With her duty finished in the medical ward, Adelaide went outside to take a breather. It hadn't been her best effort there, but she was confident she knew her stuff regardless: one bad episode with a patient wouldn't shake her. It felt nice to finally feel like she was rising in the ranks at least...
She went ahead and signed up for an extra duty since she had the time and energy. Security hadn't been touched on in a while, and though Adelaide's fingers itched for the paintball task, she knew checking the fence was important. So with a nod at the officer in charge, she hustled out to the yard and towards the electric fence.
It was a beauty, having that to keep them safe. One damn lucky thing she could be grateful for despite being locked up there without her sons. As she approached, Adelaide noticed there was some damage done to one part of it and clicked her teeth at some passerby undying and infected as she made her way over. "Don't bother me now," she chastised them, like they could even understand anymore. Classic Adelaide, talking to herself to fill the silence. "Lady's got a job to do."

"You guys did a number on this part, didn't ya?"
Adelaide continued to talk to herself as she pulled out her tools. She had been lucky that the requisitions officer that day actually knew where everything was. Having done the supply closet in the medbay more than enough times already, she couldn't imagine how hard it had to be keeping track of hammers and pliers and what not.
She spent the better part of 45 minutes prying half of a corpse off and forcing the chain link fence back together--and several times she had been sure she would electrocute herself. But eventually she stood back and admired her work.
