It was getting closer to the end of the day, and more and more people seemed to be winning their life from the casino. Cries of happiness and relief came when the collar was removed from another person's neck. Each time Kelly saw someone get their collar off, hers seemed to weigh a little bit more.
Soon enough, she felt like she couldn't breath, and had to get away from that side of the room. Avoiding the guards, she moved to where the tables were quieter, on the dark corner of the floor. Only the soft hum of the slots could be heard near by, but for the moment it seemed as if no one was around to play them. So she sat, and tried to catch her breath and focus on the goal. She only needed 30 more coins, and then she would be free.

As time went on Kammy was seeing less and less collars on people, and every time one of them was sporting a blue jersey she felt that much more relived. Maybe there was a chance everyone would make it out alright?
With another glance at the crowd, she spotted the familiar clothing, but also saw the electronic display of a collar. Not a good combo.
Moving closer, she choose a seat next to the student. "Hows your tally going?" She asked with some concern.

Slowly getting herself together, Kelly rubbed her neck and the collar that was attached to it. Really, her numbers weren't terrible, and she could most likely get her goal by the end of the day. She just needed to get past the bout of fear that was clouding her judgement and get back into the game.
As Kammy moved close, Kelly jumped a moment, before looking over to the girl. The uniform caused her to relax a moment, and she didn't mind sharing with an ally.
"Not terrible, I guess. I just need about 30 more coins. I've seen numbers a lot higher than my own get out..."
As she looked over the girl, she noticed the absence of a collar, and took a breath, "You made it?"

Kelly seemed pretty nervous, literally jumping when she moved to sit down. The poor thing must of been a wreck. It was understandable, they didn't have much longer to get themselves out.
"That's great, you're really close! I'm sure you can get the coins in no time" She tried to encourage her.
She didn't miss that intake of breath either. "Yeah, I had some rare loot to trade, and I got lucky at bingo."

Nodding, Kelly glanced at her bag and debated for a long moment, "If I had to, I could trade in my loot, but I think I am going to wait until the last second for that...just in case. It seems, these days, even a towel has some value if you hold onto it long enough..."
Her voice was soft as she thought for a long moment, before smiling, "Congrats on the Bingo. I'm glad someone got use out of it, but man did that game go fast!"
It had been a bit of a blur, and when they announced a second round Kelly had some hope...before everyone called out that they won after three drawings. It was crazy to imagine, but at least they didn't have to worry about paying for that game.
"Do you know if others are getting out?" She followed up, wondering about the other students and faculty who sported the jerseys.

Oh, so Kelly had a backup plan. Good, Kammy could rest easy, as another student would be safe from the cannibalistic psychos here. "I know, I don't want to part with any of my good gear, but I will if I have to, especially if it keeps someone out of the kitchen pot."
"Thanks." She felt weird saying that, knowing her lucky win was someone else's downfall. "Yeah, it was a really fast game. And also wacked, I mean they had body parts instead of numbers. I mean really, they're hammering in the point. They just love messing with our heads." She had been paying close attention to it, and when the first numbers were called out her hopes of some easy coins were dashed. That was until the dealer bribed them all for a second go. It was corrupt, but that corruptness had paid off for her.
"Oh, yeah, a few others are safe. Corey, Caroline, Cecil, James" Those were the ones she could recall off the top of her head. "I know theres others too."

"I don't want to think about it if our leads didn't make it out of here," Kammy shuddered at the thought. "They've kept us alive for so long, It's not right if they were the ones who got eaten. Plus I don't know if I'd want to have Corey soup." She was trying to be funny. "Although Charlie Unicorn salad might be nice."
"Thats the spirit!" Kammy stood up as well, then thought for a moment. "Blackjack isn't that good if you have bad luck, though if you can find a few people I think pokers your best best, thats where I would start. Or maybe twenty questions, if you got a good answer no one would guess."
