Maybe cleaning wasn't the most exciting of tasks, but there was something inherently calming in the busy work of it, as far as Renita was concerned. It was easy enough to tune out of your troubles and just focus on what needed doing. And, best of all, it was a useful distraction. She wasn't interested at all in sitting around idly, wasting her days waiting for things to change. Doing this got her out of her apartment and kept her doing things that benefited her faction in the long run. And it was blessedly quiet, usually, because she highly doubted her neighbors had any idea of what cleaning even meant and so she didn't feel any obligation to invite them along for the chore.
It was just sort of nice to do something simple and normal that still had a point.

Today's floor of choice was number 3. Armed with all the cleaning supplies she could possibly need (though she was of course well aware that even these sorts of things would require a bit of rationing), Renita trekked downstairs to it to begin her work. A lot of rooms were still occupied, and there'd been some puzzled faces who'd waved her on, but eventually she found a room to start on.

The first order of business was all these terrible food spills. Honestly, she couldn't wrap her head around the fact that anyone could just leave this lying around without cleaning up after themselves. Apocalypses were no excuse to start making a complete mess of your home.

Next, she did a bit of tidying up. Supplies were strewn all about the room, and everything was off kilter. It was hardly as bad an offense as the food stains, but it wouldn't do at all, would it? Maybe if she just moved a few things around...

And last but not least, the dusting! Grabbing a rag, she went over everything one last time, admiring her work afterwards. Another perfectly clean room. At least, until whoever was staying here came back to mess it all up again.
