It felt... It felt to the shy, brown haired girl as if she'd never escape the suffocating fog... She was slightly jumpy and paranoid, she could feel it... Even the smallest none breathy whisper made her jump ever so slightly...
Finally... At long past... A pare of rusted gates come into view! As she slowly passes through them, the fog thins and a hospital comes into view... This was not good... She'd never played Resident Evil before, but she did remember hearing about a hospital portion of the game... She was not going in there... But where should she go... Were other people even here...? Or... was she alone in this infected infested defunked sanctuary of health...
Eventually, as she wandered around the grounds, it was a comforting orange sphere of light that drew her in... Her paranoia said no, it's a trap! But her aching feet and longing for human company overrid the paranoia. As she enters the warm sphere of light, she notices there were three other people! A muttering woman, a balding man telling a rather morbid story, and a boy who was far to young to be on his own... It wasn't great company... But it would have to do...
Silently, she sits near the fire before relaxing a bit... She was pointedly ignoring the man's morbid story, she was a Grimm buff, it didn't bother her too, too, much... But the woman's muttering... That bothered her... "She lied... She lied... She lied... She lied..." over and over and over again it went! The repetition didn't bother her, what the mocking voice said earlier did... Every time she heard "She lied." Ellie couldn't help but feel guilty... She'd all but promised the woman at the Casino she'd save her... But she didn't...
The unfaltering stare from the boy was unnerving too... He was far too young to have survived all this on his own... And why was he staring at her...? Maybe this wasn't such a good idea afterall... Her paranoia just seemed to be increasing... And after a few minutes of sitting there she realized her skin kept randomly itching in places...
Oh dear... She needed more company...
----
Unfortunately, no other company ever came... To say Ellie had been anti-social wouldn't be accurate, she just hadn't actively sought company until now... But because of this, she didn't know anybody... She really was alone now... The breathy whispered voices in her head weren't helping either... Some mocked her, some pitied her, others fixated on the balding man's ever increasingly morbid story- "Ah mah wife, now that was a sadin'... Twas in her best dress teh! Eyes all blank 'n dead when I pulled 'er up..." Flinching, the story was starting to become too much for even her to bare...
The more paranoid voices kept fixating on the boy who never once looked away from her since she arrived... And the guilt ridden voices fixated on the muttering woman... All the many different voices kept speaking at once and she was starting to feel frustrated... It was getting hard to pick them apart... She was also really starting to get a a headache... The fire was no longer inviting and her feet had stopped hurting enough, it was time to leave...
Sighing resignly, Ellie gets up and glances at the boy before frowning... Was ut really safe to leave him alone with... these two? The boy didn't seem intent on moving or following her... "B-be safe..." she whispers quietly to the group before leaving the protective warmth to reenter the fog's cold embrace.
