It was sometime later before G-Man awoke from where he had collapsed on the ground. Drying blood stained the front of his hoody, but at this point, it was just one blotch of red against he fabric among many others. Some of the blood was his own, most of it was not. Sitting up, he wiped at his nose, lips and chin with the back of his sleeve, attempting to clean off any of the blood that had dried there, and he managed to rub most of it away, though when he was finished, he had no idea where to go or what to do next.
His flesh still itched, and now his head hurt. It hurt so damn bad. Infection. Infection. This was how it started! He was done, a goner. Soon, he would be just another shambling wreck, out to feast on the flesh of others, no better than the cannibals of that Casino, no better than Guy, who had only too complacently eaten Jeff like it was nothing.
Shaking, he pushed himself to his feet. He was still behind the hospital, near the wall of thorns, but he didn't trust those now. He backed away from them, and turned back the way he had come. He still wished to remain on the outside of the hospital, afraid to go inside, so he continued to explore outside instead, looking for somewhere safe, though his mind told him again and again that nowhere was safe, not for him, not for anyone.
He was perhaps halfway back around the building when he heard it, a person calling for help. He hesitated before starting towards the voice, and stopping some feet away from the person who lay there, injured.
"Help me. Help me, please!" They moaned at him in a hoarse voice. It was a man, older than him, with graying hair and a wrinkled face and a thin body. "Water, I need water..." He coughed into a fist, his breath rattling in his chest.
OOC: SCENARIO 11*
Scenario requirements: A RANDOM NPC (make up a person!) is hurt in front of you. If you are rping in a group it is just ONE NPC character that is hurt (feel free to rp them out!) They are gravely injured and begin to beg for food and water. If you give it to them (DELETE IT FROM YOUR MINIS INVENTORY). Only one person needs to do this.
You may spend time nursing them back to health, or choose to ignore them and continue onwards. If you choose to ignore them, you take NO infection. If you choose to nurse them back to health, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter as you realize, after a while of talking to them, there was no injured person at all, and you have been talking to nothing
Whenever you rp from this point onwards, you will occasionally see them staring at you from the darkness. If you helped them, they say nothing, if you did not, they accuse you of abandoning someone to die over and over.
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter Characters involved:G-Man Extra effect: Any player in your party [ carrying a flashlight ] will be able to shine it in dark places. This does an additional +1 damage every time they hit any sort of mob (including boss mobs!) when they flash it at them.
This effect ends once the next [ effect in this thread ] is posted up!

G-Man stared at the man for a time. He didn't know him, didn't recognize him or the clothes he wore. He could not place him as being part of any of the factions, not the prison or apartments or university, and certainly not the mall. He was a complete stranger, and something in the back of his head nagged at him, telling him that he would be foolish to help him, that it was dangerous, that he could be faking it and that this was a trap.
"I...I don't have anything I can give you." G-Man lied, feet shuffling beneath him before he took a small step backwards, muscles tensing as if he expected the man to spring up from his spot on the ground and lunge at him.
"Please, help me." The man croaked again, reaching out a hand towards G, and G took another step back.
"I'm sorry, man, but for realsies. I got nothin." He stopped moving back, took a deep breath, and started walking forward again, this time taking a wide berth around the man on the ground.
"I'm sorry." He muttered again as he moved past, head ducking low, eyes squeezing shut as he past.
He did not look back.

It was heard before it was seen. A cacophony of clanks and clatters and metallic screeches disrupted the uneasy air as a thing rolled and clicked into sight. "You said -- you said -- you lied! Lied! You said -- you said -- safe! Not safe! Dead! Dead because of you!"

HP: 50/50 AUTO DAMAGE: 5 per attack Special Effect: A fiend that lurches back and forth, the skulls inside the bingo cage clinking and clattering with every erratic movement. Someone took the time to carve the names of various body parts onto the skulls, however why are you looking at that when there's a friggin huge mouth where its torso should be. And instead of legs this... thing is quite literally rolling around via bingo cage. What. To Escape: Escape by fleeing or deal 7 damage to cause the Infected to flee!

The image of the old man was haunting him, taunting him anytime he glanced out into the fog. He thought about turning around, about going back and helping him.
But he didn't go back. Instead, he continued to trudge forward, a look of defeat in his eyes.
And then he heard it. The clanking, the turning of a metal wheel. It was a familiar sound, but the figure that rolled towards him was anything but. It was a horrific sight, something born of nightmares, worse than anything G-Man had yet to see, and his mind reeled, protesting that what it was seeing could not possibly be real.
But it was. It was right there in front of him. And whatever...no whoever it used to be, G-Man did not recognize.
He fumbled for the knife at his belt, and brandished it with a shaking hand.
"Y-Yo! Stay back!" He yelled at if, taking steps back while it continued to roll towards him, the thing speaking to him, mocking him.
But all at once he knew. He knew he couldn't run. He was going to have to fight. So, with a sick feeling in his stomach, he darted forward, brandishing a weapon that felt flimsy and small in his hand.
And when he got close, when he dug that blade into whatever part of the creature he could manage to actually hit, that's when the familiarity struck, just a small sense, a wrenching in his gut that told him, this was somebody he had known.
He was hit, and he staggered back, gasping.
"Wh-Who are you?!" He yelled at it. "Who were you?!"
The fiend reeled back and forth as it was stabbed, hissing and clattering as its long thick torso-tongue lashed out in return. "LIAR!" It screeched in a booming voice, "Betrayer! You said -- you said -- you lied!"
The fiend wavered, the skulls clinking and clattering madly as it moved back and away, distorted hands held up and in front of what passed as eyes. The tongue flicked up, running along the jagged maw with lips that licked and smacked after a tasty meal.
With a lunge forward it came reeling towards the G-Man, screeching and clattering. "You said! You said! No reason! But -- you don't -- you don't -- you know nothing!"

The tongue lashed out at him, and he stumbled back, fist clenching as tightly as it could around the handle of his knife. From what he hoped was a safe vantage point, he studied the infected creature, mind whirring as it pieced together the details.
Bingo cage. The mouth that chomped and chewed. The voice. The words.
You know nothing!
"G-Guy?" He stammered, incredulous, disbelieving. But if it was Guy, if it had been that man once, it no longer was. And if G-Man wanted to survive this, he was going to have to attack him again.
"I'm sorry, dawg. I'm so sorry." He choked out, ducking forward again and stabbing at that monstrous, disgusting tongue.
"EAR! EAR! BINGO!" The monstrosity clanked and screeched as it leaned forward and reached into its torso, past the lashing tongue down down into the belly of the bingo cage. A monsterous hand closed around a skull that was regurgitated up up and it was standing and watching and --
The skull was dropped as it screeched, hands clutching the vile long tongue. It rolled back back away into the fog and disappeared.
There was a skull on the ground where it left. Of course it hand to land in such a way that its eyesockets were staring. Watching. Judging. Of course it had to have EAR written on it.
