Backdated after this - July/August ishIt had been a long time since Aurora had been sick, well sick enough to trap her in bed. She usually just pushed through it and solidered on, continuing her day through sniffles or minor fevers. But she wasn't really 'sick' this time and there wasn't much point in her trying to tough it out. The energy she'd expended trying to purify Amytis had drained her to the core. The night before she'd been so tired she'd actually passed out in Niflhel's arms as he carried her home. It would take a little bit for her to recover, just as if someone had forceibly drained the energy from her starseed themselves.
Had she succeeded in her task of purification she would have accepted the fatigue proudly. Taken the general feeling of malaise as a badge of honor at a job well done. The thought of an opponent brought to their side and enjoying the return of light in their souls would have been enough to relieve her mind.
But she hadn't succeeded.
And now Aurora was trapped with the thoughts of failure and sadness. With nothing to do but wallow in it as she remained trapped in bed without distraction. Even sleep brought her little relief.
Sighing a little softly, she shifted, slowly looping a few strands of her hair (which was lying loose around her pillows) around her finger in boredom. How long was she going to be stuck here? It really was what she deserved she supposed.. for not being able to help Amytis.

Azzo was carrying in a tray of food, mainly soup - which was a almost more like a stew having meat and vegetables in it, accompanied by bread with a small side of fruit and dessert.
"Really if you continue to sulk I'm going to think that I've rubbed off on you. What will your brothers think?" He said with a soft teasing tone in his voice. He wasn't really sure how draining trying to purify anyone was but clearly Aurora had over done it by a hell of a lot. He sat the bed tray at her lap. "Eat."
He added as he sat beside her looking expectantly, her hair hadn't been done in days, and he was slightly worried, "I mean I know my cooking is horrendous but you gotta eat something." He was also slightly kidding on that, though his cooking couldn't hold a match to her own.

The sound of footsteps drew her eyes upward, watching Azzo (and his tray) with soft interest. In her dreary mood she wanted to glower at him when he teased her - mention that she should be allowed to be grumpy herself from time to time. But that was practically impossible when she looked at her fiancee, especially when it was pretty clear he was trying to cheer her up. She shouldn't punish him for something that he had no fault in. Instead she offered a soft huff and the slightest hint of a sad smile.
Aurora wasn't hungry. Or at least if she was the desire was being well hidden by her feelings of moppiness. But as he sat there beside her, eyes watching her expectantly, she shifted upwards a little, propping herself against her pillows wearily. She'd been in similar situations herself, been the one trying to force feed chicken noodle soup to a sick sibling. "Thank you.."
She picked up the spoon, stirring the soup mildly, until he joked again - this time about his cooking, a small but genuine smile touching her face. And she obliged him, lifting the spoon to take a small 'bite'.
"I'm sorry that I'm making you waste your day." She added afterwards, spoon stirring again. "I'm sure there are a hundred other things you could be doing.."

Azzo gave a small snort, as if he didn't believe her when she was started huffing and shook his head. "If you don't behave I won't give you you're present." He threatened.
He hadn't told her about the idea, but he'd grabbed a few things then sent Snowball and Merlin out with a small shopping list. The dog and cat both wearing saddlebags. They were a silly sight when they came back but Azzo had counted the money in the bags and checked the receipts, then nodded and sent the cat out to play . . . or whatever it was cats did. At least he had what he wanted for Aurora maybe it'd cheer her up. If only she'd eat. . .
"Oh yes, I had a full day lined up." He said drolly. "Lets see first I was going to save the world, then conqueror it in the name of Polaris, after that I was going to scrub dishes and do bills. Horribly exciting stuff." He was poking fun but still, really he didn't always do that much exciting things, specially since he could work from home most of the times. It wasn't like puppets required onsite work unless they were needed for a show the same night.

Her look was skeptical when he mentioned a present, uncertain in what she could have possibly done to earn one. But the word 'behave' struck her nonetheless. She was acting like a petulant child, she knew that much, and the last thing she needed to do was run him off by being so gruff. It was bad enough being stuck here, having company was so much better - even if she wasn't particularly acting like it.
His joke and sarcasm about the plans she wasn't really ruling drew a tiny and brief laugh from her. Her head shaking slightly. "You're ridiculous." The word however was filled with affection. "Saving the world is pretty important though..."
Another bite of soup was taken, followed by her picking mildly at the bread until she'd secured a tiny piece of it and ate that too. "I'm sure I'll be fine by tomorrow." At least fine enough to drag herself around, even if it was like a zombie. She hoped. There certainly was no exact science - especially considering the strange circumstances she and Snowball had found themselves trying to deal with. "I have a good nurse after all."

Niflhel watched her as she stirred the soup around, as he seemed to draw at least a small laugh from Aurora. He winked at her, "Well sometimes you gotta think big."
He shrugged softly, "The world can do without me a few days. It's not like there aren't others out there working too." He stretched a little as she took another bite of soup and some bread. "Yeah.... uh-huh. Eating like a mouse won't help you get your strength back." He said as he stood up, "I mean I know my cooking's bad, but seriously."
He stopped when she said she had a good nurse, "I try; anyways I'll be right back." He said as he whisked his way out the bed room door.

"It tastes perfectly fine." She pouted, shoulders drooping. "I'm just not very hungry." Though she couldn't deny that he had a point. Whether she wanted to eat or not food probably would help her get better faster. She looked almost begrudgingly at the soup as she took another bite.
And then suddenly he was gone.
Her eyes had lifted towards the doorway as he left so abruptly, a soft frown touching her lips. But he'd said he'd be right back, so instead she went back to picking at her stew and bread, intent on having at least a visible amount of it gone before he returned, to make him happy.
Maybe she'd see if he would run her a bath later. Laying around in a warm bath would be a nice change of scenery from laying around in a bed.

"That. . . might be because I cheated a little." He winked as he slipped out.
When he came back a few minutes later he was juggling a few boxes and some cases. Humming as he waltzed in looking around the room. "Hm, I think I need one more thing."
He set the boxes on a nearby chair and looked around the room once more, before holding up a finger and heading back out of the room again, "Yup, one more thing!"

She shook her head a little when he mentioned cheating, the tinest little smile quirking on her lips. He probably meant he'd used a canned soup as the base and added to it - but really it didn't matter even if he had. As cliche as it was, love was the most important ingredient, and for sure he'd included some of that in his preparations.
By the time he came back she'd finished about a third of her soup and a half of her bread. A little bit of a the fruit was missing too. But when he appeared with a bunch of boxes her attention quickly turned away from the food, watching him curiously.
"What are you up too...?" She whispered after him when he left the room again, eyeing the boxes from across the room.

Azzo looked at how much she'd eaten before plopping the other box beside her. "Nothing~" He answered as he sat there looking at the boxes pondering the order in which they were to be placed. Actually, he'd made sure Merlin had a wagon too. Surely none of this was too jarred.
"So on a scale 1 to 10 how bored are you?" He didn't usually indulge in certain aspects of the modern world but there were things that sometimes couldn't go without being reassessed. He was looking at her leaning on the box that was sitting beside her now. He obviously wasn't just going to let her open the boxes easily. Some of them were small, one large and thin, and two fairly decent sized boxes.

Lots of boxes, of all different sizes and shapes. Aurora's eyes traveled curiously to each one before finally settling on Azzo quizzically. Her look growing all the more suspicious as he asked her the bizarre question. He was actually probably enjoying himself.
And, for the moment at least, she was distracted from her thoughts.
"Hmm... if 1 is the most bored and 10 is the least.. then probably a 2 1/2." She answered after momentary thought. Unlike others who might have jokingly exaggerated and named a number far off the scale she was the 'serious' sort. And empathetic too, because while she felt 'the most bored ever' she could assume there were people out there that had it worse then her. So saying 1 would have been disrespectful. But she was still awfully bored.

"Well open this one I'll get to work with some of the others." He answered after she replied to him on how bored she was. He knew she probably was pretty bored after all.
He got up and hummed, "Try not to drop that please~ I'm not sure how excited they were to find out a cat and a dog were running my errands." He'd of course called ahead before ever sending Merlin and Snowball out. "So glad that places understand when I need my pets to do my job for me." He sighed as he picked up the large, thin box to start opening it.
The one she had was a cutesy colored nintendo wiiu. Well, he thought it was cutesy, it was more like pokemon themed. It was pink and had Slyveon on it. He pulled out a TV from the box he had, it was roughly a 36 inch. "Hopefully this'll cure you're boredom. Now you can't become a couch potato playing these though."
