Some nights were worse than others; the insomnia as well as the ache from deep inside his chest. Sometimes when he was tired of tossing and turning at night, constantly running the risk of waking Paris, who had her own nightmares to deal with, he slipped out of bed and out of the house and just off the property in order to power up and head towards the city. He was grateful that they lived away from the city, and he was careful not to power up close to his home, lest he run the risk of someone being able to realize there was a knight that lived close by, which could lead them to Paris.
Tonight, he didn't quite make it to the city, but instead rested on the top of a hill that overlooked it. It was maybe another mile to get to the closest building, but it wouldn't take long for a knight. For now, he removed his helmet and shoulder armor to rub a hand against his chest. It still ached although he knew there was nothing he could do to stop it with his starseed being cracked. He also didn't sense the other aura close by.

The edges of the city were Persephone's favorite place to "patrol." There were few people out, even fewer powered people. So there was little reason for her to fear the Negaverse, or anyone else, finding her and interrupting her. But she could feel an interesting aura - a Knight, but she was far from where she had met Hvergelmir. Perhaps she would give things a second shot.
So she approached, curiously, to see the Knight partially unarmored and rubbing his chest. The gesture was all too familiar - she had suffered starseed pains for months, and she still did sometimes.
"Are you alright?" She asked, tone gentle. She was no danger to him, surely he would know that - but no reason not to be cautious.

Valhalla started at the sound of someone's voice close by, but thankfully managed not to jump this time. Not being able to feel auras meant that he was easy to sneak up on, but thankfully not too many have taken advantage of that, probably because they could still feel that he was a knight.
Slowly, he looked up at the woman with green hair, staring at her for a few long moments. He knew her... somehow. But she was different. No longer with a hole in her chest, but he thought he recognized her from that horrible week just after New Years when she helped him, and the time before when they fought together to save civilians.
"Persephone?" he asked softy, cautiously in case he was mistaken. It had been several months, and obviously a lot had changed for the both of them.
Remembering she'd asked him how he was, he quickly nodded his head and pulled his hand away from his chest. "Yeah, I'm fine." Nothing that she should be concerned about at least. "You're... different," he said in a breath, although he hoped she realized he didn't mean it as a bad thing.

It took Persephone a long moment - she had to tilt her head to the side and squint, until finally it clicked. "Oh! Valhalla!" She remembered thinking he was bold and brave - and that he had been a prisoner, too, when Hver was. She swallowed. The association was uncomfortable. Hver had insisted she was wrong, practically said she couldn't be trusted to make decisions for herself.
She hoped Valhalla didn't feel that way too. "Yes! I am Persephone." And then she flopped down next to him unceremoniously, stretching her legs out and leaning back on her hands. "I guess you would've last seen me when I was a corrupt? Yeah, I got out of there, the Negaverse sucks."
To put it mildly. "I saw your hand on your chest." Because she wasn't accepting a dismissal. "My starseed hurts, sometimes, too." She was taking a wild guess, but she was still fairly certain she had at least some chance at being right.
Maybe.

Valhalla stared at the woman in surprise when she sat down next to him, although it was not unwelcome. Perhaps he was used to the one pushing for friendlier relations with those of Chaos, rather than being accepted as one of Order. Still, he remembered that she had been one of the few to help him when he and several others had been held against their will that New Years.
When he mentioned how her starseed hurt sometimes as well, he glanced guiltily away, but lifted his hand to press against his chest once more. It was not lost on him that he'd met her as a White Moon senshi as well, but knew there was nothing he could have done to keep her safe from what the Negaverse had done to her.
"Remarque is a good person," he said as he looked up and over the city once more. "I'm glad you got out of there. Mine was damaged," he admitted after some hesitation. "I've lost a large portion of my memories and my magic doesn't work. I'm trying to find a way to fix it. Or ... at least find out how long I have left like this."
