Khaldera wasn't really in the ocean for all that long, long enough for her to put her new Firani orbs into the stash with the others, when she realized that she wasn't alone. Someone was close by her, watching her, in silence. It was something that had her hackles up before she whirled around, teeth barred, prepared to attack... when she spotted who it was. Her eyes went a bit wide and she gave a choked sound before snapping, "Kamau? What are you doing here?!" She demanded of the angler merkora male that was seemingly waiting for her to notice him.

The small, quiet man, one who was around the same age range as her, blinked his silvery eyes a couple times before he said in a murmuring tone, "Looking for you." A comment that had her starring for a long moment, wondering why he was looking for her. It wasn't as though he could have known that she meant to come seeking one of the breeders to aid her in her continuing quest to become Merkorian. As such he was here for something else. That alone had her swimming a bit closer to him, tail twitching behind her as she waited for him to continue. It took the quiet young male a long moment to find his voice before he said, "Ah, Peisios... um... dragons, I mean, we are having issues with them. Their getting more daring, attacking more often, trying to eat our young... those in charge, they are still of the 'survival of the fittest' train of thought but... we need to protect them." He was looking everywhere but at Khaldera as he spoke, worried that she was going to be upset with him for going against the natural order.

Reaching out a clawed hand she patted Kamau on the head lightly, "I am glad you came with me with this information. I mean to change a lot of things up once I take over. Which I mean to do very soon." She said, teeth grinding slightly before she said, "You will show me where the Peisio are, I mean to find them, hunt them down, and show them exactly what I think about them coming after our clan and our young." Even if some of those in charge felt that the young who survived such dangers were the 'best' among the clutches Khaldera did not. She meant to change this, and it would appear as though some of their breeders meant to try to do the same.

If they weren't careful there were going to be those who left the clan, male and female alike, which would cause the Deep Sea Clan to crumble. Theirs was one that was already isolated and small, something that made them weak enough as it was. She wouldn't allow that, if anything she wanted them to grow stronger, their clan larger, "Come, we will speak on the way." She would tell the breeder Kamau what she was planning so that he could prepare things for the day she took over. The first thing she'd be changing after all was their location, to move them to a safer place with more abundant resources, feeling it would be the best place to raise their babies.

*****

The two of them ventured into deeper, darker waters, to where their clan was located and toward the Peisio dragons that had been tormenting the clan of late. From what Kamau had told her the attacks were growing worse. It seemed almost as though the dragons wanted to take over the area that they were living and to do so that meant wiping out the Deep Sea Clan who currently held the territory. It would be smarter to leave, to save the clan, but at the same time Khaldera didn't much care for the idea of giving up. They were going to move, but it would be on terms, not because she was running away from dragons that thought to take what belonged to her clan.

"I will go out, find the dragons, and see about dealing with them. What you're going to do is go and check on the others, make sure that they are alright, and then see about finding yourself a basket. I need a helper to aid me with the end of my training mission and that will be you, Kamau." She patted him on the head before swimming off to seek out the Peisios. She'd seen about dealing with the wannabe usurpers, take them down, and keep their beautiful orbs for herself. Now this would be nice! She'd never gotten a Peisio orb before, never having been strong enough to be consider worthy of one during the hunts. Now was the time to prove that things were changing, Khaldera included.

It really didn't take long for her to find them as they weren't that far from where the Deep Sea Clan made their homes. It was a group of... four? No, five, she saw one of them heading out toward places unknown. She watched that one go before turning her attention back to the four who had stayed behind. Those were the ones attacking, the one that had gone off on its own... a messenger of sorts? Did that meant that these dragons weren't the only ones that were causing the clan problems? It might very well mean that there were a mass out dragons out there causing problems that she would need to take care of. She couldn't worry about that now though, instead she really had to think instead about what was standing... well, swimming, here before her. She'd go after this group first, deal with them, and only then when she knew that all of her friends and family were safe, she would go after the rest.

Creeping forward slowly, her eyes narrowed, Khaldera set to work gathering the power that she was going to need for this battle. Her desire to kill the dragons was a strong one. This battle was important on many levels. If she was able to deal with these dragons then not only would they no longer be a threat to her clan but it would show off her growing strength to them. They wouldn't have any reason to refuse when she returned home to take the reins as leader of the clan. Not that she felt that they would dare to do so if she came back as a Merkorian she thought to herself idly.

Giving a slight grin she allowed herself to sink down, perching on a rock, claws digging in deep. She would need to brace herself now that she was fighting under water again. It was so vastly different then fighting on land, but it was her element, a place she was glad to be. Finally she was able to fight things on her own level instead of dealing with creatures with wings. Giving a rumbling sound in her throat she gathered that last big of power she needed, now prepared for battle against her Peisio adversaries. It was time to finish them off and show once and for all how serious she was when it came to taking over her clan in the very new future.

The dark magical energy power that Khaldera had gathered while she was seeking out the Peisio dragons was twisted into a spell to be used against the creatures. It wasn't the same blast that she always used, not wanting to waste all of her power in a single burst, but instead she was forming it into something else. It was a spell that sent various, smaller 'shards' of power forward toward the four dragons that were gathered. The power flew forward toward the unsuspecting dragons, smashing against their beautiful blue scales, leaving in their wake a lot of smaller wounds. It wasn't a spell that was going to blow the dragons away in one shot, instead it was one that would injure the creatures, possibly slowing them down.

She didn't want to find herself tapped out of her magical energy again in the midst of a battle and she felt that using weaker spells instead of relying on one powerful blast that might very well not work out as she'd planned. If she used weaker spells, those that would injure and slow down her opponents, she wouldn't tap herself out or find herself too weak to go on. Best that she worked on fighting in a manner that was more cautious, especially since her clan was at risk. She needed to fight carefully to make sure that they were kept safe. The initial attack had the four Peisio dragons a bit startled, as though they weren't expecting to be attacked in such a manner. Pushing herself off the rocks she was clinging too Khaldera went at the fair of them, snarling as she did so.

Her lunge brought her into close vicinity to one of the dragons and she went at it, claws digging in, her many sharp teeth going for the dragon's throat. She was able to bite down on it a few times over, leaving behind deep, bloody wounds, before she was thrown backwards. Getting tossed end over end wasn't as bad when one was underwater. She didn't have to experience the same issues of crashing into the ground over and over, which allowed her to right herself easier. Shaking her head she then went forward once more, swimming forward at a swift pace, her clawed forefeet raking across the dragon's face a before times before she pushed off of the creatures, using the momentum to go toward another of the dragons, wanting to maul it as well. She wanted to make as much of a mess of each of them as possible because it would make things easier for her in the long run. The more that she sliced up each dragon the more quickly they would slow down as a group.

"M-Mistress... d-don't forget that P-Peisios can heal!" A voice called out to her. It was impressive how that voice was able to call out to her but in such a hushed manner. It was something she might have laughed over if she wasn't so into her fight with the Peisios. It was good advice that had been tossed to her by Kamau. It seemed as though he'd returned from the task she'd given him sooner then later, a good things she supposed since he'd tried to help upon arriving. The downside was that she now had someone she would need to tend to and protect, not wanting to risk a breeder who was so devoted to the clan. She'd have to keep him safe from the dragons since it was doubtful that someone as small, cute, and squishy as Kamau could really do much in the way of fighting.

Her attack on the second dragon ceased when it threw her away, and the water around the dragon was filled with blood. She then swam over to where Kamau wanted hovering in front of him for a moment, giving him a once over. It seemed as though he'd done as told, fetching a basket, which had her giving a little nod before her attention back to the dragons, "Be sure to keep yourself safe, Kamau. I don't want to risk your safety, not when your as so important to the Deep Sea Clan." She told him before she went racing forward toward the first dragon that she had attacked, doing her utmost to finish it off quickly. After she did so, and as the dragon started to crumble away, she called out, "Kamau, fetch its orb while I deal with the others!"

The smaller male nodded before moving to do so, leaving Khaldera to continue to battle it out with the dragons. It was as she was moving toward the second dragon, hoping to deal with it before it was able to heal, she noticed something that caused her eyes to go a bit wide... one of the dragons was fleeing? She had thought that, out there somewhere in the ocean, were more Peisio dragons. It was going to get away, was going to find those dragons, and it might very well lead them back here. That meant that she was going to have to finish off the dragons that she was fighting here and move further away from the territory of the Deep Sea Clan before they arrived.

Grinding her teeth for a moment she moved to bounce back and forth between the two remaining dragons, biting, clawing, and otherwise doing what damage she could to them. She had to be as quick at this as she could if she meant to finish them off before the others returned. In fact what she really needed to do was to finish them off fast enough that she could try to chase down the runner, to keep it from meeting up with the others. She wasn't sure if it was possible but she still meant to make the attempt at it.

"Once this battle is done we will be chasing after the runner!" She called to Kamau who, it appeared, had fetched the orb for her. He was currently putting the pretty orb into the basket that he was carrying on his back. Already he was proving his worth, something that made her give a slight purr. She would most certainly tempted to keep Kamau with her until she was able to becoming Merkorian. Did she dare though? Given as useful as he was to the clan taking him away might be a detriment to them. It was something that she was going to have to consider for sure. Did she want to indulge in momentary selfishness when it came to Kamau? Hard to say.

Shaking her head to clear such thoughts she moved forward once more. She couldn't let her mind wander, not when there was still two dragons that needed to be 'dealt' with, two dragons that were, currently, in the way. They had to be killed, quickly, so that she could go after the runner and figure out where said runner, as well as the messenger from earlier, were going. If she knew where the home base of the Peisio dragons was located then she would have that much easier of a time to finish them all off! Once she'd done so her clan would be a lot safer and if they were safer perhaps it would in fact be alright for her to take Kamau away with her. Just until she was able to become Merkorian at least.

It was an interesting new experience, going about a battle in a manner that called on her to fight the dragons as well as look after Kamau. He was a nice young thing, one that she wanted to keep safe through out the entirety of this battle and beyond. He did well in what she asked him to do as well, staying out of the way, dodging when she commanded him to, and even fetched and carried. She was going to keep him safe, certain that he was going to be a good father one day. Already he proved that the little ones were important to him after all, enough so that he'd tracked her down to Eowyn and told her of the issues they were having back home. Given that she hadn't really told anyone where she'd be it must have been difficult for him indeed, such a good breeder he was. If she ever decided on having nest of her own she might very well choose him as her breeder.

"Alright, Kamau! I am going to finish this one off. Be ready to fetch its orb!" She called out to the one who was hovering nearby before she went toward the injured dragon, lunging forward toward its throat, and was quick to tear it out. There was a gush of red that dyed the water, making it a bit hard to see as the dragon crumbled away. Despite the 'dyed' water Kamau was able to move forward and fetch the orb as she had requested of him. It was something that had her smiling a bit as she went after the other dragon, snapping at him... and then blinked a couple times in surprise when it appeared as though this one meant to flee as well.

Surely not all of them were so weak and pathetic that they would run away from her at the drop of a hat, right? No, this had to be some sort of trick to make her drop her guard. The dragon was sure to whirl around at any moment so that it could attack her. Right? That was what she thought that it meant to do but instead it just kept on going. It was likely going after the other runner and the messenger. It was trying to get to its other, still breathing allies. Not something that she wanted to allow since it was certain to make things that much more difficult for her.

So it was a coward, was it? Not even wanting to stick around to right her or to avenge its fellow dragons? Instead it meant to run away and beg help from its fellows. She supposed she could see the up sides to that, the dragon would have a better chance at achieving victory if it was to get together with a lot of its allies and take her on. It was because of this that she couldn't allow the Peisio to catch up with the others. It was bad enough that the messenger and the first runner were out there some where, potentially gathering allies and preparing to cause trouble.

She'd take care of the runner that she could still see, make sure that its orb was gathered, then continue after the others. If she was lucky she would be able to hit them before they were able to gather their strength and before they were ready for her. Khaldera wasn't sure what her clan had done to this point, how many of the Peisios they'd fought, or if they pursued them. She supposed that it didn't matter, she'd just deal with them herself no matter what her clan did while she was gone.

Khaldera was rushing forward as quickly as she could after the Peisio dragon, able to move fast enough that she could keep it in view. Teeth barred, eyes narrowed, the pursuit continued, and behind her Kamau was doing his best to keep up. She wanted to push herself faster, wanted to catch up with the dragon and put it down, but she didn't want to lose Kamau. As such she had to do something else, that being gather her magical energy once more so that she could stop the dragon. If she was able to cease its flight then she wouldn't have to run after it any longer then she already had.

That thought in mind she called back, "Kamau! I am going to see about slowing the dragon down! Once I do catch up but don't get yourself mixed up in the battle!" She wanted the breeder to know exactly what she was planning so that he wouldn't get himself into the battle where he didn't belong. She wanted him to catch up, sure, but that didn't mean that she wanted the soft little breeder anywhere near a real battle. No, those like Kamau belonged at home, taking care of children, but since he was helping out she would just need to protect him was all.

Once the power she needed was gathered Khaldera released the power in a concentrated blast. It flew forward, taking out the dragon's front foot, causing it to tumbled end over end, giving a howl of pain. It wasn't able to continue swimming forward any more, meaning that she needed only to chase it down and deal with it. She gave Kamau a last glance, making sure that he was close and safe, before turning back once more. Her attention was now completely on the dragon as she crept forward toward it, eyes gleaming.

With Kamau hidden behind a rocky out cropping Khaldera was able to stalk toward the Peisio dragon that was currently distracted with healing its wounds. It had been injured gravely by the angler merkora's magical attack and was currently working on fixing that damage. It gave them plenty of time to catch up and for Khaldera to start to stalk closer and closer, looking for an opening to attack again. She couldn't just let the thing heal itself and try to get away again after all. Instead she had to see about finishing what she'd started with that first blow.

After one glance toward Kamau, to make sure that he was staying out of the way, she turned back to the dragon once more. She gave a snarling sound before she went charging forward, crashing into the dragon, throwing it off kilter, messing up its spell casting. Once its spell had been canceled she set to circling around, attacking again here and there, wanting to keep the dragon from being able to start casting anew. Peisio were dangerous in that they could heal themselves, that meant that she had to see about dealing with this dragon before it was able to do so. She didn't want to have to start all over again from scratch just because the dragon was able to cast a powerful healing spell.

Gathering her magic she prepared to attack once more... when she caught movement out of the corner of her eye. She jerked her head to one side, spotting for a split second another dragon. She gave a snarling sound, wondering if this meant that the injured dragon had been trying to lead them into at trap. She only saw one other dragon though, the one she would guess was the runner from earlier, but it had disappeared before she was able to do much about it. As such she turned her attention back to the dragon before her. She'd deal with the others later, for now she had to concentrate on what was right there before her.

Her attention back on the dragon before her Khaldera set to gather her magical energy once more, preparing another spell, so that she could finish off the Peisio that she had been fighting with. A powerful blast of dark energy was sent toward the Peisio and it wrapped around the creature, swallowing it up, and in a flash there was nothing left of the dragon... and she allowed herself to sink down onto the nearest rock, perching there, and worked on catching her breath. Her tail set to lashing before se turned to look toward Kamau who was currently rushing forward to catch the falling orb, putting it into the basket with the other two.

Once he'd done so he moved to join her, giving her a once over before asking, "Alright you alright, Mistress Khaldera?" He was obviously concerned for her, though for good reason. Coming to fight with the Peisio dragons had been at his behest and getting her killed wouldn't be a good thing for him.

Giving a slight shrug Khaldera said, "I think that the dragon was trying to lead us into a trap. Now that its failed the first runner is going to find the rest of its group I feel." She looked around the area for a moment before she said, "There are sure to be more of them out there that I will need to deal with. I will need you there to be the gatherer of the orbs while I 'deal with' the rest of the dragons in this group." If it was just any group of dragons she might not care as much. Given that they were starting trouble with her clan, trying to eat the young, and trying to steal their territory though she knew would just have to take care of them.
