When the game was being presented, the exact wording used was something to the effect of "You emerge as the soul survivor of vault 111" Which implies that everybody else dies. What I find weird is the fact that you make both a male and a female character at the beginning, they alternate and save the changes you make on both of them and then the one you end with is the one you take control of. This also generates a baby that looks like you two which kind of makes it seem like a waste to kill the other two off.
Also, the residents are, confirmed, cryogenicly frozen, meaning that they are put in stasis and are set to come out of that stasis at a predetermined time. For this to be true, I have some questions:
1. What do they do with the baby? does she/he share a stasis chamber with the mother or get their own?
2. Does "wake up" happen due to system settings or a malfunction? it would be very vault-tec to malfunction and cause the chambers to relese early and.or late which leads me to my next question:
3. What is the specific experiment of vault 111? we know that cryo sleep is a part of the experiment but what are they testing for? are they just trying to see what some 200 year old residents would do with the wasteland, or is it something a little more... Vault tec, like what would happen if all of the chambers released at a different time? what if instead of 1000 dead bodies you find 1000 empty chambers when you wake up? What if being "Soul Survivor" really means "Soul Survivor as far as we know".
