Scenario requirements: A phone begins to ring as you wander the inside of the hospital. At first you do not want to pick it up, but the noise persists. You wander multiple rooms, and there are multiple phones. Each one you pick is a voice from a person you recognize, begging you for help. Whenever you ask where they are, they hang up. The ringing continues, over and over. If you are RPing this with multiple people, all of you hear the ringing, coming from various phones. It is up to you when your character comes to the realization that the ringing is all in their heads, (or if they need other chars to help them realize so!)
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter. Characters involved: Haagendazs St. Pierre Extra effect: n/a.

He was inside, away from the fog that felt as thought it were plucking along his skin like it were alive. It didn't feel better inside. Dazs touched a door, pressing his palm flat against it; it swung open, leaving his palm grey with sticky dust. He wandered a while, wondering what could possibly be here for them. His mall rats... someone had told him not to stay the night, that it was more dangerous than a hospital had any business being, but Dazs thought -
A phone rang.
He frowned, moving forward. Another rang. And another. Well, wasn't ti just ******** peachy that this place, too, had perfectly working electricity. At least he'd gotten a makeshift bath at the casino; they likely hadn't wanted to eat filthy food. He passed by another phone and it rang, making him jump. Maybe... he should answer. With fingers that shook not jsut because of the chill, he picked up the handset.
"Help me, Dazs, You could've; you can. You had the coins, I know. Please, Dazs, help-"
"J-Jeff? You're... here? Jeff, where are you?"
Click. Trembling, he put the phone back down. In another room.... a phone rang.
She came upon him slow and steady, like a thing out of a half forgotten dream.
She'd seen him before, of course, as all mothers knew what it was like to look after children, even if they were not their own, and he was so young. So small. Had paid the price in coins for the collar off his neck, but that was a far away dream, now, locked away in a fog days and years ago, miles away, an eternity misplaced.
Red 7 shambled forward, head tilted at an angled markedly inhuman, a stuttering croak coming from her throat.
"Child," she whispered, green eye bright, the other beholding a most magnificent red rose. "Child, come here."

HP: 50/50 AUTO DAMAGE: 5 per attack Special Effect: An older woman dressed as poison ivy, hunched low. Oddly, the plants that were once costume seem to be grown into her skin, vines weaving in and out of flesh, a stray flower blooming out of one eye socket. Graying red hair is unkempt and her one eye left glows a bright, eerie green. She clutches her head with both hands, her face frozen in a perpetual grin, bloody teeth on display. She emits high pitched, maniacal laughter rather frequently.

He heard her before he saw her and whirled, hands coming up close against his body, afraid it was one of the undying. Or something - this hospital was awful. "R-red? What...." He trailed off. Red's eye glowed unnaturally, and the other was a flower. Looking closely, he could see the way vines snaked under her aging skin. He swallowed and cautiously move closer. Something... was wrong... but... it was Red, and he hadn't met anyone else at all that he knew. Dazs was afraid of being alone.
She eked closer, one hand coming free from her face, thorns peeking through from beneath her skin.
"My child is waiting for you," she whispered, and a laugh burbled free from her lungs, and it was the same, wild raucous sort that was audible from down the mall any time she told a dirty joke in the candy store, before all of this.
And then it shot out, to squeeze around his neck, too tight.
"We are not okay. We are dead and dying, child."

Her child? Dazs tensed as she walked closer. But he stayed where he was, hoping it was okay, needing it to be okay.
It wasn't.
"R-red!" His hands reached up to grab her wrists, feeling the vines that had pressed their way into the spaces under her skin. "S-stop - hurts!" That laugh was almost the same, she was almost the same. It was almost okay. Spots danced in front of his eyes. With one hand wrapped around her wrist, he fumbled for anything he could use to knock her away. Dazs' fingers closed around a knife and he slashed wildly. It bit deeply into her skin and he flinched.
Well, as well as he could, considering. "S-sorry!"
It was like Red didn't see him, didn't hear him. There was something other in Red, a thing pulling at her strings.
She laughed, a wild shrieking thing that was ugly, and she pressed at her neck, even as he opened up her veins.
"They buried her," she murmured, "but they shouldn't have. She was just a demon wearing skin. Are you?"

"RED!" He put as much power into his voice as he could, squeaking the word out past a squeezed esophagus. Tears pricked the corners of his ears. This wasn't her, he told himself, and raised the knife again.
"I'm... m-me. I'm me. I-" A choking noise. "-m me." His blow was glancing, too light to do much.
They sunk slowly down, until knees touched the ground. Her breath hiccuped a finally wheezing laugh, and vice-like fingers slowly let him go.
"And, still: it is not enough." Red's eye grew lidded, the green of it dimming, if only for a moment.
And then she was ambling away, as slowly as she'd arrived.

Dazs was pressed downwards, slowly, the fingers never letting up around his throat. And then, she was backing off, moving away. He sank down completely, shaking, knife still in his hand. Where was Giuseppe? His mom? Anyone? His lower lip trembled.
Somewhere, a phone rang. In a voice rough with anger and disbelief, Dazs yelled: "You're not ******** real! NOTHING IS ******** REAL!" After a moment, the phone stopped. Dazs sat on the floor and, for one moment, allowed himself to curl into a ball. But only for a moment. Slowly, he unfolded his body, wiped his knife off on his shorts, and began to move.
