[once again, no actual massacres occurring]
New rooms... Ganymede was not particularly looking forward to rooming with others, but he figured that he could convince them to leave him alone so it probably wouldn't be that bad. He opened up the door to the room, and was relieved to see that he was the first one to arrive. He pushed the door open the rest of the way, then walked in to examine the beds... which one to take..
After a minute of debating, he settled for one close to a window. He stepped on over to it, then climbed onto the bed to bounce a bit... Satisfied with the squishiness of it, he dropped his stuff up by the pillow and then hopped off to continue looking around. Hopefully the other two wouldn't be the type to invade his space... He really, really hated that...

Foras had tried to be convincing when he asked for a private room. He wasn't ready to room with other students that could make fun of him for his looks. He knew he was weird, but he was tired of the weird stares and had really wanted a place he could retreat to be on his own. There was probably some good reason he wasn't granted his request, but it had still upset him a bit. Under one arm he held his easel and plushie. He had a side-bag as well which contained all of his paints, crayons, colored pencils, and notebooks.
He stood in front of the door for some time before finally pushing it open. There was already one other student inside. He had claimed the bed by the window it seemed. Foras glanced toward him briefly before looking to the other side of the room where bunk beds were set up. Looks like they'd have one more roommate. It looked like he'd be sharing the bunk with someone. Should he take the top bunk or the bottom bunk? He made his way over to the bunk and pulled his bag over his shoulder. He set it on the bottom bed, this way he could come and go a bit easier.
Now, where could he put his easel. He held it out in front of himself and looked around the room. If it wasn't just the right place it would get tedious to work there again and again....

New rooms! Or, rather, her first day living in the academy! Her mother trailed behind her, holding a few boxes as her daughter scurried in-front of her. Daddy Cael was with Rowan, while Mommy Lyra was assisting Ella. The hybrid beamed as the pair traveled down the hall. She actually passed the room they were supposed to be going to, a click of Lyra's tongue causing Ella to snap around and toddle towards the door her mother was eying.
The box Ella was carrying (which was full of plushies), was shifted to a knee as Ella opened the door, shifting the box back into her hands shortly after. She was the last to enter, and she immediately noticed the two others, shifting closer to Lyra briefly before her eyes trailed to the open bed; a bunk bed at the top. Wearing the brightest grin, the hybrid rushed over, tossing her box of plushies onto the top of the bed as her mother placed the two boxes she had on the floor.
Squirming towards her mother, Ella and Lyra exchanged a small hug before Lyra gave one final kiss on Ella's forehead before she left, leaving her small daughter behind to meet her new roommates.

Ganymede looked up from his explorations as the door opened... The hybrid that walked in almost earned a scathing look... That kid was bright. He'd always kind of wondered how the kids with wings slept... that looked uncomfortable. He watched his new roommate set his stuff on the bottom bunk for a moment, then returned to poking around his own new bed... There seemed to be a decent amount of storage under it..
He circled around to the closet, then opened up the door to peer inside. Big... big enough for the three of them to share.. or one person to hog and store a lot of stuff. Briefly be wondered what sort of things he could put in there, but was torn from his train of thought when the door opened again. This time he turned a little, just enough to peer around the closet door to watch... This girl had a parent? Wait a minute... he'd turned in homework to that lady before! That was Miss Lyra! Oh gross.
With a sour expression he waited until Lyra left to leave the safety of the closet door again. The new kid had put a box of plushies up on the bed... clearly this one was going to be sensitive... and the other was setting up an easel? Probably sensitive too. Great. This was going to be a long couple of years... Maybe he could bother Vaden into letting him sleep over more.

Foras had just set up his easel at the foot of the bunk bed when the door opened yet again. The other nightmare that wandered in was a hybrid, he had to admit it was sort of a relief. What was most surprising though was that Miss Lyra was there! Was Miss Lyra her mom? That was sort of interesting. He remembered when he had drawn a picture of her for one of his assignments in her class. She didn't stay for long however, probably so that her kid could get acquainted with their roommates better.
He started to rummage around in his own boxes then, trying to figure out where the various things would be going. Most of his things her art related. Rulers, color pencils, paints, brushes, and so much paper. He only had the one plushie that he set near his pillow. He didn't carry it around too often honestly, prefers to haul around a large notepad instead.
Everyone had been quietly putting away their things, but that couldn't last forever. Foras needed to be able to get along with other kids his age and this was a good start. If he could have a good relationship with his roommates, than other kids should be easy! Right?
He looked to both of the Freshlings in the room and put a small smile on his face. "It's nice to meet you both. I hope we can have a good time together as roommates. I'm Foras." That seemed like a safe enough introduction, right? Should he say something about himself? He wasn't sure. He'd wait to see what the other had to say about it first...

Ella had begun to feel awkward. She was, and always had been, shy. It was a combination of her own awkward nature and how she believed others perceived her. The hybrid watched the other two, having begun to unpack her stuffed animals on her bed. The girl didn't quite hear the boy – Foras – until she realized eyes were on her. What? Oh.... he said something? What had he said?
Oh!
Nibbling her bottom lip, the little hybrid smiled faintly before leaping off the ladder she had been standing on, giving a faint wave.
"I'm Ella!" She squeaked, tail wiggling pleasantly behind her. That was a good step forward, right?

He eyed the red hybrid, not really sure what to think about him just yet, outside of his assumption that he'd probably be just as sensitive as all of the other freshlings he'd had the misfortune of rooming with before. He moved to sit on his bed, since all of his things were unpacked and placed into their proper positions. Surprisingly need and organized for a freshling his age, but he couldn't stand the clutter. At least not now. Perhaps later.
The red one finally introduced himself. Foras... he resisted and eyeroll at the hopes of getting along. Honestly he'd get along just fine if neither of his new roommates spoke to him or came into his space. Nine he wished he'd gotten his own room... Maybe they'd let him ask why he'd been denied.
The teacher's spawn hadn't been paying attention. Wonderful. Clearly that meant this one was an airhead on top of being sensitive. He was just so pleased about this arrangement. So pleased. Vaden would have to hear about this, for sure. Though, he'd probably just get lectured about not making quick judgments... Whatever, Vaden wouldn't understand.
"Ganymede." He finally stated. Flatly, without any real tone to his voice that might indicate his displeasure... Well, except for his expression and the irritated lights that occasionally flashed through his markings. He'd just leave it at that. They shouldn't want anything more from him, right?

Ella seemed like a nice character. A bit shy, but Foras certainly had nothing against shy individuals. He was a bit of one himself, not that he wanted to be. Honestly he wanted to be bold and to take charge, be a leader, but that was hard to do when people gave you weird looks because of your appearance. It made him self-conscious about his of looks and about whether they would take when he had to say seriously or not.
He was a little more concerned about Ganymede though. That look on his face worried him, and he told them his name with so little emotion in it. He instinctively took a little step in the opposite direction of the Geist. He didn't know too much about them as a race honestly, but those flashing blues, as pretty as they were, couldn't be a good thing. Could they?
For now, he decided to leave him alone. Bets to not get off on the wrong foot on the first day. "I like your plushies Ella..." They certainly were cute, and she had a whole box load of them! Surely that was something that was safe to talk about. Hopefully anyway.

Ella positively perked up when the new roommate – Foras – took note of her plushies, immediately pulling out a pink and blue bear one in the process. This one was her favorite!
"Thank you! This one is my best plushie! Momma gave him to me when I was just a tiny baby." Anddddd all her nerves had vanished. Sure, she noticed the other roommate looked ready to stomp out, but Ella was easily and quickly distracted when it came to talk about her prized plushies. Besides, Foras looked nice, and Ella was eager to befriend him immediately.

Well, at least they'd just started talking to each other. That was a relief on Ganymede's part. That meant he didn't have to put up with them! Good. He could go back to arranging his stuff... there were still some things that weren't quite right.
Well, while they were going to admire Ella's plushie collection, he decided to actually do that organizing. Without saying anything to either of them, he turned and strode back to his side of the room to fiddle with his pencils... Would they be better up top or on the second shelf...? Hm...

Foras couldn't help but be a little bit jealous of Ella for being able to talk about having a Mom. He had always wondered what his parents must have been like. He was fairly certain he had three of them, just because he was a mix of so many different races. But, he'd never really get to know any of them. They had probably been gone for many, many years at this point...
"It's cute! I just have this one from a caretaker! But I like it!" He pulled the pale purple and pink unicorn from where it was sitting nest to the pillow on his bed. He gave it a little squeeze and then set it back down on the bed. While he did like it, he wasn't overly attached to it. It pretty much stayed on his bed at all times. He needed the arm space to carry around art supplies instead!
"What's it like to have Miss Lyra as a Mom?" He really couldn't help but be curious about the matter. And since it seemed like Ganymede didn't want to chime in on their conversation, he'd just have to talk to Ella on his own. He did hope they could get along in time however...
