BEYOND THE BARRICADES At Clearview it is customary to keep the doors and windows of unused apartments barricaded against outside threats. Sometimes these barricades fall, sometimes they just get... moved. Either way, they need to be checked on and strengthened regularly.
Step One - Choose a Material
There are all sorts of scavenged bits of metal and wood strewn around the complex. Your first job is to gather them up and bring them where they need to be.
Roll 1d8 to see which material you will be using.
sheet metal bed frames random wood mysterious chests full of documents plastic laundry bins desks chairs bookcases If completing this quest in a group, each person should roll for their own material.

If you are completing this quest in a group, you may add all of your rolls together for Step Two.
If you complete this quest and write over 200 words, Zelda will reward you with two cocktail umbrellas the next time she sees you! Please claim them in this thread using the faction quest point claim form locatedhere.

She was on the 2nd floor today, which meant that barricades needed to be secure. As in, incredibly secure.
So Mel spent the better half of her evening going through the rooms that weren't occupied, and even those that were, checking to make sure all the barricades that were up were nice and good and well-done. Most were, some looked a bit weaker but still sturdy enough, but she came across one that was just...ridiculously flimsy. Either people had stolen materials from it for other use or someone just managed to overlook it, but whatever the case she knew she had to seriously reinforce it.
Her next round saw to the searching for materials, and she luckily happened upon one of the rooms where were a number of unused desks, of all things. How exactly did they not used these before?

She only thought about that for a second before getting to work and shoving one of them out and toward the lesser barricade. It took a lot more work than she thought it would, particularly when she tried getting the desk out the door, but she did somehow manage to get one of the bigger desks out. The sound of desk-dragging filled the hallway as she went, but soon enough she got it to the right place. She didn't even bother to really plan out where it ought to go; she just shoved it right up against the entrance that needed barricading and stepped back to see if what she'd done was good enough.

It stilled looked a little bit lacking, so she went back to retrieve one of the smaller desks. It was still a challenge but not quite the same as earlier. It had to smaller than the last one though, just because she would have to hoist it up onto the other desk to secure the top half of the barricade, so. The one she picked out was perfect for her purposes, and it didn't take long for her to get it to where it needed to be.
It was fairly light and so getting it up onto the other desk wasn't all that difficult either, and soon enough her work was done!
Mel took a step back from it and gave a simple nod of her head before headed for the lounge. She needed a break, and frankly she felt like she deserved one.
