soap from her hair and tail before shutting the water off and stepping out. From the bedroom, she could hear the music she'd turned on to help pump herself up for the day. Wet tail wagging, she did a little shimmying dance as she dried off, paying particular attention to her tail.
Only when she could detect a faint dampness did she exit the steam filled room. Ah, the music was pumping through her blood now, energizing her. Leaping across the room, she laughed as she rooted through her closet for the clothes she'd need. It was a pity that she couldn't tell the other staff at school how exilarating it was to dance around one's room in one's underwear while getting ready.
There, she was dressed. Twisting her hair into a loose and messy ponytail, she grabbed a brush and took it to her tail. Her tail always fluffed out so nicely after a good brushing!
Only one bit left and that was her perfume, a soft, woodsy scent that made her think of the outdoors without being overly... well. Girly.
Glancing at her clock, she found her tail wagging again. Only two hours to get ready this time. She was improving! Still, she'd grab breakfast on the go, as per usual when school was in.
Seizing her school bag, the grimm darted out of her home, locked the door and raced for Leviathan. New classes, new classes, she had new classes to teach! Oh, this semester would be wonderful. She just knew it!

Crit incoming!- Appearance and First Post: Looks good. - Personality: Looks good. - Backstory: Sounds like he deserved it. Looks good. - RP Prompt: Looks good. The only issue here is, ah, the nature of paleontology. It's kind of the kid that everyone wants custody rights of in academia. It's usually considered a science, not a humanity--and the humanities is what Asterion specializes in. If Prague studies prehistoric Nightmares, then she would absolutely teach at Asterion, since that would put her into the category of Anthropology. But if she studies other organisms--such as plants or animals--then Prague would not teach at Asterion--she would be considered a scientist and would teach at Leviathan. Either is acceptable--all we need to know is what her specimen of focus is. <3

XD I actually had her as being at Leviathan way back and I think Lady A told me it had to be Asterion since it was a History thing. But if she needs to be at Leviathan, I will shove her fluffy butt right back!

DaisyMilk She is all about the other organisms. XD I actually had her as being at Leviathan way back and I think Lady A told me it had to be Asterion since it was a History thing. But if she needs to be at Leviathan, I will shove her fluffy butt right back! Well...I don't agree with that. According to academics in real life, if a subject has to do with humans in the past, it's either history or anthropology (depending on whether those humans predated the invention of writing). But if a subject is about plants or animals in the past--say, evolution or genetics or something--it is invariably classified as a science, not as history. Whether paleontology is a geological science or a biological science depends on who you ask (my university treated it as a joint science, with its building halfway between the geology department and the biology department). Edit: I found where it's noted in her bio! Welcome, Prague!
