"Hey Adelaide!" grinned Monica. "Are you ready to go?"

It was always nice to do something with company, Monica thought, especially if it was something as risky as running the perimeter to look for holes in the prison's security. After all, there was always a chance of running into undying here, especially since they seemed unusually attracted to the idea of people gathered in a spot. It was especially nice if the company was someone who knew how to buckle down and get work done, and if company wasn't Cory Gimenez.

(Sorry, Corgi: Monica loved him, but she couldn't bear the thought of him venturing out of the prison right now for any reason other than escaping Delta.)

Adelaide's grin in return was broad. "Am I ready? Hell, I'll do anything to get out of that medbay for a bit." And that was saying something, seeing as she normally was seen there tending to people anyway. Then again, having a job didn't mean you necessarily liked it--least of all in the middle of the apocalypse.

Monica was regaled with the older woman's latest tale from that place in fact: namely, that she had had an awfully fun time teasing some poor psych intern by quizzing him with every ethical question the doctor had forced upon her earlier. (All part of his check up, naturally.) Apparently the kid had been of the opinion that there were right or wrong answers, and that showing even an ounce of pragmatic behavior meant he was a bad guy.

"He was wound up tighter than a jack in the box spring," Adelaide told the girl as they reached the fence, clearly pleased with herself. "How do people say it now? He had no chill I think is how you'd put it. Like there's any such thing as good and bad now."

Luckily for them, it didn't look as though any infected had gotten through the fence, though it still looked like it was in need of some repairs.

Monica found herself giggling. "I haven't set foot in there, yet - " she admitted, because mostly Monica's abilities in the medical wing consisted of sitting around and looking worried while Greta fixed Cory up. Hey, that was kind of useful! To...to someone. Right? Maybe she was comforting.

Hah. There was a reason Monica had been tasked with the jobs of running around and grabbing things - she was much better at it. She couldn't sit still, and she was quick enough, both to escape undying (ugh) and to avoid being hit too hard.

"Poor guy," Monica said, shaking her head. "We have enough to worry about what with the undying even existing..." And yet, was there really a solution to that? It wasn't like their faction wanted robots: they just wanted to ensure that no one was completely unwilling to help anyone. "Did you work in the medical ward even before all of this started happening?" she asked, after a bit. She hadn't been imprisoned long before that first day, and her sentence had only been for a month anyway. If anything she was glad that she was still here, actually. She wasn't sure where she'd have hidden if she was back home. It wasn't like she and her brother had an electric fence!

Speaking of electric fences, Monica turned back to theirs. "This pole looks pretty unstable," she said, reaching out gingerly to touch it. "What do you think?"

"Nope. I was a private tutor for English classes," Adelaide replied as she eyed the pole. "Secondary and university levels. Think this thing'll need some TLC..." Spitting into her hands ,she rubbed them together and began to pull out some tools.

"Would you believe I remembered medical crap from fanfiction research?" She clearly wasn't abashed to talk about it. "Not a whole lot, but enough: don't use hydrogen peroxide on wounds, don't put ice on burn wounds, that sort of stuff. Sometimes it came in handy with the boys."

[10 bars x2 for Monica Lt. Status = 20 bars hot damn]
