Jacob once again was taking his time to roam the casino, the boss had caught him in a hall at a table where he was having trouble getting enough coins beyond breaking even the boss had slipped by and left the coins on his tablet without question. Now Jacob was moving to get the last of it.
Slumping down down in his seat again he frowned at the whole scene, the collar on his neck itching every so slightly. More and more he was seeing his factions peers without collars walking around.

Walking over and staring at the table, Mia blinked for a moment until he regarded the man next to him, tilting his head.
"Still working on yours, too?" The blonde stared down at his own handful of coins, finding them lacking and wondering if he should play the other games.
It was a chance and a toss up, and he wasn't sure if it was worth it... that, and he couldn't find Third, either.
Mia really hoped that he wasn't eaten by an undying. Or turned into one. Brains, or something.
Sighing, he put the coins back into his pocket and frowned at the table. "... this is an awful place."

Again in his lone dwelling someone joined him, his eyes shifted towards Mia, both of them locked and collared.
"Yeah, been on an even break, not winning, but not losing either." He tugged at his collar huffing, "Bout 20 more coins and I should be done but I can't really get through still." He paused, "Boss stop by and see you recently?"
He wasn't sure how many people had been blessed by the bosses charity, last thing he wanted was to start trouble.
"Least they don't have monster in here right?" He paused for a moment, "Least not the dead monsters..." There was a half assed joke and a grin behind it.

"No. He hasn't." Mia's shoulders shrugged and he glanced at the table again, noting that yes, the guy nearly had enough.
He silently wished him the best of luck.
"I haven't... really been around the boss." More or less, Mia had been worried about his friend that he hadn't been able to find that he was still looking for.
At the monsters comment, his brows furrowed further and he became completely serious.
"There are monsters here.... and they aren't the undying." His steely blue eyes stared at Jacob, completely cold at both the statement and the situation they were in. It was clear that he looked haunted. This was clearly nothing to joke about, and Mia would have none of it.
His gaze slid back to the table, eyes glossy as he mentally fought to keep himself together.

Jacob frowned a bit, the weight of the extra coins suddenly felt heavy Still he stacked his coins and shifted them about to keep his hands busy.
"I've ran into him a few times, I think he's trying to help the rest of us out with whatever he can get his hands on. He's a good guy. We're lucky to have him around."
The reaction to the monster comments however happened to be very unexpected. Slowly he leaned forward scooting closer to the other.
"What did you see..."

"They're too happy here." Mia fidgeted with a hand, his thumb rubbing against his other fingers. It helped him think.
"Where do the people go?" He whispered, tone dark. "There are far less here than there were. Some bought themselves off, yes, but... where are the others?" The blond swallowed hard, clenching his hand into a fist.
He was definitely worried now.

"Very happy. But they seem... stern, guarded." he gestured to a guard at the door armed and watching them as they spoke in whispers.
"I figured labor, something has to fuel this place.... just not sure how you know?" He frowned, "They set you up right? Room with two people? Made you pick yeah? The one I didn't pick, they hauled him off, he fought sorta, they knocked the s**t out of him dragged him to another room. Kid was balling his eyes out. Chose the women, she had some composure. Haven't seen her either..."

"Ah. Yes. One died." Mia's gaze fell and he closed his eyes, shaking his head. It was too much for him to bear. Who was he to play God?
Rubbing the brow of his face with the bottom half of his palm, Mia let out a stress yawn and found that he really didn't want to play the other games as much as he'd tried to psych himself up to actually do so.
"Have you played many games? Found out the odds on them?" The blond was curious, and glanced to Jason again.

Jacob frowned, odds are the boy he rejected was killed just as well, maybe not in front of him, and not directly by Jacob's hand, but he made the call who lived and who died. "Hey, that's not on you. You're not the one kidnapping people, we might be prisoners but we aren't savages. You can't dwell on them, but if you do, that makes you at least some sort of decent person in the end. Better then them."
He leaned back in his seat, the conversation taking at least a slightly lighter turn, "Breaking even, I've tried my hands but I've gotten most of my money through slots and talking to people who managed to slip me a few extra. Seems being social has perks as well. Guess they like us to be a bit active? Little bit of entertainment for them rather then silent faces pulling slot handles all night. Makes the place. Alive./"
Which was true, but the emphasis pointed out just how disgusted Jacob was at his own train of thought.

"Like cattle." Not too impressed with things, the blond sighed and inclined his head at the other, unsure of how else to continue the conversation. "I'll... leave you to your game. Best of luck to you."
