A phone begins to ring as you wander the inside of the hospital. At first you do not want to pick it up, but the noise persists. You wander multiple rooms, and there are multiple phones. Each one you pick is a voice from a person you recognize, begging you for help. Whenever you ask where they are, they hang up. The ringing continues, over and over. If you are RPing this with multiple people, all of you hear the ringing, coming from various phones. It is up to you when your character comes to the realization that the ringing is all in their heads, (or if they need other chars to help them realize so!)
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter.

Gretel decided that outside was too dangerous when she woke up from the black out, she wiped the dry bloods under her nose off and stepped into the hospital with her torch switched on. Different from battery, it worked on a unique energy source. She had never seen something like the glowing red runes written on it either, the material was durable though questionable.
It felt uneasy to walk in a dark quiet place all by herself, even though she was used to do everything by herself. With the limited light from the torch, at least she won't trip over random objects on her path. She searched in the first floor, hoping to see some of the mall rats, especially Jeff. Mustered up courage, she checked every single room she encountered. First it was the empty register, then it was a long corridor with rooms on both sides. There were nothing left, the metal frames of the beds rusted, the curtain tattered from the edge and windows covered with thick layer of dusts. Some rooms even just an empty space, no beds no cupboards. No signs of people. While Gretel was puzzled by the zero existence of infected inside the building, she exhaled a plume of relief.
Not having found anything in first floor, she moved upstairs. There she heard phone rang. It was very weird for the phone to ring in an abandoned hospital, she ignored the noise and moved on to the next room. It was covered in spider webs, the web spread over the whole window, she didn't find anyone in it. The ring went on. She turned the door knot and entered another room which looked like a staff lounge, sofa with springs exposed, cupboard with broken glasses. It was still ringing and her head which was in pain hurt again. Surrendered to the migraine, she decided to pick up the phone. She followed the noise, going into the deeper part of the floor.
Soon, she located the first telephone, push-button style. Gretel picked it up, "Help me, Gretel. Help me." It was Hansel's voice again, she quickly asked where he was but got hung up. "Hello? Hello? Hansel, answer me." She only got the long sound in reply. Ring. Ring-ring. It rang again but not from the phone still in her hand. She put the handset back to its body to track which was ringing. She found the phone at the room opposite, it was a helping call from another familiar person, Jeff. "It hurts, kid, it hurts badly." When she asked of his location, "I was -" it cut off from his side. "Jeff? Jeff? Don't hang me up!" Her voice was dripped with anxiety.
Another phone rang again, this time, she dashed to pick it up and spoke, before another side could say anything. "Jeff, is that you?" It wasn't. "Gretel, save me before it's too late." She recognized the sharp girly voice, it was her roommate. Instead of asking where she was, she hung up on her side, slightly pissed. She didn't need her, she needed Jeff to answer the phone. "Damn it." She ran for the next one rang, "Jeff? It's no time to play. Are you safe?" It wasn't Jeff, but Megan the radio-girl, she asked for help, claimed she felt like dying. Gretel calmly requested her location but she hung up. "A waste of time," she said dryly.
Gretel picked up more phone calls, each time it was an acquaintance asking for her assistance. All of them hung up before she could know where they were. It felt like a prank and being tricked made Gretel unreasonably angry. She lifted up the next one, using a rude cold voice to blame another side. "Is it fun? I don't think so. Who the hell are you?" Another side paused before a voice that she won't expect to hear spoke, "Come to find me, Gretel. I need your help."
The young lady dropped the handset, the spring attached with it bounced up and down, hitting on the short cupboard under it. "Rebec-It can't be......" She stepped backward, meeting the ringing of another phone and more ringings and just more. In great fear, Gretel covered her ears and rushed downstairs to go the the outside. She wasn't right, something was wrong about her, was her infected......?
Gretel had no idea, she simply wanted to live longer, enjoyed her short life longer.
