Having escaped from... WHATEVER it was she was running from, Dani finally found time to catch her breath. At least, for a moment. Maybe it would be safest to find a room to rest in. At least, it would keep her out of the hall and away from potential attacks.

It definitely seemed like a good idea at first, like all the "good ideas" Dani had previously, but the moment she stepped into one of the rooms, everything went black.
Whether it was a dream or reality, she didn't know, but when she came to, Dani was startled by a horrifying revelation.
She... was infected.
It was something she dreaded, and perhaps also something she had expected, but... this... nothing could have prepared her for this.
Dani shook, clutching herself tightly. She was scared, of course, but more than that, she knew there was something she had to do.

She... had to kill herself. Very soon, she would lose all ability of reason, and would just blindly lash out at anyone and everyone. She wouldn't even be able to tell she had been once human, once an aspiring researcher who planned to open her own lab, write research papers, make life-changing discoveries in the field of pathology...
All of that would be for naught. All her dreams and aspirations...
Soon, she wouldn't even know who she was anymore, and that very thought terrified her more than losing her life. Her identity, her very being... all because of something which may have been prevented if she had been more diligent. If only she had worked harder... if only she had completed her research...

A tear trickled down her face. It couldn't all end like this. It just.. couldn't! But... as an individual who sought to put healthcare above individual standards, she couldn't sacrifice humanity's safety for her own selfishness. Her pride, her arrogance... it held no place here. If an individual's sacrifice could save countless others, there was no question what must be done. That didn't mean the very thought wouldn't terrify her though. Who would be able to look death in the face and laugh? A very select few. It made her wonder if she was one of those few but... considering she was shaking so much right now, heart pounding against her chest, it was safe to say she was downright terrified. To die for mankind? It was something even the most kind-hearted and selfless would be fearful of. But she... she had more than just that to die for, right? She still had someone she cared for. It wasn't JUST herself, or for nameless people she didn't know. There was something... more. Something that would justify all this, and knowing that, it eased her fears slightly.

That's right, this wasn't the end. It never was.
Determined to see this through, Dani reached into her bag, and slowly pulled out her knife. Her hand still shook, but she lifted it up to her neck with a smile. She would.... she would...

The knife clattered on the ground as Dani's eyes widened.
She... would be ok? She clutched herself and cried.
This... this wasn't the end. It never was. At least... not for now.

OOC: SCENARIO 2

Scenario requirements: Your character steps into one of the hospital rooms accidentally and blacks out. When they wake up, they realize everyone around them is an Infected (terminal virus stage). The hallucinations have gone to their head, making them believe they are all Infected, including themselves. React accordingly. PVP is turned on, but if your character takes more than -10 damage, they snap back to the reality of the situation.

If more than one character, all characters believe the same. Instead of hitting themselves/each other for -10 damage they can also choose to write an "identity crisis" solo or 250 words about what they plan to do knowing they are Infected. After they do so they snap back to awareness and realize that they are still okay for now.

When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter.

Extra effect: This is a NEW effect and replaces all prior ones!

- Mobs from the mod thread NO LONGER spawn in new threads.
- Bosses when repelled successfully decrease your infection rate by -10!
- If your character "recognizes" the original form of the GM boss, it can ICly call out to them. This will let them do double damage for the rest of the battle!
