Being a hybrid, while fun, was a bit difficult. It made history classes harder, as she had two races to discuss in homework assignments. Two races she didn't particularly feel close to, either. She had grown tired of constantly talking about what races she was made of, and lately grown uninterested in learning more about her kind. Chimera and Fallen's were so vastly different, and then being a hybrid gave you odd looks from outsiders. She felt like a puzzle, not yet solved and yet she had no intention to find the last piece.
Her wings fluttered as she was herded into the common room. It was the designated play time for the freshlings, and she honestly wasn't too interested. She much rather be reading horoscopes, or just... sitting on the roof. Maybe if she could find someone who shared her woes? Or at least another hybrid? Maybe then she'd feel a little better. Or, at least a little less apathetic about the situation.

There was a difference between being a hybrid and well...being a hybrid. Foras was a mix of so many different nightmares put together that sometimes he wondered what else might be hidden in his make-up. It made classes difficult and finding friends like himself also a challenge. They were all taught not to treat hybrids or other races any different from themselves, but that was easier taught than practiced. He wanted to learn more about his ancestry. But that was hard to do when there was so much to learn about.
Once he made his way into the common room he found a quiet spot in a corner to sit down and prop his back up against the wall. He pulled out his notebook, already nearly full of different drawings, from paint to colored pencils, to just doodles. He eventually found his way to a blank page and started to glance around the room for anything that could catch his attention. Surely something in here could inspire him to draw...
Yushika THIS TAG IS SO LATE OMG I'M SO SORRY.

She hadn't noticed someone else enter, so caught up in her own musing. For a second, the hybrid considered sneaking past the caretakers, instead deciding to stay put, for now. She wasn't the type to want to get in trouble, but she sincerely had no desire to be here, at all.
Finally, red caught her eye. Her head turned as something bright was observed in the corner of her eyes, blue orbs landing on a hybrid nearby. Oh? Her wings fluttered behind her, a soft and almost excited gasp leaving her. Oh! Maybe she did want to be here! Wiggling off her seat, she approached the boy, waving her little hand at him.
"Hello." She called, rubbing her hands together nervously.

Foras had slipped into a daydream, staring off into the common room at nothing in particular. He was thinking about the tree out in the courtyard. The one that when the twilight hit it just right it sort of looked like you could see stars through the leaves. Being lost in thought he actually jumped when he heard someone call out a greeting so close to him. His head snapped up at the other Freshling that had approached him. He wasn't really used to people coming to him.
It took him a moment to gather is thoughts and pull them out of his daydream. "Hi!" He finally managed a reply and put a little smile on his face. As he looked at her closer he could make out that she was a hybrid. Part Fallen, like himself, but also half Chimera. That seemed like an interesting mix, but he had to admit he didn't know too much about Chimera himself. He did know that they tended to not get along that great with other races though, so it was interesting to see this particular hybrid.
There was a pause in which he couldn't really think of something else to say, so finally he just introduced himself. "I'm Foras! Do you like to color?" It seemed like a safe enough topic. He certainly enjoyed coloring. And he had enough paper and color pencils to share if she wanted to play along with him.

She noticed him eying her, shifting to the side to better hide her wings. Even if he was a hybrid, she still didn't like exposing her wings to others. Her hands knitted together, thumbs rubbing over one another in thought. Her head cocked to the side, a smile widening at the question. Coloring wasn't really her thing, but she had spotted his supplies. Sitting down, the little hybrid folded her wings securely against her back.
"I like it a little, yes." She offered, hoping he'd ask her to color with him. It'd be nice to speak to someone like her, and he wasn't as loud as the other kids.
