She did note one individual who didn't have a collar on. It wasn't unusual to see someone without a collar (after all, many of the higher ups weren't wearing collars; instead they sported suits and fancier outfits or the uniform guard outfits), but the difference was that this one didn't look like he belonged to them. Actually, he looked like he belonged in a military base or a helicopter.

Still, it made Rajni curious. If there was someone anomalous, she wanted to know why.

She approached casually to the man seated at a blackjack table. She was dealt cards and talked just as casually as she had approached; she didn't dare draw suspicion to them. "You wear no collar yet you play their games. Why is this?"

Was he some kind of sadistic ******** that actually liked the cannibalism? Or (as she suspected) was there something more to it?

Magnus turned his one eyed gaze towards the girl who came up to him. He didn't recognize her as someone from the prison. That might explain her question.

He gave placed tapped the table to signal the dealer to hit him, then spoke while he waited to see what he got.

"Because my whole damn crew is still trapped in this hellhole. I'm not leaving them behind," he stated. The Boss eyed the cards on the table, then let out a low curse as he ended up with a bust. With a low grunt, he requested to be dealt a new one, placing coins down for the new wager.

She picked up a hand of cards as though she was actually interested in playing the game and not just interested in the man with no collar. She paid enough attention to the game to earn her due coins, but not enough to ignore the solid piece of evidence before her.

"Your crew? How many of you are there?" she questioned, laying her own hand down. Only an 18, but close. Someone else beat her out with a 20. Rajni cursed under her breath. Cards were never her thing.

"Couple dozen," Magnus said with a shrug. He looked down at what he had. 15. Hm... After a bit of thought, he tapped to be hit. This time around, he got up to 19. That was about as close as he wanted to call it.

He soon raised an eyebrow at her.

"Where are you from, anyway?"

Rajni looked around for a moment. Ever since interacting with Justin, she had been deliberating on the value of being guarded regarding faction information.

However, this eye-patched person had been forthcoming with information and Rajni thought it was fair to give him the same in exchange. "I am from the apartments. I have only seen one other person from my place here, but I am sure there are others." She closed her mouth in a tight line. She couldn't say her efforts were as valiant as this man's; she didn't intend to win any others but herself.

"So they are honest about freedom?" she asked him. She had her suspicions that they might just take the casino coins and leave the collar on.

"I see. Prisons," he replied. He went on and asked for a new hand, playing a new round. Magnus soon gave a shrug as she asked about how honest the freedom was exactly.

"Got rid of the collar, didn't I? If they're going back on their word when I try to actually leave, I assure you there will be hell to pay," he said grimly, "But right now, it's the best shot we got, hm?"

"I agree," Rajni said surprisingly. She wasn't above playing their system if it meant an honest shot at redemption. However she did have to wonder what this man meant by "hell to pay." Was he talking hot air or did he actually have something that could combat them?

If he did have something that could combat them, why the hell hadn't he used it?

Either way, she nodded along to his statements. "Have you heard about their "dinner" show?" she asked him with a sour look on her face. "It is wrong."

"Heard about it, yeah. It's pretty ******** up if it's what I think it is, really," Magnus grumbled lowly. He recalled the little conversation he had with some of the prison guys pretty clearly. They thought the same thing. And it probably wasn't a coincidence, unfortunately. No, he had bad vibes about this place the moment he stepped foot in here.

"The people who run this place are sick. Sure wouldn't mind this lot getting torn apart by the undying."

But no, apparently the undead won't touch this place. For some reason.

"Kind of sad when the bigger threat is other humans, rather than those monsters."

"It is wrong," Rajni repeated, to all of his previous statements. This casino with its undying repellent should have been a blessing to all, not a curse to be won.

Her cards were a bust and she cursed as she put another coin on the table. "Though I would not wish undying on anyone, however cruel they may be."

"Then you are a far more compassionate person than I am, kid" The Boss said quietly. Yes, perhaps it was a bit cruel to wish the undying on them, but he didn't really think they deserved a whole lot of mercy at this point. He had to wonder how long it took for them before the decided to resort to this elaborate scheme.

"I doubt the owners of this place see us much more than just cattle, at this point. Really."

That whole pricing thing? Probably to see who might make a better meal, for the most part.

And then he got it. Blackjack. With a faint smile, he went on and collected his winnings for that round.

"Says the man who is staying in this farm to win out his team while I will simply walk away after winning my freedom."

She thought maybe they were just compassionate in different ways.

She noted his hand and gave him a smile, "Congratulations." Then she left him be.
