It was after class time now, both Jezebeth and Enoukn had approached their Herbalism teacher with what they assumed was a tough problem. Jezebeth had met her baphomet friend outside where they had bonded over a small growing plant. They had learned that their little plant was a tree, but growing up so close to another tree they were worried it wouldn't survive. Was is possible to move it? That was what they were hoping to learn from Corben!

She dove right into her question, they had brought the book with them that he helped them identify the tree in the courtyard. "We were wondering if they was a way to move a small sapling." She had read that that was what baby trees were called. "It's growing really close to the base of another tree and we don't want to see it die." The thought of the little tree in the courtyard not thriving was most definitely a sad one. She felt a strong connection to it, as it had helped her become friends with Enoukn. Her first friend ever!

"We think the sapling is a child of the bigger tree..." Enoukn added. "But we are really worried about it thriving! Like Jezebeth said, we really don't want to see it die." Enoukn was very... attached to that little sapling. It was after all, what had secured him Jezebeth's friendship. Or at least that's how he saw it.

"We tried to find answers on our own but we didn't find anything helpful in the books we had." Enoukn said, fidgeting a bit, his hooves scuffing lightly on the floor in his nervousness. "And Jezebeth said that you would probably know the answer so we came to ask you to help save our tree."

It had started as his tree sure. But Jezebeth had helped a ton, and she showed a whole lot of vested interest in its well being - so of course Enoukn was going to share it with his friend. It was THEIR tree now. Nobody was going to tell him different. Bright green eyes stared up at Corben, truth be told Enoukn was on the verge of tears over their tree. It was super important and special to him. If anything - he wanted to grow up and know all about nature like Corben, so he was hoping that the adult would have answers. Be able to save their special tree friend.

"Please, Mr. Corben, this is a matter of life and death!" Enoukn was totally not blowing this out of proportion at all. Nope.

Corben had been very pleased that two of his students had additional questions, there really wasn't anything more that he liked to talk about! So when they dove right in as soon as class ended, he was quick to gather up the remainder of the assignments so that he could listen properly... He nodded as they spoke, humming thoughtfully as he mulled it over in his head. A sapling growing in the shade of a larger tree... more than likely related, and more than likely not going to survive depending on the species... He settled the rest of the papers into his bag, then clapped his hands together.

"I'm glad you came to me!" He leaned down a little to look at them both, still grinning. Did his expression ever change? Probably not when talking about plants.. "You definitely can move some species of trees while they're still saplings, depending on how young they are." He nodded, pausing for a moment to let them take in the good news.

"And you're most likely right, Enoukn! Very good. It's very hard to identify plants when they aren't in bloom sometimes, so I'm sure your book probably has it in there it's just hard to find. If you'll show me the tree I can see if I know what it is!" He pushed himself upright again, and then adjusted his belt. "I'm sure we can get the poor little thing to a good growing place. Some trees do well in shaded areas but I'm pretty sure all of the trees on campus need good moonlight!" He then nodded, and went to open the door. "Lead the way, I'm right behind you~"

Jezebeth thought about the size of their little sapling, it didn't seem like it would be too big to move! It was still small, and they were really only about 85% sure it was even a tree. There was a chance they'd get outside and Corben would correct them! But it could probably get moved! So yay, that was something to be excited about.

"It's this way!" Jezebeth almost flew out into the hall, but had to remind herself that she was escorting a teacher and therefore shouldn't be running in the halls. She was just so excited to show him their plant and to see if it could be moved. With Enoukn's help the tree would surely be able to thrive if only they could move it. They'd do whatever it took to keep it healthy!

She waited for Enoukn to come out into the hall and than side by side she started to guide the teacher out toward one of the courtyards on campus. It wasn't all that long of a trek before Jezebeth was opening one of the doors outside. It wasn't raining today, so that was a plus. She'd let Enoukn lead the rest of the way.

Enoukn moved quickly with Jezebeth. He was very hopeful now. There was a good chance that they could save their tree and that was what was most important to him! Once they made it to the courtyard in question, Enoukn broke out ahead of the group and quickly made his way to the three, crouching down on his little hooves next to the tiny sapling. It was still quite small.

"Right here Mr. Corben!" Enoukn called, as he stayed close to the plant. He hoped that the teacher would be able to help them move it - or at least tell them if it needed to be moved! The last thing he wanted to do what hurt his little plant friend.

"Mr. Corben is going to help you," Enoukn said to the plant with a firm nod. He believed that this was the case.

Oh it was so good to see them excited like this. They clearly cared about the little sapling, which definitely put Corben in high spirits. It wasn't too terribly often that he encountered children so young that cared this much about plants! He followed along after them, little hooves clicking on the floor tiles as they walked. "Ahhh out in the courtyard under the big tree, hm?" He quirked a brow. This could require some movement after all...

He trailed after Enoukn, then joined him in squatting next to the sapling to get a better look at it. With a thoughtful hum, he gently reached out to touch the little plant, carefully examining its health... "Let's see... so far it's doing very well!" He nodded, then looked up to the big tree, mentally calculating the chances that this little one came from it.... Seemed about right...

"Okay! I think this little one is that big one's seedling! And that tree over there is a Sacred Fir." He nodded, then looked back down at the seedling. "They usually grow in pretty big forests so I don't think it'll suffer too much being out of direct sunlight, but since it isn't in a little closed off space like the others, it could get stepped on or broken out here... So we might want to consider moving it!"

So they had been right! That was exciting news. Jezebeth wouldn't admit it out loud, but she would have been disappointed if they had been wrong in determining what their little plant actually was.And it was healthy! Even better news than the fact that they had been right! So far Jezebeth was ecstatic that they had managed to get Mr. Corban's help!

"How can we move it and keep it safe?" That was what was really puzzling them. They didn't really have any idea on how to transport the small sapling to a new location without potentially harming it. She didn't want to unintentionally harm their sapling in the process of trying to save it. That would definitely not be good.

Enoukn nodded his head at everything Mr. Corben said. That was good - they were able to identify the plant properly and that was really the most important. He hated to admit it - but he'd of been embarrassed if he'd gotten it wrong. Still, this did not need to be said - so it remained unspoken. Instead, his interest turned to the proper movement of the plant - as Jezebeth was suggesting.

"Yes, that is the most important thing." Enoukn said with a nod. "We don't want to hurt it." He looked at the plant now, Mr. Corben had said it would be okay for a little bit - but better to move it sooner rather than later right?

He returned his attention to the teacher in the hopes of getting the answers they needed in order to do this properly.

Oh, it was adorable how concerned they were. It really touched his heart, honestly. Corben nodded, grin still in place. "Well, first we need to decide where we're moving it to. There's no use in digging it up if we don't have a place to put it." He hummed thoughtfully, tapping his chin with a finger while he thought of a good place to move it to.... "Okay, I think what we can do is moving over by the greenhouse, I've been meaning to put a tree over there!" He clapped his hands together.

"Next we need a wheelbarrow, and some shovels! We have to dig around it very carefully to make sure we don't hurt it's roots." He nodded again, tone turning more serious as he explained, "Then we transport it to it's new home and plant it there. We'll have to keep a good eye on it! Sometimes plants don't like it when you change their homes."

If they moved the tree over to the greenhouse Jezebeth would be able to see even more cool plants every time she went to visit their tree! That sounded like the perfect place to move the little sapling, she had absolutely no objection to the location. She simply nodded as the herbology teacher went on to explain how they would carefully dig around their sapling, in order to avoid damaging any of it's roots, and take it to it's new home. She was literally so excited that she was shifting her weight from one foot to the other as he talked.

"We'll check on it every day! We already do that!" She exclaimed excitedly. The tree was rarely out of her mind these days. She felt like it had brought her together with Enoukn, and now they were inseparable friends. This little sapling was a very key part of their friendship and she wouldn't let anything happen to it!

The greenhouse, the word in-and-of-itself had a pleasing ring to it. Enoukn likewise had no objections to this new location. Their tree would not be lonely - it would have lots of new plant friends to talk to. They would continue to visit it every day. Yes, this seemed ideal to him. A simple nod in agreement was given to Jezebeth's statement.

Yes, they did come and visit the tree every day. It had started as his plant, but it had quickly become theirs. Enoukn had been happy to share it with Jezebeth. If it had not been for this tree, they might not have met in the first place - and that thought made Enoukn a little sad, so he didn't dwell on it.

"Where do we get the wheelbarrow and the shovels?" Enoukn asked then, looking to Mr. Corben. He was dead set on getting this done. Now was the time - strike while the iron was hot! Well, while the tree was still small and easily moved he supposed would be more apropos.

"Excellent! I'm sure you two would make great arborists someday~!" He laughed, then motioned for them to follow. "I have the shovels and a wheelbarrow out in my work shed. Let's go get them!" He started on back down the hall towards the work shed. Once there, he opened up the doors and then motioned for them to come inside.

"Alllright. I'll get the wheelbarrow, if you two would grab some shovels! I'll let you do the digging if you want~ since it is your tree." He grinned, then walked to the back of the shed to get the wheelbarrow.

Jezebeth took Enoukn's hand and then followed after Mr. Corban as he led to to where the shed with the wheelbarrow and shovels were. Her wings fluttered behind her and as she skips she lingered in the air a bit longer than normal. When the made it to the shed she released Enoukn's hand in favor of fishing out one of the many shovels against one of the walls. She hadn't used a real shovel before, only those small play ones in the sand pits in the play ground.

"Aborists....they study trees right? I really want to work with plants! I love being outside and seeing the different types of plants in books!" She had heard that term in one of the books she read at some point. How cool would it be to study trees for a living? It would just be the coolest. She was already dead set on working with plants for a living. She'd be happy with any profession that kept her outdoors honestly.

Eno was more than happy to take Jezebeth's hand as she skipped after Mr. Corban. He found he liked it a lot better when she skipped because he was able to use the full range of his stride. Jezebeth as shorter than him - so her shorter legs sometimes required him to slow his stride which, when he was trying to get somewhere in a hurry, frustrated him at times. Not that the frustration lasted long - or was directly a result of Jezebeth's smaller stride. More often than not he wished he was bigger so he could just pick Jezzie up and carry her where they needed to go.

It would be faster.

Mr. Corben's statement about Arborists intrigued him. "I want to work with all sorts of plants - animals too." Enoukn added. "Nature, really, I think it's really interesting and I want to make all the plants and animals happy. That's what I wanna do." Much like Jezebeth, he thought it was really cool to be able to do stuff outside - especially work. Any job he'd get in the future that would let him do that would be okay in his book.

Enoukn was quick to grab a shovel after Jezzie let go of his hand. Being careful not to hit anything in the shed with it, he turned and was ready to follow Mr. Corben and Jezzie back to their tree.

Corben nodded with an affirmative hum. "That's right! Arboritsts study and look after trees!" He carefully exited the shed with the wheelbarrow, and waited for the two freshlings to be ready before he started heading back to the tree. "I'm glad the two of you love the outdoors so much! It's a great place to be, isn't it?" He slowed down once they returned to the sapling, and then carefully drew a little circle in the dirt around it with one hoof.

"Okay. We need to dig around this circle going in, okay?" He nodded. "You know, if you like to be outside you could consider being a park ranger! You'd be in charge of looking after allllll of the wildlife in your park and you'd get to spend a lot of time with the plants."
