It had been... months and months since Ida had last seen the smallest member of her asteroid family. It had come as something of a surprise to get a message from the young girl asking to see her and with that had been a flash of guilt. She was ashamed to admit she had barely thought of the chibi senshi in that time, too wrapped up in her own troubles to spare time for someone she should have been guiding and mentoring. She'd failed miserably at that thus far, so there had been no way to refuse the request to see her. Ida had been there when she awakened. She felt responsible.

Ida found her way to the place Florentina asked her to be, at the time in the message. She was even a little early, wanting to make a good second impression to make up for her absence thus far. Gold heels tapped lightly as she walked along the curb in the quiet neighborhood, one foot in front of the other and hands clasped behind her back. She had a feeling the young girl lived around here... the area looked familiar from the first time they had met. Thankfully, there were no youma around this time... even with her senses stretched wide, she couldn't feel anything nearby. It was a relief, both because there was to be a chibi about, but also because Ida herself didn't much feel up to confrontation to today... or at all lately, really.

As the eternal turned the corner, she pulled her phone from subspace and sent the chibi a message, letting her know she had arrived. Hopefully the time was in that golden window between too early and too late, where a young girl could spare some time when her parents weren't looking, but before she stayed up too late with school the next day.

While Ida could blame herself for not 'thinking' about Florentina if she really wanted to, there was very little else she could take blame for. The tiny senshi had not been wandering the streets all this time, nor putting herself in danger, waffling from the lack of guidance. No. The chibi senshi of lilies had probably only powered up 2 or 3 times after her awakening before her parents had discovered their daughter attempting to sneak out of the house far past her bedtime. It'd only taken two attempted (and thwarted) sneakings out and the 'delusional fantasy' she spouted to them about being a super hero and needing to go fight monsters before they'd decided to lock down their 8 year old child.

And for over a year, with overly watchful eyes always on her, Evangeline had nothing to do other than simply return to being a child. She might have even kind have half forgotten all about it until the fateful day she stumbled across her funny looking pen mixed in with her paints and markets in her art kit.

Time had also, thankfully, faded the worry and memory of her parents, and with a tiny bit of caution Eva was able to sneak out once more. The first time she'd powered up had been more of a test. As if to convince herself that it hadn't simply been a dream when she was littler. And after skipping and playing around some of the light poles she'd rediscovered her phone, opening it to find the only contact she had - the pretty flower senshi who had helped her on that first day she got her pen.

She was excited to get a response back so quickly, and the next night made her way towards the intended meeting point. When her phone beeped with a message that excitement turned to delight and her skip became a run. She was out of breath by the time Ida came into sight, but Florentina didn't stop until she almost crashed into the older girl, eyes wide.

She had meant to give a polite greeting when she arrived, but she was just too excited to manage, instead simply panting out. "You look so different! And pretty!" A small hand reached up to try and take one of Ida's as she stared at.. what looked like glowing.

Ida felt the little girl before she saw her and she turned at the sound of running steps. The sight of the pale pink hair and vibrant petal skirt pulled a smile from her without effort as she opened her arms. It felt natural to have the younger girl run into them and Ida braced for being crashed into, a laugh breaking from her as she caught the small body.

So few things made her laugh these days...

"Florentina! Its so good to see you again!" She said as she crouched down, hands on the puffed sleeves of Florentina's shoulders. Ida let the younger girl take her hand for inspection, her shoulder lifting and dropped dismissively. "Thanks... its something that happened with my planet while I was there, after a lot of other things happened. There are a bunch of other people who've been doing things on their planets to and they've started glowing like me. We're calling it Transcendence."

How many times had she had to explain it already? How many more before it became so common place it didn't need explaining? There was no answer to the second question. The glow was a good thing... it would be a good thing to see more of their friends wearing it.

"What have you been up to?" The older girl said as she settled back to sit on her heels. "Its been... oh months and months since I've seen you. Over a year, I think. You've gotten taller!"

It was strange how you could know someone so little and yet still feel.. so much more. Maybe it was just because she had been so nice and cool. Or one of the only senshi that the tiny one had ever met. But Florentina couldn't help but feel something for the elder senshi, like the older sister she never had. And Ida's arms extended the tiny senshi of lilies was happy find a place within them giving a tiny and childish hug before she stepped back.

The inspection of the transcendent markings was with with wide eyes and interest, though unlike an older senshi she required no more explanation then what had been offered. Not how exactly it happened or what it meant or did. She simply appreciated the beauty of the markings for a long moment before giving Ida a nod of understanding and a wide genuine smile. "I like it. And your new outfit too."

As Ida shifted to a more comfortable position, politely down closer to Florentina's height, the chibi stepped back herself giggling a little bit at the mention of her height. "I am a little bit taller, but I'm still one of the smallest in my class. Mom says I'm a late bloomer!" Which seemed particularly funny to the little girl, as she was currently dressed like a pretty little flower.

The mention of her class and Ida's question was enough to send the chibi into a childish tizzy however and the other senshi was assaulted with probably way more information than she'd expected or wanted as the little girl prattled on with excitement. "I just started the 4th grade! My best friend Tiffany isn't in my class this year but I've met a couple other nice girls so that's okay. Plus we can still play together during recess. My teacher is really nice too and I'm excited to start learning more about multiplication. Oh and I met a friend over summer who is teaching me how to walk cats! Did you know that they take walks on leashes too? But probably not my cat because he's big and fat and lazy. He's a snuggling and carrying around cat more than a walking cat."

There was hardly a breath between each sentence or topic, chattering about the silly little things that seemed so important to a child. But finally, as she stopped to take a breath manners suddenly dawned on her and she paused, releasing a deep breath before she bowed her head slightly. "I'm really really sorry that I haven't been around to help you out since we met. My mom and dad caught me sneaking out and I was grounded for a really long time."

"But I promise I'm going to try really hard now and be much more helpful!" Did the other girl forgive her? Florentina certainly hoped so, the slightly hint of puppy dog eyes featured on her young face.

Ida blinked for a moment, confused by the comment on her outfit. When she finally puzzled it out, she laughed, shaking her head.

"Oh goodness... its really been that long, hasn't it? Yeah, I was just a super last time, wasn't I? One of the cats, Horatio, upgraded me a bit after I met you. It was a few months after that, that I transcended." Her eyes swept down the young girl, drinking in the details that had changed over their time apart. It felt like a life time since she'd met her, the day she awakened. More than a life time, even, but she knew if she sat down and actually counted the months, they would be fewer than she expected. That's how senshi life was... time passed different, both faster and slower than it seemed. Ida could hardly remember the girl she had been, back then. So much had happened to her and so much had changed. Would Florentina even like the person she'd become in that time?

It was something of a sobering, and saddening, thought. She didn't even like the person she had become, most days. Ida listened with most of her attention as Florentina rattled on about her class and her friends, her chatter unintentionally widening the gap between them. It was all so... normal. Normal little girl happenings and concerns. Things she'd had, once. Things she missed.

The sudden apology pulled her out of her thoughts and Ida's eyes widened before she smiled and reached out to grip the small shoulders, giving them a warm squeeze.

"You don't have to be sorry about that. You need to do what your parents tell you to do. Being a senshi is dangerous, its not a bad thing to stay home sometimes where its safe." She said before she pushed up to her feet. She offered her hand to the small girl, her head tilted to the side. "How much do you remember, about being a senshi? If you're going to be powering up again, I want to make sure you know everything you need to know... do you remember what your magic does?"

It had been a while, since she'd had the opportunity to mentor someone... and the last one hadn't gone so well. Hopefully, she'd do better this time, with this senshi.

Florentina remembered the kitty cat that had awakened her. So when Ida mentioned another one she nodded with interest. The cats could upgrade you and give you new outfits? That was pretty neat!!

The chibi was woefully oblivious to Ida's deep thoughts and emotional trauma, having not experienced much of it at all in the brief couple of times she'd been powered. Had she noticed that the woman was sad while she was prattling away she would have taken a moment to stop and offer her a great big hug. But she did not unfortunately. Maybe someday.

The squeeze and words of comfort brought a look of relief to the little girl's face. Ida wasn't mad, so that was good! And now she could try and make up for it and be a good little helper. Small fingers easily slipping into the young woman's hand, she was happy to be led along, answering the question asked of her with chipper enthusiasm.

"Oh I know what my power does! It makes the monsters not be as mean or scary for a little bit." A pollen that softened the aggression of her opponents for awhile. It was a pretty useful supportive skill, but not necessarily helpful for the tiny senshi on her own.

"Ohhh!" She added suddenly when the thought hit her, her hand squeezing Ida's a little tighter. "There was a monster.. one that looked like a twin of me. She was trying to get me but a knight helped me. I hope I don't have to see a monster like that again." She was so very green. Never having met the Negaverse nor the Dark Mirrors. Only a couple youma and one very tiny but scary shade fairy.

"That's good." Ida said as she gave the small hand a squeeze while they walked and she listened. That made things a little easier, and hopefully Florentina didn't need prompting to know when to use her magic.

She glanced down as her hand was gripped tighter and her eyebrows went up in surprise.

"I remember those..." Ida said softly. "I had a twin too, who was all grey and tried to hurt me. We ended up fighting a really big one in the lake before we defeated it and they disappeared. I'm glad you weren't hurt. Do you remember who the knight was? I'd like to thank them, if I see them again."

The older senshi wondered if it was someone she knew. It would be nice to know a friend had helped Florentina.

"You probably won't see any more of those shade monsters again, but there are other things to watch out for, and people who aren't safe. Hmm... do you know how to feel when a Negaverser or a youma is nearby? Not with your hands, but like... with your mind? Its really useful and everyone like us should learn how to do it."

"His name was.." She started quickly before pausing just as suddenly, tiny nose crinkling as she tried to call forth the weird name. Senshi and knight names were funny, so different from the normal names people had. Really it was very lucky that Ida's name was so short and easy to remember. Her tiny face seemed lost in concentration for a long moment before she finally found the name she was looking for, a bright 'ah ha!' look touching her face with the small victory. "Bimini! He was white and blue and sparkly. And he let me ride on his shoulders while we were trying to get away so she couldn't get me as easily."

It'd been really really scary at the time and she really genuinely hoped never to see something like the little shadow her again. But thinking about it now and back on the silly knight she couldn't help but smile a little. The tight grip loosened just a little again as Ida confirmed that the shadowy people should be gone.

As the advice was dispensed she listened avidly, eyes focused upwards. "Negaverser?" She piped up curiously, before shaking her head at the question asked of her. "No I don't know how to feel those things, can you show me?" Eva genuinely loved school and learning so there was no way she was going to pass up a little 'senshi school'!

'Bimini' was a name to tuck away in her memory and Ida made a mental note to keep an eye out for him, in his 'white and blue and sparkly'. She'd like to thank him, if nothing else, for being kind to a little girl she found she cared about a good deal. Ida had never had a little sister, but she liked the feel of it, being with Florentina.

Drawing the young girl with her, Ida took a seat on the curb and tucked her feet to the side under her. She let the little one sit beside her before she let go of her hand, not wanting the distraction of touch to muddle anything up for her.

"Okay well... Everyone has an aura to them, sort of a feeling that other people like us can sense. You give it off when you're powered up and its unique to your type of senshi. With practice, you'll be able to tell how strong someone is and what side they are on." She explained as she curled her fingers together and put them in her lap. "Now, close your eyes and focus on feeling... To me, power signatures feel sort of like... warmth, in my mind. You'll be able to feel me and it should feel good, because I have Order energy from my planet. It should be pretty strong too... I'm an Eternal and at my strongest right now."

It was one of their most important tools, being able to sense other power signatures. It was important Florentina learned this skill if she learned nothing else at all about being a senshi. It was the best way to keep her safe, if she could tell friend from foe and give herself a chance to run away if they were too strong for her.
