Medical: Medical supplies
As a recruit, your job is to do all of the jobs other people don't want to. These may be boring, or dirty, or just plain ridiculous. For those interested in gaining Cred with the medical section of the prison, your job is to keep the medbay stocked and organized. This is a tedious, and thankless job.
Step One: Opening Supply Boxes All supply boxes are unmarked and in no order. It's your job to open them, and find the supply you were assigned to stock and organize. Good luck - it's a complete mess in the main supply room.
-Roll 20d10 -The first dice decides what you've been assigned to. See the list below. All other dice are your attempts at finding it. You need to find at least one box to continue. If you do not match your first number with any of your other dice, you must continue to roll 20d10s until you do. Each time you must roll to search must have at least 100 word count. Feel free to match to the list of what you did find as flavor texts for your posts. -You receive 1 bar for attempting this, pass or fail. If you do not pass, you cannot continue on to step 2, and leave with only the 1 bar.
1. List of Supplies: 2. Bandages 3. Syringes 4. Exam Gloves 5. Bedpans 6. Catheters 7. First Aid Kits 8. Disposable exam drape sheets 9. Surgical Scissors 10. Thermometers
Example: I roll 20d10. I get: 5, 6, 8, 10, 5, 8, 5, 7, 6, 5, 2, 5, 3, 8, 5, 4, 4, 2, 4, 1. That first dice is a 5. This means I am in charge of finding bedpans. I now have 19 other chances to find boxes of bedpans, and lo and behold, I found five of them! I take those back to the medbay with me, victorious.
Step Two: Stocking Up -This is the easy step. Roleplay in a separate post, your character stocking the medbay with the item you've been assigned to. They may go in the supply closet, or in the case of drape sheets, be put directly on the exam tables. -This post must be separate, and 100 word count minimum. -You gain 1 bar for this step, and it is mandatory to move on to the next step.
Step Three: Organizing The supply closet is a complete mess. You can't just leave it the way you found it. -Roll 2d6. The total of your roll must be between 7 and 12 in order to have completed this task. This post has a minimum word count of 100. You receive 1 bar for attempting it, pass or fail.
Rewards: In addition to the rewards already listed, if you are successful at all three steps, you are awarded an extra 3 bars. You also receive 25% Medical Cred. If you failed at step three, you only receive 10% Medical Cred. Please keep track of your Cred in your journal! You will need it in order to complete Officer level quests!

It was time to hunt for supplies. Her assignment this morning? Surgical scissors. Scissors...in a zombie apocalypse?
Sure. Whatever.
There were dozens of boxes scattered about, some supplies from the prison, some from the various searches and hunts out in the wilderness that was formerly civilization. Bandages, bedpans, there was a little of everything, but her job was to find scissors for whatever it was the Boss wanted them for. Blades were nice, but she was pretty skeptical that stabbing a zombie with a pair of scissors would get very far. Especially surgical scissors.
But again, whatever.
After several minutes (probably close to thirty, she'd guess), three boxes filled with surgical scissors were found among the many.

Ignoring the mess she'd made (for the time being, at least) Lola decided it was time to organize. There were hundreds of scissors and they all needed to be stored in the supply closet just the way Boss had wanted them to be.
Who would have thought that scissors could be so heavy? Each box had to be a good twenty or thirty pounds, which was far more than she was used to carrying around. Granted, it wasn't anything nearly as heavy as what Al and the manly prisoners of their faction were used to carrying, but she felt like she was getting a fair workout, all the same.
This task took another few minutes, this time, generating a decent amount of sweat from all the lugging around and lifting them up onto the fourth shelf in the closet.

Lifting was hard work, much harder than she had thought it would be. When she'd agreed to organize, she had assumed it would be like filing papers or organizing plan books or okay she really didn't know what she should have expected but THIS was not it.
Stepping back, she stared at the supply closet and then turned towards the scattered boxes on the ground. She'd left quite a mess on her search for all the surgical scissors, a mess that no doubt weighed a fair amount more than the three boxes she had carried over to the closet.
Eh.
Someone else could take care of her mess. She'd done enough work for one day.

Thermometers.
Today's task involved thermometers. Which made sense, really, seeing as there was an infection spreading and although she lacked any real medical training, Lola knew that the first sign of an infection dealt with fevers.
She wasn't too terribly opposed to the idea of searching for thermometers, especially considering they were mostly new thermometers and not ones formerly shoved in people's mouths, armpits and rectums. Had they been used, her opinion would have been slightly different.
One box, two box, three box...bored. Digging through at least fifteen, she was growing impatient. Finally, on the sixteenth, she found a box of oral thermometers. She gave a few more boxes a try, but only one lonely box was discovered out of the entire mess.

Sigh.
One box didn't seem to be very many at all, which was frankly, quite disappointing. She bent down and lifted up the box, which probably weighed only five pounds or so - much lighter than her previous supply stocking task. Carrying it over to the storage closet, she rested the box on the bottom shelf before pulling back on the four flaps and opening it, exposing the contents. Inside the box lay dozens of tiny thermometers.
Well, there were definitely more than she'd expected to see. They appeared to be personal usage ones, with no additional boxes for the probe covers. Ah well, there seemed to be more than enough for all of the prison faction members!
Taking handfuls out at a time, she neatly stacked them in a pile on one corner of a higher shelf.

Once finished with her stocking, she brushed her hands against her leggings out of habit. Overall, it wasn't a terribly hard task to do and she'd managed to do it in shorter time than she'd planned for.
Turning around, she grimaced as she stared at the nineteen opened boxes scattered across the floor and tables of the medical bay area. Ugh.
Setting to work, she began to pack the boxes back up (though refusing to tape them - she was sure she'd end up there again in the days to come, so why add more additional work for her future self?) and stacked them all in a neat corner in the room. This took more sweat and work than she'd have liked, but the feeling of accomplishment once the job was done was fairly nice. Maybe she even had enough time to go back to the kitchen and work on a new snack!

Still nursing her sore throat with the remnants of her can of juice, Lola thought it would probably be in her best interest to leave the kitchen and perhaps find another task to do that didn't involve cooking or eating at all.
Med bay, it was.
There were a new set of boxes, haphazardly dropped off on the ground and not nearly in neat of an order as the way she'd left her previous stack the day before. Sigh.
Pulling the crinkled list from the side table, she looked to see what supplies she'd be hunting for today. Catheters.
Joy.
Tearing open flap after flap, she came across two of the plentiful boxes to have catheters in them.

Why they needed so many catheters was beyond her. The entire concept of what a catheter was gave her the creeps - no one was going to stick one of those up her hoo-haw!
It wasn't as if the zombies were going to leave someone only semi-mangled, enough to where they were still alive and rescue-able but at the same time without the meanings to be able to urinate on their own.
Maybe guys were having an issue with their ability to go.
Maybe she didn't want to think about it any more.
The boxes were shoved onto the second shelf, one after the other. She carelessly removed the caths from the boxes, not-so-neatly stacking them up beside each other.

With the size of the packages the catheters came in, it didn't take very long for the sorting to be done. Granted, the few times she'd been doing supplies in the Medbay, the sorting hadn't been the difficult part.
Cleaning up, however, was.
Turning around, she sighed as she realized how big of a mess she'd made on her search for the boxes of catheters. Bandages, bedpans, thermometers (where were they yesterday when she needed them??), everything scattered all over the place. Ugh.
It took nearly thirty minutes to rearrange the boxes until they were suitably organized for the next idiot who decided they wanted to stock up in the Med Bay. Lola, on the other hand, was going to go take a nap.
